Something feels off about his body and face. Too...clean and tame, somehow. He injected himself with some vile concoction, but other than spikes in convenient places, nothing? No drawback for using moiras evil juice?
If the spike wall damages people near it, consider playing with a Mei and trap them between the two walls.. .can't get out and just bounce into the spikes constantly! :)
Hazard has a wall placement option where you can build it similar to how Mei does it. Shows the outline of where it will appear and you press the button again to confirm.
He seems kind of like doom, but you trade stuns for more damage. The abilities seem annoying to deal with when he dives, but nothing some basic team coordination can't shut down. I think he'll compete with someone like JQ in terms utility, though the lack of health gain is going to be a huge issue since he only has damage reduction. Good wall usage is definitely going to make or break players. edit: I totaly forgot that tanks have -150 health in the practice range, that bigger health pool definitely puts him on the stronger side
Guy seems like an anti dive tank, he has good roots, chase, and spread damage that doesnt require too much aiming, perfect for getting that slick genji or a running tracer
Every time i see something new from overwatch it just makes me sad...each change and addition is just farther and farther from what made the game so great. I won't even mention the awful monetization, or the disgrace of the story mode never coming out. Overwatch should have been the biggest IP of the decade, but was a masterclass in fumbling something truly special. It should have been an entire modern comic book universe spawning movies like the cinematics. It's just so disappointing that what at the time felt like that beginning of something great, was basically all that there was to it. The new characters are so uninspired, their kits lack the creative simplicity of early heroes. The game has died because there is literally no incentive to improvie your skill. The strongest characters in the game at a given time are almost always the easiest to play, and when highly skilled players find success on a difficult hero like genji, they nerd the hero so as to not intimidate potential new players. These new players never arrived. All they did was alienate those of us who invested time into getting better at the game just to lose games to power creep meta slaves. Blizzard should have had the monopoly on this game format. I remember a time when copies like paladins were laughed at. Marvel has taken the incentive to take this game in the obvious direction that players have long called for - showing a clear preference for high skill ceiling heroes.
I predict they increase the cooldown on that alt fire ability. Also, it would be cool if the wall shot out shards that damage when you break it with shooting it. That would allow you to strategically place it on ceilings or walls to rain down or side fire shards at people.
His leap may not be Doom or Winston levels of good, but I appreciate he has it at all. He won't be as boring as Mauga or Orisa, at least. Was really hoping he could have a height-based slam, similar to Hammond, activated with melee like how the teaser trailer had a Shockwave shown after his arm blade came out before the jump. That would lend more synergy to his structure creation as well as his wall-climbing. Having wall-climbing makes the limitations on his dash feel not as bad too. I worry for all the things his large body will get caught on. I already run into random lamps, signs, and other knick-knacks when I play as Genji and Hanzo. Turtle shell doesn't seem to last long enough. I'll take less damage dealt to enemies if it means lasting longer. It almost makes the resource meter pointless since it ends so quickly anyways. I know it's meant to be mixed with the wall and dash, but it just feels bad to be so short-lived. It's like if they made D.Va's full meter Matrix only last 1.5 seconds just because she also has dash. I think his ultimate is the most boring part of his kit. Overall, I like him but I would want some tweaks here and there.
I know you need the hyperbolic opening, but I think it’s a little early to say if he’s broken or not, it’s only been a morning. People thought juno was bad in her test and she ended up being really good. Ramattra also sounded broken on paper, and besides a few little aspects, he’s been one of the most balanced tank in the game. We need to play around with him for longer, we need to test his matchups, which we likely won’t be possible with everyone queueing on tank right now just to play him.
I wanted the rooting portion of his ult ability to be put on Lifeweaver so that any enemies who were in the tree range would have roots come out and momentarily hold them haha
i already found a bit of tech, for his leap, just spam melee, it activates his slash AND melee, so its just free damage. for his right click, im suprised they didn't make his projectiles based on when he takes damage. increase its range, and do THAT.
LOL and OW need to collab on a hero - it will have only dashes, be able to fly, jump, unkillable, wall climb, and CC everyone, all on their basic ability. Their ult just destroys their PCs directly.
I mean soj, kiri, mauga we’re absolutely OP on release. Hell, even the rock eater got mega nerfed after release & Juno is still top support. I’d say they’re right
@@unlucky5307 I’d say LW & JQ were the only normalish releases, maybe Ram too. He was really good but I don’t think broken. Illari tho.. absolute nightmare
Well, they're only rooted instead of frozen/stunned, it lasts a lot less than mei ult, does only a little bit of damage and doesn't cover a huge range. From what little I tested with him, his survivability seems to be a lot more problematic than anything else tbh.
Apparently a lot of people are saying he's gonna be broken, but I honestly don't think so. There IS a good chance he'll be a bit overtuned at launch (if they don't adjust much after this initial playtest), but in terms of his kit overall I don't think it'll be as bad as people are saying. The only thing that I think might be broken is Spike Guard, bc it not only does like 50% damage reduction or whatever, but it also attacks enemies, refills his ammo, AND is on a resource meter instead of a cooldown. I think that sounds pretty busted personally, but other than that, I think people are making a bigger deal of things than they need to be.
