    Who are we? 💁🏼‍♀️
We're Tom and Iz, who live and travel in our van La Bamba. We love nature and are currently traveling in Norway!!
You might find Tom in the forest IDing a mushroom, fixing something or starting an ambitious project with his laid-back relaxed approach whereas you could find Isabel cooking up a storm, sunning herself on a beach and being a busy, energetic bee with her endless enthusiasm and positivity! We are total opposites but it works!
How did we end up here?! 😁 ⏮
We met 10 years ago when we were both finishing our A-levels and had a whirlwind summer romance, hitch-hiking around France together before before going our separate ways to travel and to university. We've both always prioritised travel and adventure and have worked hard over the years in hospitality jobs to enable us to keep exploring.
Tom hitch-hiked across Europe and road tripped around Australia whilst Iz studied Environmental Science at York. Iz backpacked around South America with her sister whilst Tom studied Forestry at Aberdeen University. Little did we know we just weren't going to get each other out of our minds! Fast forward 4 years later, we found ourselves in campsite warden jobs, living in a bell tent in a wild flower meadow together! Maybe without realising this was the start of our van life journey!
Next, we both trained to be science teachers and during training, we bought a van, ripped out it's interior and converted it to live in it. Iz managed to get a remote work-from-home job that she could do from the van and Tom was passionate about starting up a UA-cam channel.
Since then we haven't looked back and when the pandemic allowed us to, we travelled to Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and around Cornwall. We are now on a big European road trip! We are giving it our best shot to do UA-cam full time. We have a dream of one day owning a little plot of land and building ourselves a cabin in the woods. If you're new around here you can check out our previous videos; we've been uploading weekly videos for the last 9 months and are currently releasing DAILY VIDEOS.
Our message on our channel is to inspire others to do what they love as life is too short! We love living simply, freely with less stuff but more time!
Thank you so much for watching! If you enjoyed this video please consider LIKING this video and SUBSCRIBING to our channel! It would help us grow our channel 🌻

Norway hunt the Minke Whale, population is estimated to be over 761,000 in the Antarctic, 149,000 in North Atlantic waters, and about 25,000 in the Northwest Pacific ocean.
Norway hunt about 500-1000 Minke Whale per year.

There's at least one company doing 'ocean rafting' with large RIBs in the Saltstraumen during high and low tide. Some might enjoy the experience...
Bodø has a rather nice aircraft museum next to the airport(which is nearly in the middle of the city) They've got a Junkers 52 with floats, a Catalina flying boat, and even a U2 hanging from the ceiling...
The Catalina is because the 330 squadron flew these from Iceland for a while during WWII before moving to Oban in Scotland and getting Short Sunderlands.
The U2 is of course because the U2 used Norwegian bases during their round trips. Gary Powers was actually scheduled to land in Bodø on the trip he was shot down.
General notice for anyone reading my ramblings...
There are still many aircraft wrecks left up in the mountains and other inaccessible places.
DO NOT attempt to 'get a little souvenir'. The wrecks are considered state property and historical. It really isn't worth ending up in the slammer for. And we don't do that silly 'bail thing' that the US does. 'Who's going to notice'? Dozens upon dozens of hikers, most of whom knows where the wrecks are and just happens to see someone getting too close for comfort. Like they say in the Blues Brothers movie, 'you can't outrun a Motorola'... or a Samsung... or Sony or iPhone.

I came across your channel some days ago and i'm glad you're enjoying Norway. Funny thing, this video ends in Bodø, which is my birth town. And your Norway adventure started in Kristiansand coming off the ferry from Denmark. Kristiansand is where i currently live. 😊 I'd wish for your sake you'd had more time in Bodø, for many people it's just a gateway to Lofoten, but there are many things to see, in and outside Bodø as well. Saltstraumen is just one of them. Enjoy Lofoten, it's amazing. Due to work i visited Lofoten every month for 5 years and it's breathtaking whether it's the midnight sun in the summer or the winter storms in January. Have a safe trip.

6:25 Hello, annoying translation bot here! Uredd more accurately translates to unafraid. Redd = afraid, uredd= ...yeah. Fearless would be fryktløs, a somewhat more intense emotion though they both are similar.
Farthest north I've ever been was Bardufoss in my army days. We were playing markers for the armored batallion stationed there. That was in February, so... not quite as warm and scenic as your current trip for sure xD

The fastest current are to be found at the half time between high and low tide.

Tror jeg skriver på norsk. Midnattsol kommer og forsvinner på ulike datoer. I Tromsø kommer midnattsolen ca 18. Mai. Polarsirkelen flytter seg ca 14 meter pr år, mener jeg å huske. No er sirkelen på vei nordover. Men om du kan alt om soloppgang og solnedgang så skjønner jeg ikke hvorfor du spørr? Kun for å kunne korrigere folk?
