I like how they're both SSB radios, and that Boman is something else. If I ever get a mobile unit, it'll have SSB too. Maybe y'all could do an SSB range test video on the Sears when it is installed. :) By the way, what kind of power supply are you using?

The mic connection on the Sears model actually has a 12v power terminal. If other mics are used and improperly wired you blow the protection diodes.
Picked up one of those roadtalkers for 40 bucks at a hamfest last month works for a 45 year old CB

That Boman is the same chassis as my Siltronix Albatross!!! Very high end CB for its time and it can bark!

I have that Sears. Very good radio...
Love that TRC-474 also. I have one and its a great talker also. Also have 2 TRC427's Nice Uniden boards in these old rigs.
