I would prefer the third scenario where Gabe and Ruiz are traded for Jerami Grant…. I really don’t want to give up Vando. I think Andre Drummond would be a great addition.
We gave Dwight Howard years off his prime a chance. Andre Drummond a second time around would be MONEY. No WestBrook this time around, and hopefully above average knockdown shooters
Drummond to slow we been there did that
the blazers would literally NEVER do that trash, lol like no other teams have any plans at all and will just throw whatever the lakers want to them for whatever crap the lakers are willing to give away. Good god
Why so the lakers can blame grant and trade him too
Dunno if blazers do it unless you add enough draft capital. I think market for grant despite his age will be high
Trevor: "And Jaxson Hayes? Well, he's there."
That made me LOL
I love these kind of realistic videos. Only thing missing would have been
A. a scenario where we keep dLo and fill out the roster realistically and
B.scenario where we sign and trade him somewhere
If we sign in trade I think we’d be hard capped
@@caleb1795 No the receiving team would be hard capped.
Wendell and AD would be such an elite defensive duo
Lakers dont need super star they need the young player but faster great defender and big man then bring back AD to power forward
LAURI MARKENAN/COLLIN SEXTON... trade AR/Rui/JHS 3 firsts
Markenan can guard 3 through 5, like AD, though obviously not as good as Davis. He is an OFF BALL STAR, he doesn't need the ball in iso, he works better just like JJ off pin downs and cuts. But unlike JJ he's 7ft, a great finisher (Bron will find him!), and a good rebounder (Davis needs help on the glass).
Sexton is a bulldog, great point of attack defender aannnnnd a good shooter (just under 40% 3pt for career... tho he also attacks paint unlike D Lo who puts zero pressure on the rim).
You're not seeing the big picture, LeBron has 2 years at the most. They need a Mitchell to play with AD in the near future. So they don't miss a beat when LeBron retires.
@@marioserrano6333They need a true center and a SG that can defend and shoot 3s
I do agree on keeping AD at PF and getting a center. still need a super star guard like a Mitchell to play with AD once LeBron is done.
They already have a young fast great defender in Max Christie. Ham just slowed his development by not playing him enough. Hopefully that changes. I would keep the team we have and just draft a big to play next to AD. Injuries killed us last year and we still did better than the year before reg season. If DLo leaves u still have AR, Gabe, Spencer, and Max to fill the Guard rotation. Throw JHood in there too
The Lakers should have traded Reaves+Christie for Irving, which would likely land the Lakers a championship.
Love these roster build episodes 🔥🔥🔥 If Lakers can get Carter Jr, Kuzma and CP3 on a Vet Min we rocking again
Why dafuq would Carter and Kuz take a vet min.
@@chickenoil8663 he meant CP3.
@@chickenoil8663 he mean cp3 only kuzma and carter are for trade purposes
No CP3!
CP3 is old, injured and his demeanor not great. Why would we waste a spot on him. We already have veteran leadership. The league is young, that’s the direction we gotta go.
Great work, Trev. Much appreciated.
Good one. All looks good. Instead of Jeremi Grant, It is better to go with Lauri Markkanen, less salary and more productive output. He can double up with AD as Center too. To compete with Nuggets and Timberwolves (their setup is two centers), AD needs a player who can play as PF and also a Center. Once Lebron is retired, Lauri can pick up his position at Lakers.
I hope lakers will go all in with this line up. Nice roster built.
Trevor should work in fron office right now.
Trade Reaves, D-Lo (if he stays), and two 1st round picks for Grant. Vincent, JHS and a 1st round pick for Carter. Pick up Harris and Chris Paul and save Hayes as a back up center.
Start LBJ, Grant, Rui, Vando and AD.
That line up has everything shooting, playmaking, defense, size, length, athleticism, strength.
Bring in Christie, Prince, Wood, Reddish, Carter, Harris, CP3 and maybe Dinwiddie as your bench. That team will win a championship next season.
Mikal bridges and Wendell Carter Jr..