Bro his design in 3rd person is not extremely unique but his gameplay is absolutely crazy unique and cool. His design in first person is definitely unique and amazing. Brings some renovation without breaking the game it seems. But better addition than Mauga and Venture.
Make it so doomfist and rein can smash through the walls with their abilities and there’s added damage if they punch or charge someone through the wall, greater than when into a solid wall
Movement is winston/mauga lite. Ult is rein lite. Secondary fire is ramattra lite. Primary is hog/queen lite. And crystal thing is Mei wall 2.0. Blizz seem to be running out of ideas and are just playing 'mix n match: power creep edition'.
I feel like the kit design philosophy is similar to Juno's where they can do a lot of things which is fine for now but if they keep doing this in the future i think that's kinda unhealthy. Simplicity is best after all.
Lowkey he does not need that defense ability where he damages. He would be completely fine without it, and you’d have to decide to use your dash for engagement or disengagement like genji.
Hi stylo not sure if you know this but in controller settings you can actually have more control over his wall "jagged wall uses placement controls" with this you can do almost the same thing like Mei's wall and block entry points more accurate right now I am testing him on all of the maps with high areas and he is getting to them pretty easy 😆
So we have a Hero with Winston jump/ Junker queen slash/ Doom block with Ramatra ult/ Mei wall/ Mei freeze/ Genji klimb/ . Did I get everything? Dam this hero be all over the place. A most pick if you like to win a team fight.
i dunno, he kinda fills a gap between doomfist and ball, except in any situation that you would want that doomfist or ball would just be better and more fun
I think people are overreacting to his mobility, since we haven't had a new highly mobile tank since OW2 launched. Compare him to Doom or Dva and suddenly he doesn't seem so broken.

He's okay, not ridiculously broken like they're stating out there 🤷
Him and Sigma on Rule 34 is the only Xmas present I need.
@@Daisysunshyne gau
That's healthy for the game. A good tank that relies on player skill and team cohesion.
I bet you're just bad and he is super OP
@@MrWizardGG People don't know how to fight against him yet. Once counter meta is figured out we can discuss if he's OP or not.
Something feels off about his body and face. Too...clean and tame, somehow. He injected himself with some vile concoction, but other than spikes in convenient places, nothing? No drawback for using moiras evil juice?
I bet that wall can either completely cancel or block sig ult by putting it in the middle similar to what lifeweaver can do with tree and petal
Didn't that get removed?
sty said the same thing when Ram released saying his primary did way too much dmg
Jagged Wall reminds me of the Salvation's Grip launcher from Destiny 2
God, he's gonna be as broken as Stasis was
Blizzard: How much mobility do you want?
Hazard: Yes.
Literally has “Vault” and a Winston jump fym?
Dead game is dead
@@raptor_tgug2849 he can go all the way up walls, hes a lil to good with movement
12:55 goofy ahh laugh
As someone who plays a ton of Apex, wall climbing and clambering makes me so excited to try this guy. I wish more characters in Overwatch had this
Don’t really care about the new hero. I still have two weeks left to play classic.
Then I’m out of the game again lmao.
It's like they took Doomfist and Mei, threw away annoying parts and mashed them into one hero.
Always looking forward to Sty uploads.
10:07- they should do it like LW tree, a click to confirm.
If the spike wall damages people near it, consider playing with a Mei and trap them between the two walls.. .can't get out and just bounce into the spikes constantly! :)
the fact that he can wall climb is ridiculous
Justice rains from the purple spikey man!
His primary fire spread is so odd, it’s a sideways rectangle for some reason
first non shimada related character that can wall climb
Marvel rivals is coming, really looking forward to that game
Dont talk about that garbage game here

What stuns? Doomfist doesn't have any stuns he just jumps really far and often
You'd think that the first tank that can wall climb would be the gorilla
Literally not true, smart adults who have years of experience playing overwatch are easily capable of predicting if something is OP or not
I wanted the rooting portion of his ult ability to be put on Lifeweaver so that any enemies who were in the tree range would have roots come out and momentarily hold them haha
I think its important to mention that there is a setting where you can confirm the placement of the wall
Seeing you so giddy and hype for this is so wholesome
i already found a bit of tech, for his leap, just spam melee, it activates his slash AND melee, so its just free damage.
for his right click, im suprised they didn't make his projectiles based on when he takes damage. increase its range, and do THAT.
LOL and OW need to collab on a hero - it will have only dashes, be able to fly, jump, unkillable, wall climb, and CC everyone, all on their basic ability. Their ult just destroys their PCs directly.
Another OP tank, fantastic.
These people think every new hero is OP on release lol
yea, sometimes its over blown. the last healer that came out was a bit much. but this time im leaning the other way. this hero is overloaded
I mean soj, kiri, mauga we’re absolutely OP on release. Hell, even the rock eater got mega nerfed after release & Juno is still top support. I’d say they’re right
It often is the case though, especially when they tried charging for the new characters.
