- Short version for my documentary film FAST EDDIE.
** An official selection for the Ironstar International Short Film Festival 2017
WINNER Local Talent Award **
"Fast Eddie" Lafferty - the harmonica playing busker and well known face on the streets of Dundee, Scotland - has been playing the harmonica since he was 7 years old, nearly 50 years of playing "the harp". This is Fast Eddie and the streets are his stage.
"Fast Eddie is a tremendously heart warming and inspiring piece of documentary by Greig Stott and I'm so glad it was made to highlight such a pure human being. Eddie, for those that don't know him, is a local treasure in Dundee, busking in the city centre playing his harmonica , he's a staple of the city's positive image and a big part of the community. It's difficult to see - or rather hear before you see - this man without a smile leaking onto your face because he is an inspiring role model and the film showcases his generosity, his story and struggle and the impressive free spirit that he is..." Over 31,000 organic views on UA-cam, people are watching this and enjoying every single day, which I really appreciate and love that they are coming across and being introduced to some of my work and the unique personality that is Fast Eddie 🙏❤️
He's always been cool with me. He's extremely respectful when he comes into the charity shop that I volunteer at. No haggling, no shoplifting, no bad behaviour
Thanks for helping my short documentary film FAST EDDIE reach over 10,000 views on you tube, people from all over the world have been introduced to the city of Dundee, Scotland and FAST EDDIE just through our little 22 minute film from 2017 - thanks again 🎥📷🎬❤❤❤
Great documentary film. Dundee was a town full of free spirited 'characters' like Eddie in the 60s/70s. Thank you Greig.

"I've just had the pleasure of watching this....What a beautiful insight into such a character. Put the kettle on, pour a cup o tea and spend the next 20mins learning about a true working class Dundee Icon. Bravo to Greig Stott for your documentary..." Ian Black (Scottish songwriter/musician) 👍❤
hey @@jonpol8900 just noticed this comment, if we can't lift and "blow our own trumpets" who else is going to? Now be quiet, thanks for stopping by.
Over 29,000 organic views now on UA-cam and millions on other platforms, I plan to release some special inspired footage captured on my visit back to Scotland recently with Eddie, a "sequel" of sorts, perhaps? 🤔 🙏📽️🫂♥️
Oi' oi', the intro shot was like right infront of my house. I see Fast Eddie everyday when coming home f' School too; he's a cheery sight to see after a long day of depressing education.
Thanks for checking it out, appreciate it :)
That education will help you in later life. Keep studying, it’s worth it. 👍🏼
Greig, this is a great film.
Thank you so much Silver Surfer, I appreciate you taking time to watch and comment, thanks a lot 👍🙌❤
Happy good lads
When an actor you grew up watching (especially in my favourite film of all time The Wanderers) private messages and tells you he enjoys your work, it is going to put a big smile on your face 😃🎞️🎬🎥♥️
Tony Ganios (who played Perry in The Wanderers as well as Meat in the classic early 80s Bob Clark comedy Porky's) said he liked my short version of FAST EDDIE - a documentary film and went on to say this:
"Fast Eddie just may be one of the angels God sends among us in disguise. The latter thought occurred to me when I saw the way the little children reacted to him. There is a deep and abiding good in the man...." ♥️
No way!!!! Perry from the wanderers??? That's amazing man! I loved him in that and the wee cameo he did in Rising Sun w/ Sean Connery. That is awesome!
Ive always wanted to walk to fast eddie but im too scared of him haha and why does bro have so many harmonicas 😭
Don't be scared, he usually loves people coming up and talking to him. Like most of us, we have our up and down days 🙏❤️
Thanks for making this it’s great I always enjoy going PST him
This man screams in my face whenever I walk past him
It really change my view about this guy. I have always seen hobo-junkie kind of person. What I see now, is a massive, bright soul. Respect mate!
Thanks for watching and sharing your comments ✌👍❤
@@GreigStott I'm amazed pal. I'm polish, 14 years in Scotland, I'm not from Dundee but seen that guy many times and my view of him as above and after watching that movie I feels like I want shake his hand.
Congratulations on a fantastic short film Greig!!!
Thank you very much Geoff C - appreciate it! 👊🤗❤

Watching this now must bring back fond memories and make you miss home just a bit, doesn't it? 😀👌👊🤗👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 sorry, there just aren't enough thumbs up for this! I just came across the bit near the end where Eddie talks about his age and I found out he is my age! 😊
Hey Susan Millard - thank you for the kind words, happy you enjoyed it. I have so much more footage that I will be sharing more videos, clips and editing into a longer film eventually also 😊👍🎥🎬🎞❤

Hi Greig, this was wonderful. I tell you I like hearing how the people around Eddie spoke about him, you captures lovely footage, just great production. Everyone has a story, and everyone's story matters. Eddie certainly seems to be always happy, may be forever keep his spirits up.
Thank you Glitzalicious by Eve Sparkle for watching and checking out, appreciate the comments and support 😊🤗👍❤

Greig Stott 😉
A gentleman
What a legend
Thanks for watching and commenting
This guy is awesome what a star
God Bless Eddie.... A good soul
he’s the heart and soul of dundee let’s be honest
facts
He's a character aright most the normal aines wide berth he can be a pain in the hole tae lol he's happy enough though that's ah that matters.
It's funny when you hear the older wifies walking past saying to there wee buddies "move away fae him" or wish he'd bloody shut up noisy soneso" haha! Definitely a love hate and hate thing there we him 😆
There used to be another we man whare he stands before he showed up don't know what happened to him but he was always there in that spot I mind him fae my night clubbing days oot on toon or kicking about as a teenager I'm sure he played a mouth peice too sometimes he wore the one man band outfit!
When did you learn your Organ?? She didn't even know that it's a harmonica 😂
A lot of people would call it a "mouth organ"
Fast Eddie is amazing
I allways see him
Mind that wee yellow button you'd press at asda to make the chickens make cluck back in the day? Aye well give us a hybrid version of that and Desperate Dan, but instead it's Eddie and his harmonica tunes. Wee copper statue outside boots wi yellow button to make um cluck tae, donations welcome -- v&a paid for
😟
Always outside the overgate
Thanks for commenting and watching ❤
Related to Kieron Foster?
Not sure who Kieron Foster is? 🤨
@@GreigStott He's a legend, one of the best most valuable people in Dundee. 😌
The guy can be sweet, most of the time he is a nuisance, interferes with other buskers and shouts at people aggressively. Not pleasant to have in any city, particularly as Dundee is supposed to be 'on the up we' can not have barflies like Eddie spoiling it. Dundee council should limit how much he is allowed to bus and not at peak hours of the day.
Shut yir puss yi stupid wee fanny ,the man's just trying to get by ....i personally think he's a credit to the city & puts a smile on a lot of people's faces
He might be in jail soon sadly
☹
This man is a pain in the arse,
Shame we can't all be perfect like your good self
You clearly support a man who intimidates kids, elderly and is a racist ? At least we know who the vile piece of shit is