Would be the dream. Even if you did have to give up Reaves.
yep, better than Grant
Sounds amazing, but the lakers don’t even have enough assets to get just Bridges. Brooklyn said no to Memphis when they offered 4x 1st picks for him. On top of that you have OKC, Philly, and Houston waiting with a lot more 1st picks for Mikal to go on the trading block. 🤷♂️
@@RWor1dFuck Austin Reaves. Yall act like he’s prime Kobe.
Biggest weaknesses for these proposed rosters. Doesn’t improve 3pt shooting & rim protection.
I do like the Jeremy Grant move. He fits the position of greatest need. Think about Grant when playing a number of the top teams. Luka, Tatum, Kawhi, PG3, Butler the list can go on forever. Grant is likely the best matchup that we could get to match up with so many of these guys. Grant can also play the PF position. I also love his ability to ball up when James, or AD miss a game. I had the same though with BI. He is making even more, but on a smaller deal. Kuzma, imo isn't as good. But his contract is much better as it gets less every year. Kuzma is also an instant fill once James leaves. He isn't as good as the 40 year old man, but is a very good fit once James is gone.
Y'all don't have anything for grant
@@Icebgriz yeah because Portland is really gonna do amazing things with him. Lol
How much do you hear grant in trade rumors? Very little because most teams wouldn't be interested.
The Lakers have a decent package. Doing a Reeves and Rui deal would totally be of interest for the blaz .
@@JeremyZ22 man the Lakers ain't on sht they lost first round don't nobody want them losing as players on that team grant way better than the names they trying to give for him
@@Icebgriz huh ? I can hardly read what you wrote. I'm not the spelling champ. But my dude!!!
Also here is how the game works. Teams give up better players to take on other players because they also get draft picks. They get off a salary they do not want.
This happens all the time. Do you think Zach Levine is the worst player in any deal mentioned? Yet the bulls would love to move him to get off his salary.
We see this all the time. Last year with Jordan Poole.
It constantly happens.
That's why Mitchell was traded to the Cavs.
It's not all about who the best player is. It's constantly about what a team needs to be the best team moving forward. Often to have a better future you sell on your current players.
@@JeremyZ22 huh I can hardly read what you wrote I ain't the spelling champ must be 2 different cultures
This is great discussion!
Good proposal Trev,.... Well thought out options 👍
These roster builds are the best!!! More please
I absolutely love this roster build especially defensively. I don't know enough about Grant from Portland to have an opinion but love the Orlando trade. Only thing I'd add is If we have a roster spot open I want Lonnie Walker back!
Reaves as our starting PG is immediate death
we're a lottery team w Austin at point
Awesome Content!
Good stuff! I can roll with either one of those rosters
love the implementation of your cat to your videos, nice touch 🐱
I like the thought of Wendell Carter trade. 10-plus points and 7 rebounds and good defense would be great
Simply don’t understand the infatuation these laker media personnel have with Austin reaves. If Austin is your starting pg or sg, you are not winning a championship. Our problem defensively was dlo and Austin. Best role for Austin if you keep him is off the bench as a 6th man. Personally since he has good value as the league likes him, I would trade Austin while his value is high and his contract is so attractive.
The lakers are going to draft bronny James in the first round Lebron is using Phoenix to leverage this ploy 😂😂😂😂. im calling it now because i have insiders
You lost your mind when you added Vando to any trade
Wendell Carter Jr. Would be a welcome addition. After that we just need to strengthen our guard rotation tbf.
Yea this roster is a play-in contender
Not with a better coach who would use your best weapons and not watch bad rotations choke like a max Christie using Hayes for lob dunks and bigger line ups
Trading 17 for Wendell Carter Jr is a terrible trade for the lakers he’s always injured and not a shot blocker
That would be a great start
Actually not bad. #17 pick isn’t that good in this draft, and Wendell Carter jr is a good young player.
What would you do instead, since you’re saying no
Jhs or the pick for me
@@DEEiBe
@@DEEiBeYves Missi at 17th pick....incredible athleticism, lob threat & great rim protector/wingspan. Outside of AD, we have little to no rim protection. He could allow AD to play more at the 4. JMO.
Problem is Lebron cuz he’s old plays the four
So unless we get rid of Lebron
Ad won’t see meaningful minutes at the four
They are actually a bad duo because of this
Only thing is, we lose D-Lows 3 point shooing but we get better defensively
I like the Jeremy Grant trade.
