My first attempt at a somewhat longer video than normal. I learned a lot making it. Definitely have respect for UA-camrs who constantly churn these out. Hope you enjoy.
You put out 3 hq vids a week g we appreciate you more than you think😭
We would have a good 8 minute video than a longer less quality video so do not worrry about the length
I was going to comment that I really enjoyed this timeline/arch style video. Really important to tell the whole ups and downs story to setup the final game and next year. Great job homie!
Andy the only thing I dont like about you are your bitch ass drama parts on some videos even if that bring views, besides that, you are cool man, nice work
Not joking this is your best video ever (also, I love the intro)
wishing a HEALTHY career to this kid
it's a good thing he got to Spurs with Pop. Even with losing, he'll learn a lot from him instead of getting high numbers on a bad team with losing culture.
Pops worked with some incredible talent, and I hope Wemby learns a lot from him.
Shame Chip isn't there anymore, he's ironically relocated to OKC. Dude was the reason Kawhi went from a defensive specialist to a two way superstar.
Pop knew how talented Wemby is. And he purposely did this embarrassing way to make Wemby learn lessons in his rookie season. Yes there is learning in losing. Next top it is time for Spurs to turn around their fate next season.
He deserves a solid team built around him
@@localneo-graphic4647 Noooo, Chip is gone?? As far as I know, he is the premier shooting coach in the world 😞 (Spurs fan)
So Wemby's highest scoring ball thrown to fan in crowd, fined 25K, took ball from kid
so wemby invites him to next game where its his last rookie game and its against the former champs and he reverses momentum overcomes the joker and spurs win it and gives the kid that ball
dude is one HECK of a class act.
love this kid more and more with everything i learn about him.
epic to witness
And then he denied getting on stage with Drake because his teammates couldn’t come. Dude is def class act and going to the the goat one day 🐐 💯
how do you know this happened though
@@polerust3524it's on the fucking video dude
Broooooo this has to be one of if not the best videos you’ve made to date!!! The way you were able to perfectly capture Wemby’s rookie season. I’m so hyped right now!! 🔥🔥🔥
Wow, thanks!
@@AMHoops I second that. Great job from you, bro. Love the channel. Keep up the good work.
@@AMHoops i agree, your best video keep up
This guy will be the next best generational talent. The fact he has the skillset and handles of a guard for a 7’4 guy is extremely impressive. Wemby will be an all time legend by the end of his time. I immediately became a fan of him after this year.
If he stay healthy
@@pinbarbecue1100 Derrick rose is a legend and he basically only had a few seasons to prove it. Even though he didn't have the career he should have, we still know it was legendary. Wemby would be the same. He is already one of the best ever players, he's just only played one season so far. Just like Luka. There's no denying it. But obviously let's hope he stays healthy!
Pop has a clear record of turning strong defensive players into champions
Honestly unbelievable when you look back at it in retrospect. Impossible hype, set up to fail, and Victor still succeeded.
Victor was the victor?
I think you should continue these type of videos, definitely one of my favorites.
Facts 💯💯💯🔥🔥
Where are all the haters from Wembys first summer leauge game, people thought he was a bust after 1 summer leauge game well jokes on them.
They will never admit it was the exact same with Brandon miller aswell complete idiots 😂
@@killiemucken the mascot needs to be held accountable.
I don't think anyone doubted the kid's ability to hoop. It was concern over being injury prone. But I think he's proved his footwork, flexibility and pace is great for his frame. He should be fine.
@@noahx.classicYeah. No, yes for some the concern was injury. But there were a lot of people hoping he'd fail. They took the first game as he's a bust.
I saved that on my UA-cam likes.
I go back and mess with the naysayers. 😂

If this is true, Wemby is legitimately the nicest dude out there. Giving another game ball, hell, an even more important game ball, to that kid because of the officials taking the last one is truly class on Wemby's part. I love Wemby's character as much as I love his ball. GO SPURS!
