When I was a kid we had a huge windstorm and it knocked out power for days. We has a gas stove and made stovetop popcorn, and were able to cook. Such a huge morale boost during that time
I also made DIY Hamburger Helper last night!!! I like a can of peas & carrots, and a can of sweet corn in there. You can give the sweet corn a little time, but the peas and carrots need very little time, so they just get stirred in just before cutting the heat. Different noodle shape, different cheeses, no Dijon, no Ketchup, although I'll have to try that another time!
Funny the one fear i have in greater seattle during a snowstorm, is a massive tree gunna fall over and take out the power for days maybe weeks. ITS happened. Last time was lucky, pse sent out an emergency response linemen crew based in canada. Only went with out power for 3 days in 20-30f temps.

I live in the northside san antonio and we didnt lose power but we did lose water and what we’d do is for drinking water we just melted and boiled some snow then put it in the fridge to cool, and for our toilets we’d also melt some snow and pour it in the tank.

The snowstorm in 1985 was one and done and we didn’t have power problems back then either. It never got to single-digit or sub zero either.
get a ups for your modem/router this way if power goes out you can still have internet. its the bare minimum if you want to do any internet work while the power is out, a step up from this is several ups' on several of your devices or set aside to charge your laptop,phones and any other essentials when power is going to be out frequently. I have family that use cpap machines, and couple good ups' can be a literal life saver.
at least you had some power unlike me i had no power from monday to thursday at all and i have a gas stove that was nice but our heat sources were candles