The Lakers should pursue Jerami Grant and Alex Caruso, put some upper and lower body muscle on Jaxson Hayes, teach Rui how to pass and move on from D'Lo.
Rui can't rebound . And average D
bunch of vet minimums incoming lol
Lakers are becoming a Walmart team instead of Target. LOL
Man fr fr. Oh how I wish for the days we could build chemistry again
Yup. I’d be shocked if they made a small splash this offseason
he thinks CP3 will go from 30 million a year to a vet min lol
@@user-wl4xr8lb1e I think a team would be crazy to pay him more than vet min at this point. But he’ll probably get more on name recognition. He should go play with Wemby. Make him look better
DEJOUNTE x CARUSO BUILD
Trade Dlo, JHS, 2 1sts for Dejounte
Trade Gabe, Cam, 1st, 2 2nds for Caruso
Trade Rui & 2 2nds for DFS
Sign: CP3, Jonas, Bitadze, KJ Martin JR
PG: Dejounte/Caruso/CP3
SG: Reaves/Christie
SF: Vando/DFS/Martin JR
PF: Bron/Wood
C: AD/Jonas/Bitadze
Start: Dejounte, Caruso, Vando, Lebron, AD
Reaves 6th man scoring punch off bench
Solid build and this team would definitely be a contender
The Hawks aren’t giving up Dejounte without getting Reaves, the Nets want D’lo btw so they wouldn’t take that offer for DFS. You’re going to have to trade D’lo to nets for DFS, Reaves+picks for Dejounte and you can trade Rui + picks for Caruso.
@@mescudi971Added a Rui for DFS trade. Think we have enough scoring threats w Dejounte, Reaves, Bron, AD that a guy like DFS bridges the gap between Vando & Rui. 40% 3pt shooting and a decent defender, much more simplified role
Gotta let Spencer do what he does if we retain him, he’s got talent!
does not sound like there is really asy way at all to upgrade significantly enough imo ...
Real NBA fans, knows that what caused the Lakers to lose against the Denver Nuggets period was the role players.Austin Reaves who’s untouchable in trades was very inconsistent and Rui disappeared and Dlo we expected it
I like the Jeremy Grant add. He's a useful player right now, and even more useful contract in a true Post-LeBron Lakers.
I think we should trade Rui and Austin Reaves for another depth quality players.
Looks pretty deep
trading the 17th pick for Wendell is horrible
C.Wood is a “Scoring Stretch 4.” Stop calling that Man a 5. He weights 100 pounds. 😄
We need a rebuild of the front office. And are scouts. The top of this organization is a joke. We need to be done with this LeBron experience already. The that 3/164 could go a long way. Build around Ad and hopefully the next year we can get a spida or someone
Bron, AD, Reaves(top 6), Cp3, Christie, Spencer, Prince, Woods(7/8-12). Dlo Vincent vando and rui are where you can improve to finish your top 6/7
Like this one a lot
Why are we not taking about BoL BoL who is coming off his best season And has had success against the Joker
Let’s get back to the playoffs boys the league is wide open next year
If by “league” you mean “the Leastern Conference,” then perhaps, otherwise…hahaha.
Throw everything and the kitchen sink in a trade for D Mitchell
Bridges Smith and Thomas from nets for dlo Vincent and the 17 th pick
That was fun 😊 good try on a scale ⚖️ 1 to 10 i'll give you a 6 on the first two you said, but the last one I'll give you a 9, on cost for the team, on position needs and back up players 🏀
i like it. it seems doable
The lakeshow need a bigman & rim prootection plus the gunners
My biggest concern, aside from 3-point shooting with this roster is... we don't have a single legitimate guard. (Reaves is inconsistent, cp3 is old and injury prone) Honestly, the scoring you lose from DLo hasn't been replaced. In the West your facing: Curry, Fox, Kyrie, Luka, Booker, Murray, Morant, SGA, McCollum, Harden, and Ant. I just don't see a situation where the Lakers have any chance of winning without a legitimate guard plus not having spot-up 3 point shooters. LeBron always had spot-up shooters for every championship. He also always had a legit guard ala DWade or Kyrie, except for the 2020 championship, but we had Rondo and Caruso plus spot-up shooters Green and Pope.
