I have a friend who is a professing Christian. She's a prosperity type...I'm the opposite. She's always telling me with anger under her breath, that God sees us as righteous no matter what we do if we have Jesus. He sees the Jesus in us and His righteousness. And this makes us righteous. She says we do not have stop sinning, as this is impossible..she gets so angry at me because I believe as you do.
Sadly, those are the lies which are being taught to people and many people are believing the lies because they want to continue living in sin but while being promised heaven as their eternal destiny. But the lies have no Scriptural foundation. If they use Scriptures, it is largely that they are using them out of context and they are making them to say what they do not say if taught in context. And this is not saying that we will never sin again, but sin should not be what we practice. Obedience to God is to be our practice, instead. All in the power of and for the glory to God, and not in our own flesh.