And you've got former NBA player who says that he is a disrespectful young player because he denied Brunson the ball from his 60+ pts game in a loss...
Imagine owning Jordan's ball from his last game as a rookie, and it's signed by Jordan himself, with a whole story behind it. If Wemby becomes part of the GOAT conversation in 20 years, that ball is going to be incredibly valuable. Unbelievable generosity.
that's why he's PERFECT for the Spurs.
He's both a humble, down to earth good dude but also ruthlessly competitive.
If this dude stays consistent and healthy he might have the potential to be a GOAT.
MJ fans won't allow that ever
im mj fan...i eill allow it if he deserces it@@paulievespucci6867
Sadly, this type of players never stays healthy.
@@paulievespucci6867 Why MJ fans, because they say Bron is not the best ever?
@@Samito07 Have you ever tried changing the minds of 40+ year old males? Because that is the majority of MJ fans
Wemby missing DPOY will be looked back upon like Curry missing FMVP in 2015
Not even close lol. Find a single dpoy player in last 35 years that got the award at the bottom of a conference. 35-47 is the worst I can find and that's out of 35 years, and they were still 8th from what it says.
@@noahx.classic we talking about defensive player of the year or defensive team of the year? Sound like you're talking about DTOY lmao that ain't even a real award guy
@@noahx.classicNobody has ever impacted his team on and off the court. The facts are that when he is on the court, he has the biggest impact more than anyone in the league.
Disagree, mainly because Wemby will be a perennial candidate anyways (so much so that I'm sure he'll miss some DPOY awards in the future due to voter fatigue). This wasn't exactly a snub either, as Gobert has a legit case. If we're looking at this from a consistency perspective, Wemby was definitely caught out of position at times, especially in the first half of the season. He can sometimes be bullied by stockier big men as well, as shown by Jokic on a couple occasions. I still think Wemby should win DPOY, but he'll have plenty in his trophy case by the end of his career. Not really comparable with a FMVP snub.
@@noahx.classic If that is your logic then Derrick White or Porzingis should win DPOY with #1 Boston having the best record by a wide margin.
Im from Brasil and became a Spurs fan because of Wemby, i cannot put in words how excited i am to watch him play in the next years.
love that inside story with the high school fan. very compelling storytelling, great job man
Thanks a ton!
Imma keep that ball for life. Wemby is a legend for that.
Was that you?
one of his best traits, is he isnt afraid of anything, reminds me a lil bit of mike and kobe
THAT right there is actually his craziest trait imo. I haven’t seen a true Spur show the kind of mamba mentality he displays and he does not back away from big moments. He’s not afraid to fail and honestly if I wasn’t a Spurs fan, that would be terrifying to me lol. Kobe would give me the same vibes and I definitely was on the other side of that mentality a lot lol.
@@SamuelSaenz-rt8btbrother forgot about Tim Duncan, he was definitely in the same cloth of kobe and jordan mentally, just too introvert for nephews to know it
@@SamuelSaenz-rt8btDuncan was the same. He just wasn't flashy and in your face about it. Garnett and Cousins will tell you.
When the Spurs won in 2003 it was the team most dependent in a single player (Duncan) to ever capture the championship alongside Houston & Olajuwon in 94.
love this new longer style content you tried in this video. Definetly felt refreshing watching this from you, good stuff
Glad to hear!
Great video. Sometimes, years later, fans and media try to rewrite history because they dont remember all the nuance that was present in the moment. Thats why I like videos like this that show all the ups and downs over the course of the season, it makes a lot of stuff make a lot more sense when looking back
Great point!
I love the story with Wemby and the high school kid. The dude just looks like he manifests wins at times, its like looking at a superhero, but as a rookie 👀 Great job on the vid!
This guy will be the next best generational talent. The fact he has the skillset and handles of a guard for a 7’4 guy is extremely impressive. Wemby will be an all time legend by the end of his time. I immediately became a fan of him
wishing a blessing of a career to him absolutely
Been watching only since last year but keep it up u my favorite analyst ❤
I appreciate that!