I think looking through the "purple and gold" the hope is Max turns it up. I could argue Jeremy Grant plus Max is a better overall combo than D lo and Rui. Its way way better defensively. Better rebounding. Better fit. And likely similar in floor spacing, shot making and points scored. Its way behind in assists though.
@@JeremyZ22 Defensively, yeah, but one thing Lakers have suffered is legit shooting and every team in the west has a guard that can drop 25-30 points easy. Lakers need a guard that can score to take some of the load off of LeBron and AD. DLo did this inconsistently... but if we don't address a bonafide scorer to ease the load I don't see us making much progress.
@@EvanMortonFilm so
Are you in on Zach ?
I am not sure we are gonna find a guard that makes sense that is affordable without a huge loss elsewhere.
Like let's say it's young.
He can fill it up. What an amazing scorer.
But now we have a major defensive gap and gap at sf ever worse than what we had last season.
Move James to point guard.
James, Reeves, vando, AD and grant wouldn't be a bad combo. :-)
@@JeremyZ22 The issue with Zach is his salary and he's injury prone. Even if their asking price is low now, still need to match is 37 million. Trae is 43 million. This is what makes Mitchell at 33 million much more appealing, but think his asking price is high. Now DeJounte Murray makes the most sense to me at 25 million. Easy to match salary, he's going to get you over 20ppg and play defense and at 6 apg isn't too bad of a playmaker. The issue is how does he fit with Austin in the starting 5. I suppose you slot Murray at PG and let Bron do most of the playmaking and Reaves and Murray can when he rests. I like Murray defensively and in the clutch. Guy got over 30 points in both of the last games with Trae on his team.
@@EvanMortonFilm Zach and Mitchell are both at 43 million btw. His salary is terrible I agree.
Also Mitchell is 35 million and will need a new contract pronto
And here is what we know or at least assume.. vs not know.. Zach is 100% easy to get. Few if any would even consider trading for him. Meanwhile Mitchell, young, and Murray would have have suitors and not sure the Lakers could win the opportunity based on what other potential teams would offer. That is if any of those players even hit the trade market.
As of now. Mitchell rumors have been super quiet.
We all assume either young or Murray will be available but who knows which one if either.
I'm not all in on Zach. He isn't even in my top 10. But he could be really inexpensive.
And what I don't wanna see is the same Lakers team back without making any solid additions.
These are great rosters ideas if you want the lakers to loose in the play in or first round again.
The only problem is why would these other teams trade with the Lakers?
I like ALL 3 of these scenarios more than the true 3 star model tbh.
No major changes needed I would trade Reaves for Murray and sign everyone else back..this roster is good if everyone’s healthy that was the problem..Reaves and Dlo are duplicate players and should not play together…I’d like to see a Dinwiddie/Murray back court 🤷🏾♂️
This great
The Lakers Management should consider Tim Legler as the next Head Coach, seriously!
That trade is bad for the Magic why would they even consider it
this does a pretty good job pugging holes and not opening more up if dlo walks
Absolutely need Wendell carter in this team man he’s a great 2 way big with great touch around the rim and from long range
My first name in any ideal OF: Kevin Porter Jr for the vet min.
I like this build actually. Get Max on floor and we bring in Carter and Grant. I just hope if possible we could keep Vando but if not I still think this is a good depth build!
That's a huge overpay for Grant. Nobody wants his contract
How about Carter Jr, Mo Wagner and Markelle Fultz? 😎
Appreciate the roster build ideas! It brings home how unexciting our summer may be. Like the depth option, but unlikely to take us to the top. A big no on jeremi grant.
Lol😂
The depth route is the best.
We need a staring center not a backup we got backups
AR is a bench player at best. Trade Gabe and Rui, plus a future pick, JHS for Dejounte murray and Sadig bey. Pick a big in this year's draft. Sign CP3
Wendell Carter Jr would be interesting next to AD and Bron
Hey Trevor, you should be our GM and get rid of Pelinka. The Lakers really need a real big center, like the one from Perdue to bang with Jokic.
