Dear Vlad, thank you for doing this interview. I'm not just a fan of her's who grew up in this era, but always wanted to know her story. Roxanne Shante, thank you for speaking to me in this video about being who you are when the haters are in the room. This whole interview speaks volumes of who you are as a women.
I started researching her after I saw that clip about her in the Beef DVD and she has many interviews out there where she is talking about going back to school and really helping her community without being loud about it. That day KRS stopped thinking of her as a little girl and respected her as a young woman and MC. Roxanne is the only person I seen bring Mo'Nique back to her childhood in a good way. I can't wait for the Monie Love story. Lauryn Hill, Rah Digga and all the Queens.

When I was growing up in Greensboro, North Carolina, back in the day, my father's best friend, who was from Philadelphia, would go home to visit his family from time to time and would bring back these WBLS mixtapes featuring DJ Marley Marl and the first song I remember by her was "Roxanne's Revenge".
