I absolutely love how Glennon speaks about who Jesus was and is - and what living a life like Jesus actually looks like. I also love them as a couple, and independently, and love getting to hear them speak in any capacity. So thank you for having them on!

Life like Jesus? Jesus said to the woman in the well go and sin no more because he wasn’t condemning her but told her not to continue in her sin. If you really love someone you will tell them the truth.

It's a good thing that someone with a platform is able to help people find themselves and be who they truly are. I'm fortunate to have lived in a community where acceptance and celebration of people living authentically was part of life. They will always be differences of opinions and views about how people should be and how people should live.

I LOVE that they talked about going on a family vacation with her ex. I grew up in a split family from the age of 18 months. But my parents were always friends and could talk without screaming at each other. We also spent holidays together so I never had to pick which parent I wanted to see or be shuffled between the two just when I was enjoying my day. We did have some struggles with step parents but they were told to deal. And I’ve been telling people I’m a recovering Catholic for years so I laughed out loud when I heard Abby say that! Love it. I’m a Christian.

I feel very sad & insulted by the the term “ recovering Catholic”- having been an ardent Catholic for 73 years. With due respect, I don’t think you know what you don’t know. And I’m praying for you both that you come to know the Truth in its’ fullness.

Really appreciated this video! As a Christian, I found it helpful to hear an outside perspective on the church, and very insightful on how we can better reach the gay community and not shut them out! It is so important as Christians for us to look at our own brokenness before judging the brokenness of others! Our humility and openness to have relationship despite our differences in belief are the greatest demonstration of the Gospel, and I think Andrew and Shawn were very brave in opening up this conversation!☺ Thanks guys!

I will agree with you that as a church, and or just a woman after Gods own heart it is important to reach out to EVERYONE... gay, black, white, Chinese, Straight.... but it’s not okay to bring a gay couple into a podcast that you have considered a christian foundation. If those of us who are believes are growing in his words we know there is no grey... only black and white and we know this is 100% against Gods word... so mixing that with a Christian channel is way too confusing to those who are new believers or unbelievers... hints so many of these comments.

    • @sarahg5784
      @sarahg5784 3 роки тому +2

@@hollyfordyce7448 Totally agree with you there on reaching out to everyone I was just speaking more specifically to this video!☺ I agree that supporting gay relationships while being a Christian channel is not right, and by praising or admiring their relationship S and A seemed to be doing this for sure. But if your beliefs are made clear and you still pursue relationship or have conversation with someone who is living in sin, then they can see God's grace and love the best, in that He pursues us even when we are in sin!🤯 You seem to have a very grounded faith and heart for speaking the truth and I admire that, lots of respect!👏 Pray for Shawn and Andrew and the church to have wisdom in "how to act towards outsiders"!💜

Talk about an amazing podcast! Listening to your conversation with Abby & Glennon was chicken noodle soup for my soul. We have differences in our beliefs, the truth is we are so much more alike than different. Embrace & respect one another. We all want the same things in life as Glennon so beautifully explained, our deepest desire as human beings is to be loved, seen, heard & accepting of ourselves & others. Thank you for that nugget of hope to hold tight to as I've been lacking in that department. I was very touched by the way Abby & Glennon interacted. Wow. Talk about two amazing and loving spirits. Living thru 2020 has been the hardest year of my life. I count my blessings bc I know so many of our brothers and sisters are suffering far more than I can fathom. I want a future where all human beings are acceped, valued, appreciated, loved and safe. Thank you Shawn and Andrew. I learned a lot about myself too along the way. I'm greatful for to all of you. ❤️🤗

By FAR the best episode! A lot of the other couples on here have had very similar stories and it was getting a little repetitive - I had been waiting for some couples with totally different stories and perspectives and this one delivered. Glennon's conversation with Andrew was fascinating (and I'm agnostic at best) and I could have listened to them talk for another hour. I hope this conversation opened the hearts of more listeners because love is love - and if people still have hate in their hearts after this, they need to get a hobby. Really wonderful. ❤️