I Like The First Build Just Put Rui As A Starter
In your 2nd scenario, I'd take a hard pass on Saric at the 4...Wood needs more playing time at the 4 (more effective at this position). You could play Wood at the 4 & Carter or Missi (with 17th pick who could provide much better rim protection, athleticism & mobility than Carter) at the 5. Missi & AD would provide the best rim D/lob duo in the league. JMO.
Nice roster. About a 40 win team.
We need 2 way players a sf , and a center and possibly a 2guard that can defend and shoot
The Wendell trade is a good one. I thought you gave up to much to get him though.
What do you guys think of, Shaedon Sharp, Kris Murray for Rui and 2026 pic? For depth?
I love rui, I hope he stays a laker a long time, but if that was an option I’d say take it just cause it probably gives a better win now opportunity
If we sign Chris Paul, you can forget about Rondo coming in as an assistant coach.
No!!! use the 17th pick for a center instead of Wendell Carter Jr !!!
Instead of Carter what Issac from the magic better defense. Leaves room to pick up a better center also
I think trading for isaac and then trying to get murray and bogdanovic from the hawks… with out giving up vando
💜💛
wendell carter jr would be a nice pickup not only does he provide size being 6'10 270 pounds and ad being able to play the 4 again he can also shoot the 3 ball so you won’t lose shooting my main targets if the whole d Mitch plan doesn’t work and you want to go the depth way would be Alex Caruso and wendell carter jr
I like Grant! He was a big role player for Denver, remember him on WCF in the bubble. No Kuzma, he’s not what we need. Rui over Kuzma. Hate to give up a healthy Vando tho, luv his defense & energy. We missed it in playoffs
If bron left LA, I think AD will request a trade to chicago his hometown there a chance lakers will get lavine and coby white if happens.
Lakers should put reaves in 6th man he's proven and tested in that spot
To be honest Wood or Hayes never played enough minutes so how could we evaluate them properly
You're 100% correct!!
Nice trev
1st depth rebuild for me
I like your last roster projection. But I prefer to keep the no. 17 pick and draft a center. I believe the centers in the draft are good quality centers. Some may be better than Lively. Also we should keep Vando. I also think we could get THT or Gary Trent Jr instead of Harris
I like the build. Especially CP3 to organize offense when Lebron is off the floor. I’d rather have Gary Trent jr over Harris tho. Younger, longer, better defender and tough.
Curious about James Harden if Dlo leaves, he is an unrestricted free agent
Jermi Grant for Rui , Gabe , JHS 2-4 seconds .
D.Murry for Vando Dlo two 1st
Murry , reaves , Grant , bron, AD starting 5
Hell yes on Wendell!!! That would be HUGE! Trade the absolute impostors of Vincent and JHS
Vando is special player..
I believe trading Rui would be a mistake just like trading KCP and Kuzma was a mistake. The grass always looks greener on the other side. Rui can improve defensively and become a two way player but I don’t think Vando can do it. Vando has to do more work just to get to where Rui is in the talent/skill department.
liked this show and wonder about looking for a guard instead of jerami grant same idea or level of guard but guard not winmg
LAKERS NEED TO HIRE THIS MAN!
I love it! Jeremy is definitely Rui & Van in one! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I like this roster rebuild especially getting "SHAR-RICH" at veteran's minimum if possible, but this still doesn't solve the one question even Trevor mentioned in the beginning of the podcast: a true physical center - that means a big 7 footer (measured without shoes) that has the mass to pound and guard the post inside. I remembered Wendell Carter was listed just over 6'8" in the draft. He would just be a redundant of Christian Wood. Why not use the 17th pick to draft a young center like Kel'el Ware? This guy can shoot from the outside, he loves contact in the low post on offense and defense, he runs the floor like a deer, and he can dribble the ball, got good hands, excellent shotblocker with 7'4" wingspan. He's like a young Pau Gasol. Forget the misconception of "rookies can't play". Look how well Dereck Lively played against the Wolves in the semi-finals. I would get rid of Dinwiddie at all cost, this dude can't play in the playoffs.
Don’t trade Vando because he is a game changer, and we didn’t really see how much he’s improved offensively because of injuries after working will Phil Handy and he is the cheapest contract
