Feb. 6, 2021---Used to drive truck for a living and was headed for our yard in Phoenix. Had some time on my hands, so decided to check the museum out. Happy to say, they had enough room for 70' of truck and trailer. Think I spent 3 hours or so there looking at the different aircraft, along with me using my tripod to take photos of myself in front of some of them. This way I had more than memories and a paycheck for being on the road so much. Anyway, they had a F-102A in the markings of the 525FIS, at Bitburg, Germany. We were stationed there for a couple of years in the late 50's and this was Dads favorite plane. He started as a jet engine mechanic, working on T-33's, then it was F-86D's, F-102's and finally F-100's. He was in the Army & Air Force for 20 years and he collected his retirement check for just over 50 years. As he said, not a bad return on his time in the military.
Plus, as a rabid John Wayne fan, I visited the Old Tucson movie studios, where he starred in my favorite westerns 'Rio Bravo' and 'El Dorado'!! I am from Argentina (3/4 Volkdeutsche, 1/4 Castillian).
I also have Aviation Museums videos on my channel: Argentina, Brazil and New Zealand, plus couple of Australian and New Zealand Air Shows. Well done again.