I have been a big Shawn fan since I was about 12 years old. I unfollowed around the age of 21 because Shawn and Andrew’s channel seemed like it was getting increasingly more “southern conservative religious” and did not want to support them as much as I love Shawn if they were creating a community of people who are tearing down people simply because of who they love etc. I just read untamed and was so moved by the entire thing and have been watching glennon and Abby videos ever since and was SO surprised to see this video of you and Andrew interviewing them. I’m glad you interviewed them so surprised and overjoyed that Shawn is such a huge fan of them and glad everyone seemed open to this conversation. Saddened by the comments and hope Shawn and Andrew keep standing up for love and what is right and not getting swayed by judgements. I am about to go see if there have been any other “non traditional” couples interviewed on this channel - hope there have been!! Love Shawn forever glad she is so open.

Ahhhh yes!!!!! I LOVE Abby and Glennon!!! I am a huge soccer fan so this made my day, thank you! And I love this conversation and was very much captivated by the conversation. It is something I struggle with when it comes to religion. I grew up catholic and now struggle with how and the specifics of what I believe in. I am a straight cis gender woman who has family and friends who are LGBTQ+, who never understand the concept of religion and sexuality since we are made In the image of God so how could being gay be a negative thing. I have some moral ideals that I believe are fundamental as humans that does not go with the church’s doctrine, but I can look myself in the mirror at night and go to sleep soundly because I know I am a good, kind person. I resonated so much with what Abby and especially what Glennon had to say. So thank you for making a space for this. Love you guys!!!!

respect this conversation totally. one thing i think that is missing from this conversation is Gods word from scripture. This is a great horizontal conversation. It would be nice to make it a triangle conversation, including Gods words into this. Because you all have background and experience with the word. Our deepest, truest desires - where did they come from? That 'want' comes from God. imo. thanks for being so open. I really liked your identity conversation. if i heard it right, there were 2 identity, one you feel and one you present. I gently would like to suggest that God created and loves your true identity. And thats worth looking for as well. all being said - love you guys tons, tons. thanks for sharing and being so open.

You guys are awesome! Really admirable that you interviewed Glennon and Abby knowing that so many of your subscribers would revolt. It's powerful and we need more people like you. Due to your audience, you have a unique opportunity to spread diversity and love of all kinds, something that a big part of your audience needs to see and feel like it's normalized. Don't get discouraged by the unsubscribers, you gotta lose some to gain some, and in the end, you are doing the right thing. God bless and keep on rocking!

Shawn and Andrew I have listened to many of your podcasts and loved some and some not so much. This one I was glad there was a stop button because I didn't feel like the discussion was of God's Biblical Word. As we can all translate the Bible to say what we want it to say. No sin is worse than the other. Most importantly is that you give your life to Christ, confess Him as your Lord and Savior, acknowledge that He died on the Cross to save you from your sins. Then you will be called a child of Gods. We all have to answer to ONE GOD at the end of our lives and He will be the ONE to either welcome us home or ask who we are for He never knew us because we had forsaken Him here on earth. It is black and white.

Thank you... I am unsubscribing after this, unfortunately. I know they don't need my subscription but I thought this was supposed to be a Christian podcast. Scripture is clear about this sin that is being celebrated here. 1st Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 1:26, etc. Please repent.

I agree...though I do think we should have conversations with each other. But you are right - I didn't hear anything that was Biblical. I wanted to say so many times "Do you believe Jesus is the only way?" And then I felt like Jesus was being twisted to fit their beliefs and their feelings. What do they say to the verses that talk about you denying yourself! Yourself! And following Him. And trusting in yourself instead of Jesus is saying you just have Him as a friend and not a Savior. No talk about sin whatsoever. That's what Jesus died for.

