I remember watching this movie in high school with some friends on a road trip (funny coincidence) and we were laughing and roasting the absolute crap out of it the entire time. Definitely one of my fondest teenage memories. But after watching this video, four years later, it’s making me wonder if we were judging too harshly. Props to you BT for convincing me to give this another watch sometime!
As a huge comic book fan, I can easily say that the MCU and DCEU have nothing on this masterpiece of filmmaking.

Omfg I love it
It always confused me why people would shit on these movies so much. When I was younger I really loved it and honestly was one of the reasons why I was so hooked to music. I like all 4 movies still and I always will think they’re good even if people say they aren’t.
1- the first movie was cute and basically was about Dave learning to mature and grown up and to care for something besides him. He had commitment issues.
2- the second movie has two things. One being that no matter where you start is you can get somewhere. That being the chipettes. And secondly how the boys don’t actually have a normal life and Dave wanting them to really feel normal. By putting them in school. He didn’t want to force them to always be these stars, he wants them to be kids.
3- yes the one that’s oddly most shitted on because it sounds like it doesn’t have a lesson. But it really does. Alvin learning to mature just like Dave was a big thing. It also talks about fear of abandonment. And changing and growth. Even the minor characters in this movie grew and changed at the end. It wasn’t about being stranded it was about growth.
4- was already analyzed well in this video so I don’t need to go on lol.
That’s why I love the movies and oh show. I do highly hate the reboot though because they made every character just messed up and rude.

Oh man thank god someone is actually talking good about this film. I remember thinking to myself “ok remember just watch it you dont have to fully like it bc you grew up with this franchise” and then when the ending happened with the adoption I cried.
I prefer the force awakens but I don’t know what they were thinking when they were releasing it the same day as the return of the most beloved franchise they probably thought it would be good for kids who can’t see Star Wars or people like me who still go to see kids films
Hey I've seen both but not all on the same day tho because I that would be lots of money too watch two movies in one theater in one day

Personally really liked Chipwrecked when I was a child. The 1st and 2nd were really good too
The first 2 movies are complete ass, but I found this and Chipwrecked very slightly more interesting by comparison, although not that much. Chipwrecked is interesting on a surface level but still just as bad as 1 and 2.
4 is better than the other 3 tbh.

Ngl, I actually enjoyed Chipmunks 4. As a kid I also enjoyed the first three ones, but after time has passed only the fourth one has me really hooked to this day.

Unorthodox Individual yes agreed. I also like how they still tried to have a message to learn about forgiveness. The ending was beautiful. If they’d of done the two part idea originally then it’d prob been great if not one of the best, but ya know Sony. Once they see money they get desperate and don’t think more care. Look at venom, most say it was an awful film, but made millions and now making a sequel....
The fact that this movie actually tried to follow an actual compelling story with actual character development, actual realistic conflicts and that AMAZING photorealistic animation makes it my favorite out of the four movies. If my kids ever ask about Alvin and The Chipmunks in the future I'm pretending this was the only CGI movie released.

You should watch attack on titan. It is a great anime. It doesn't have any filler episode and final season is about to come. It is an absolute masterpiece and this show could become one of the greatest "show" ever. It gets better with every new arc. By this point, it is complete different show in comparison to what it started as and I mean it in a good way. By the way I am your huge fan and I like your video. I hope you will love it.

okay I love Alvin
I completely agree. This movie isn't getting enough credit. Most critics review the movie based on logic, but it's a kids movie, what do you expect? I thought it was great, I mean growing up watching the chipmunks as 2d characters from the 80's to a live action cinematic universe. These movies are truly wholesome, I wished Disney/fox would have better advertised them -maybe they'd even be a little more popular these days.
I mean we all grew up with them one way or another lol (chipmunk remixed songs) -what an era.
The only ones I've seen are the original and the Squeakwel. This was the 'Uptown Munk' one if I'm not correct.

This along with The Long Haul are good examples not to do a 4th sequel that Involves nothing but boring Road Trips. And I got a theory there some random director or regular villain trying to destroy these movies by rehashing let alone just cash what left of It's corpses with boring road trip cliches.
But...theres barely any actual road trip in the actual movie long haul sucks but this one is actually good maybe not amazing but just good

I looked it up. They aren’t making a fifth one which I think is for the best as this was a good conclusion and I agree with basically everything you said about this film.

It’s time. It’s time to admit that the original song You Are My Home written for Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip by Alana Da Fonseca is one of my favourite songs because I find the lyrics really touching even though the chipmunk vocals are really annoying and unnecessary.