Your videos had turned me to an NBA Fan, You are by far the best analyst, content perfect, tune perfect 😃, knowledge perfect. Your work is really great.
The pacing and narrative building was so good in this video broooo! Love it
Appreciate it!
Wemby have that fiery passion for the game that some nba American players don’t have. Respect for Wemby 🫡
OMG, the video is so good, I don't know what really changed from your already good videos before but this one feels amazing, thank you for all this amazing content
Thanks for showing Wemby some love! He deserves it. I also really like the longer video format. The game ball story was nice too. I thought I knew everything about Wemby this season but somehow I missed that. What a legend move!
Superb vid, Casey. Though you think it's long, it's actually concise given it's summarizing a whole season in a genuinely well-thought-out way. And what a season it was for Wemby. It's exhillirating to think about what he can become.
Great job on summarizing his first year. Can’t wait for the second year and your future videos.
Wemby definitely deserved a longer vid.
i love this longer video. you go deeper than usual and what more can I ask that you make the first one with Wemby. GSG!
This was an amazing video! We need more wemby content like this!!
Amazing video. A perfect recap about Wembys season with all the ups and down. Keep it up!
Amazing video. You hit all that high points and gave awesome context to things like the sochan experiment, wembys reluctance to play center, and the dpoy impact.
Tremendous job man. Subscribed.
man this video is HEAT 🔥🔥
Love this style of content. It feels like it has more structure and narrative to it.
This video was elite, man. Good stuff!
I love this format! You should create more of this
We love these longer videos ❤🎉
Great analysis. Wemby really needs more support from the teammates. A better supporting cast will help him improve and dominate the league even more. Keep up the good work! 🏀
Excellent content in timely fashion! Thank you
Love the experimentation in this video
Oh man I was at that OKC game Wemby took over in the fourth and it was my favorite Spurs regular season game I have been to in decades. Only other regular season game I have been to that I'd say was as exciting was David Robinson's first game in 1989.
Wemby is now my favourite young player to watch in the NBA, he is a two-way player being aggressive on the D. Yeah I said it, the D, literally. He has the IT-factor, if he continues to improve even with age as long as he's healthy, this is gonna be interesting to see. Bonne Chance Victor.
Great video bro ! Love the longer vids
Great video keep them coming
Bro is a 2K Player, really unbelievable and this is yet his rookie season. He is gonna be scary for seasons to come
This kid has proved he’s something special. I can’t wait for his sophomore season.
Great informative video man! Glad i watched.
these longer videos are so fire!
My man can pump out the best video like this?! *Keep it up!*
one of ur best videos so far. I am just hoping for him to stay healthy for career
Great job. Keep up the great work man👍
Excited to see him in the playoffs again one day - dude is a true competitor
love this type of video
Love the longer video!
Loving the longer length of this video
Bring both em back fr, by far one y’all best video s
This style of commentary videos are 🔥 please make more!
He should be DPOY.
I'm an instant fan 👽
Awesome Video!! Really appreciate this!! Cant wait to see Wemby in the Summer Olympics and into the next season!
I hope so too!
Your best ever video, amazing job!
Wow, thanks!
He is such a incredible player and person giving that ball to that kid
Great video, great editing, engaging pace, content on point, well played sir
Much appreciated!
Wemby is a full alien..
love your videos keep fire
🔥🔥🔥 Video !
Damnnnnnnnn wemby and chet rival arc is larger than I thought.
That's some protagonist vs prodigy type of plot right there.
I wish both of them long careers, would make NBA so fun to watch.
great video start to finish!
I remember when the Spurs traded Dejounte away and you predicted Wemby going to them lol. Your experience as a journalist really shows through your videos. Keep up the good work.
Wemby is the NBA’s future ❤
I loved this long vid, more please
Love all your videos. Great job
Thanks so much!
The only thing that stops this kid from one day being the GOAT is injuries IMO. It's like he was genetically engineered to dominate basketball.