@@smdpenguin All we can do is pray for all four of their true salvation, and love them because their truths are not God's words and again their truths are not Biblical either. It has opened up my eyes to a lot though. How much of a strong hold the enemy has on so many people. Truly saddening. As Christians we must stand up for God's true word. If not can you imagine what this world will be like as a Godless nation 😢.

God IS love. We are born in the image and likeness of God . How can we not be God within and without... Glennon’s ability to identify and clarify that to a wounded woman... who felt she had to decide between God and her true self... who God made her to be!? So powerful. So exciting to see God working through Glennon to free Abby’s fear and defiant defense of herself, wounded, pained child of God, and to allow herself to see that she IS love. She IS the image and likeness of God. She IS exactly the perfect storm of brilliance that God made her to be! I am just thrilled to listen to this discussion! And please don’t think I am speaking down to you, Abby... you are a rock star human being. I have such respect for you both!

    God is not religion.
    Religion is NOT God.
    o. m. g.
this is wat has been missing in the conversation wen it comes to understanding faith & religion.
Religions can be sooo tainted that we end up giving up on God.
    wat. a. travesty.
God must be soooooo disheartened & devastated by wat religion has done in His name

Oxymoronic: Jesus and Christianity can be different? How? Christian means follower of Christ! What you guys don't like is the condemnation of sin. Jesus NEVER met a sinner that he healed of forgave that he did not tell them to go and sin no more. You guys love the fact that Jesus went amongst sinners, but you failed to understand why. Jesus was not received by his own, so Jesus went to those who had an ear to hear. The Jews were jealous of Christ because of him having knowledge and abilities given him by the Holy Spirit that they did not have. So, in turn Christ went to those in need of forgiveness and healing that would listen to his message. Christ never appoved of their sins, otherwise he would have left them in them. Jesus called out sin, and had the power to forgive it. Go and sin no more does not sound like his condoning sin. Also, if he came to take away the sins 1Jn. 3:5 why in the world would he have taken that brutal beating just to leave us in sin with his approval? The math ain't mathing. I love you all enough to tell you the truth in the hopes that you will repent before it's everlasting and too late.

I dislike, implicitly, that Abby feels the need to label their marriage as “gay marriage.” Abby and Glennon have a mutually respectful, loving and welcoming/accepting union. They are married: knitted together with the same goal and intention of living all their days with love, generosity of spirit and respect for the individual, exclusive, perfectly imperfect wife they vowed to cherish. What more could God want than to have two of His children thoroughly and completely committed to their vows to love, honor and respect one another? Let’s just leave it there... smash open the box of labeling a marriage as anything other than that. I just love their obvious love.

Kalyn Gibson no. You’re not a messenger, you are telling others what they should believe. If you choose to believe that a bunch of stories written by MEN are the word of God, then you do that. I know my God and He is love. He is always in my life and my heart. I’ll forgive your ignorance as soon as you accept that others’ perspectives aren’t wrong, they’re just different.

@@kalyngibson2206 I'll just be blunt here.. I am not religious and see the bible as an ancient text. I love my girlfriend just as much as any straight person loves their partner, there is no difference. You expect other people who don't even follow the same religion as you, to live based off of your beliefs? Because they are beliefs. And to expect something like that, is the most selfish, ego centrical mind set a person can have. If marrying someone from the same gender feels wrong to you (which i'm so sorry if that is the case, because there are so many people who live an entire life of depression, repression, and internalised homophobia, and many of those unfortunately end their own lives because of people like you.), don't marry someone of the same gender. But leave everybody else alone and sort out your own lives, be your own damn saviour. How would you feel if someone else wanted you to live based off of their beliefs? The US as founded with a separation between church and state and if you can't accept that, move. And back off of people preaching love and acceptance. You can stand firm on whoever's word you want, but the words that I follow are those of love, not some old book that I don't believe in. There are more religions than yours in this country and in the world, the majority of those following what feels right to them because it is their religion, not everyone else's.
