Woman drives wrong way hit mini van and tree head-on in Carson. Two transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries. One female had to be extricated from her vehicle. The force of the crash ripped the engine out of one vehicle.
EMT and Firefighters and all these people are HEROES 🙏
They are very underrated

I remember watching a episode of the Walton’s and the mother was driving the old truck and the grand mother told her to slow down your doing I think she said 20 mph it’s a good job grandma Walton wasn’t sitting in that car at high speed

It would be interesting to test a 1960’s car in the same scenario. Seems these newer light weight cars crush easily.
It's what happens inside the passenger compartment that counts.
I seen a study years ago. The newer cars, believe it or not actually fared out better. Up to then, I would have thought the older vehicles would have been better.

There’s no way an older car would fare better in a situation like this. Those trees are basically made of steel
They are designed to crumple in order to absorb the force of the collision. This reduces that chances of serious injury. When the car hit the tree the occupants were still going at the speed of the vehicle at impact. They remain at that speed until an opposing force (created by the seat belts, steering wheel, dashboard, windscreen, firewall) reduces the speed to zero.

because wherever they are putting it is broken and any movement can cause severe damage. example a broken bone can cut a tendon or blood vein and cause permeant damage or they could bleed out.
That is to be done en route to the hospital. Re-visit ITLS or PHTLS.