I enjoyed this longer format of video. Would love to see a Jokic vs Doncic MVP comparison in this longer style.
He so young the future is bright for him the sky is the limit
Awesome deep dive in to wemby’s season.!👽
You make some of my favorite nba content so seeing you experiment with longer videos is def a bonus. Great work per usual.
Appreciate it!
I've been to 6 NBA games in my life, I was at that Spurs v Bucks game where Wemby went toe to toe with Giannis. That game BY FAR was the best NBA game I have seen in my life just by how exciting it was seeing Victor and Giannis go at it.
Praying Wemby stays healthy for a very long time. Excited to see him grow and improve his game.
Good videos man..have confidence in yourself and capabilities.
I am so hyped for this kid, and I don’t watch basketball. That’s how amazing this video was. Now I know what nutmegging and shamgodding are.
Liked the longer format and the editing was above and beyond those crazy edits you usually do. Too much affiliation with gambling for me to re-subb but maybe someday I'll get back to the fold.
like the format a lot
Nice, something new yet familiar❤❤❤
I nominate this as the best NBA related video of the year if there is such an award!!! Just a little bit adjustment and advice: you cut the Adam Silver pick selection audio too early .. at least let him mentioned Wembanyama's name in full (I think an extra 4 seconds will do it perfectly fine). Other than that this is way beyond lit man!
Great video
fire video man
Appreciate it
I’m scared this is the last time we see wemby this average💀💀
Cap
Just based on his rookie campaign and many things can obviously still go wrong, there is a good chance given the fact that the Spurs are a great organisation that this is actually the one prospect to rival michael jordan and Kareem.
While I as a Dallas Fan and German will most likely hate every minute of it, as a lover of the Sport I wish him the most glorious career that is possible, the boy deserves it.
I‘m gonna start calling him Napoleon from this season forward because the man is here to conquer it all! I guess the time to proclaim the dynasty of the Emperor could happen sooner than later, begrudgingly I’ll state „Vive la France“.
Awesome recap. Did you mention he checked himself in a game, breaking his minutes restriction to score and be awesome for a minute or so? What a dawg.
Wemby will be scary in the years to come. With more experience and a team built around him, with another star and good roleplayers, not to mention a great coach, he might dominate the nba for several years.
You mention his hands, how he converts some of his lobs is absolutely incredible. He doesn't have quite the hops of Anthony Davis, so despite his greater range, he sometimes just doesn't have the hang time to convert it into a dunk. Doesn't matter, he'll get that ball in the basket somehow before he lands.
He’s gonna be a generational player. Period
Not gonna lie I prefer this long form content from you. This video raised the quality bar a lot higher
ROY and DPOY. Anything less is an injustice.
Love the long video! I get these are hard work, but doing these occasionally would be warmly welcomed.
Glad you like them!
already a fan before he entered the league but what he did to that high school kid makes me wanna travel to USA just to watch and support wemby play (im from asia lol)
great video Casey! good to see you venturing out on a longer video! only one thing, a bit of EQ on the mic or an extra pop filter (or just mic a bit futher out), those plosives where quite harsh which you never had with the previous setup ;)
I loved how you did a longer video, can you keep doing longer videos?
Great video! I didn't know about how he invited that kid to the Nuggets game after the league took the game ball from him ❤.
Also, around 5:55, you talk about how his teammates kept missing Wemby on offense. I remember a video you posted earlier this season where you argued against this narrative by citing his high usage percentage. Well well, who's agreeing now 😉
Been a Spurs fan for some years but was not having any Wemby Kool-aid. I figured the odds were very much against it working out for him. Then I watched him play. Even in those shaky first games and that midway slump, I couldn't believe the court vision and IQ and maturity I was seeing, and he is way stronger and quicker than I thought he'd be with that build. And he's got the competitive fire and just an exemplary attitude. So I'm sold, and I hope San Antonio can hang onto him.
