Without his/her support, they all lose it in one way or another: Dimitri becomes a revenge driven psycho, Edelgard becomes a war tyrant who gives little regard about her friends and allies safety and wellbeing, Rhea goes completely insane and becomes the typical corrupt evil pope (*SPOILERS* who can also turn into a dragon). Really, the only one who more or less manages to hold it together without Byleth seems to be Claude.
At least with female one. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have an S support with M!Byleth (or any of the other guys for that matter, so I don't think he swings that way).

Edelgard and Claude are cool (I'm working on Edelgard's route now, having finished Blue Lions) but... ahhh. Dimitri is just so good. He has the sweetest personality and the most interesting character development and growth. How much he cares for you and his friends is so heart warming. Dimitri is best boy, hands down.
I like that each of lord have their own unique thing. Dimitri being a gentleman. Claude being a shittalker and a troll And Edelgard getting embarrassed.

Let me tell you my story of how I ended up doing Blue Lions first: I was going to pick Golden Deer for sure, I liked the characters and house leader straight away. Until I started playing and I became indecisive because all of them are really appealing characters. As I was checking their profiles and Dimitri does his own and the embarrassed pose while speaking I was “fuck the other houses, blue lions for life!”. Sad I did M!Byleth because I wanted to S support him but his house has really strong characters too. I just love them all!
My first impression of the leaders was: Claude: Smart ass Dimitri: Gentleman Edelgard: Cocky girl So naturally I chose Dimitri for my first playthrough
Can we just take a minute to talk about how Dimitri’s hair looks like he rolled around in mud before it dried and clumped up, and instead of washing it, he just bleached it? Great character though.