@@PokePhan lifeweaver rn: 😭
@@unlucky5307 I’d say LW & JQ were the only normalish releases, maybe Ram too. He was really good but I don’t think broken. Illari tho.. absolute nightmare
I don't think the game needed a 2nd Mei ult tbh
@@bubba8701 and wall lol
@mercyrezme6468 I actually don't mind the wall
Well, they're only rooted instead of frozen/stunned, it lasts a lot less than mei ult, does only a little bit of damage and doesn't cover a huge range.
From what little I tested with him, his survivability seems to be a lot more problematic than anything else tbh.
You’re lucky cause this is not a mei wall
it only stops movement, you can still use other stuff unlike a mei freeze
Jagged Wall reminds me a lot of Viscous' (from Valve's Deadlock game)Puddle Punch, also can be used for both CC and mobility.
In my imaginary rework, i was thinking on giving roadhog the ability to throw piles of jubk to make small walls, i guess this is almost the same
Winston and Doomfist: 🙈😧
Hazard: 🗿
As a support main, I don’t look forward to being attacked by him however, supporting him as Lucio or even Bap can be interesting
Make it so doomfist and rein can smash through the walls with their abilities and there’s added damage if they punch or charge someone through the wall, greater than when into a solid wall
bros really wearing sunglasses inside a room
i have never been so glad to be wrong in my life, HAZARD IS AWESOME. Can't wait to try to cram him into my RWBY/Overwatch Fanfic
Movement is winston/mauga lite. Ult is rein lite. Secondary fire is ramattra lite. Primary is hog/queen lite. And crystal thing is Mei wall 2.0. Blizz seem to be running out of ideas and are just playing 'mix n match: power creep edition'.
him having a vault to climb ledges and his wall would be a lot of fun but having full-on wall climb is overkill and doesn't really makes sense on him
Great review, thank you!!
He's speaking to us in the language we understand : PURPLE VIOLENCE ! ! ! !
thats exactly what i want from a tank: to be destructive, CC and MIT. a tank need to be dangerous in any game
The classic ow move, going into training room talking about how broken a character is without even checking out them in a real match
I feel like the kit design philosophy is similar to Juno's where they can do a lot of things which is fine for now but if they keep doing this in the future i think that's kinda unhealthy. Simplicity is best after all.
Its not even fine for now, it's going to hurt the game noticeably right away
ah yes, simplicity, because everyone wants to only be able to do 3 things with there tank character at any one time. Boringggggg
The real burst is Shift Fire Shift fire.
Leap, fire melee into fire. Similar to winston but easier because no charging winston canon.
Hazard is what happens when you take genji's mobility and mei's defence and turn it into a tank. This guy is a very weird tank.
I guess all hero abilities are broken since it feels like it's in every new hero video title
Correct, since ow2, nearly every new hero has been broken on launch to help sell battlepasses.
@@MrWizardGG New heroes aren't in BP anymore, they are unlocked by default.
@widzu95_ I know that, but they still sell micro transactions to get mythic currency right??? If he's not played, no mythic buys.
@widzu95_ that literally doesn't matter at all. His skins are still purchasable with real money.
@widzu95_ idk why my comment keeps deleting. But it doesn't need to be in battle pass, he'll be OP to sell mythic skins, which do cost money.
Lowkey he does not need that defense ability where he damages. He would be completely fine without it, and you’d have to decide to use your dash for engagement or disengagement like genji.
His trailer showed his ult beating Mauga run. They played us lol
Hi stylo not sure if you know this but in controller settings you can actually have more control over his wall "jagged wall uses placement controls" with this you can do almost the same thing like Mei's wall and block entry points more accurate right now I am testing him on all of the maps with high areas and he is getting to them pretty easy 😆
so they took the best ability from every tank, buffed it, and put it into on character. his ult is literally a better rein ult
When the ow hero DONT look like an ow hero at all but gameplay wise looks good
Doomfist punch into hazard wall is going to be hilarious
1 tank per team
This is gonna a be a great tank
Great tank that you’re going to suffer trying to eliminate
So we have a Hero with Winston jump/ Junker queen slash/ Doom block with Ramatra ult/ Mei wall/ Mei freeze/ Genji klimb/ . Did I get everything?
Dam this hero be all over the place. A most pick if you like to win a team fight.
Record breaking, the first non-Japanese character to be able to wall climb
nobody is mentioning it but his voice lines are from 'Firestarter' by Prodigy
He’s most definitely going to be my main, his story is pretty cool, I love his character, and his kit looks super fun
i dunno, he kinda fills a gap between doomfist and ball, except in any situation that you would want that doomfist or ball would just be better and more fun
Actually seems pretty balanced with a high skill ceiling just his gun needs to be in check
I think people are overreacting to his mobility, since we haven't had a new highly mobile tank since OW2 launched. Compare him to Doom or Dva and suddenly he doesn't seem so broken.
He should get a Bowser skin if we ever get a Nintendi collab!
Seems like a character made for 6v6 idk how well he’s going to do in 5v5.
He's a thorns tank. Literally, spikey boy.
Is it just me, or have the new heroes’ ultimates been so lame lately?
especially mauga
I mean Juno's is good
