Flying Amtrak Trains 125-150 MPH Since 5/28/22 (4K)

- Several Amtrak groups I’m in had confirmed Acela Express trains will be running up to 150mph through the Princeton Junction area, 140-145mph through Jersey Av & Hamilton stations. The 140-150mph speed limit reaches north & south between County Interlocking at Jersey Av & Trenton station in NJ. This video also includes NJ Transit express trains, weekday deadheads & regular scheduled Amtrak trains. Enjoy, taken early June 2022
I love seeing the Amfleet cars moving fast. Despite their age, it was a very capable design.
So do i, i just wish Amtrak kept the phase 2, 3 & 4 amfleets, railfanning would’ve been way more enjoyable
But the sad news is that the new Amtrak airo fleets are gonna replace then
Love the night Princeton Jct. segment. Reminds me of going there on Friday nights to parades of GG1's and E44's and long freights. Brought back wonderful memories! Quite a racetrack now !
Nice to see Amtrak’s trains at their fullest capability here!
Thank god for this station
And at their fullest speed, even the regional trains are going more fast
I was a signalman for Amtrak about 25 years ago On the NEC from Penn to Philly. If you think these trains look fast on video, in reality they're insanely faster than they appear here. When working on the tracks, or signals, the INSTANT you see a headlight 4 miles down the horizon, you literally have only a few seconds to get in the clear. Especially in the Princeton jct area. But look on the bright side, if you ever got hit by a 150 mph Acela, it would be quick and painless. You'd be vaporized instantly. Go to central jersey all you foamers if you've never seen these ground missiles in person. Worth the trip
Princeton Junction is one of the best stations to railfan, especially one of my favorites
honestly I had no clue how fast the Acela looked until videos like this, I have ridden an Acela twice but inside you know its fast but do not really have the perspective of just how fast.
Well said !! You should write a Short-Book !!

What a beautiful testimony for rail travel! Maybe USA will catch up with Europe, Asia and see the value of mass transport freeing congested auto travel. Thank you for a rewarding video!
It would be nice & thanks
@@jayydarailfaner549 it's already starting to happen

@@vitaliyandflyder766 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cause maybe they are..........................
I really enjoyed watching this. I really felt like I was there. I don't get to train spot on the NEC because I live in the Midwest.
I always though that American trains were mega slow in comparison with Europe. Im relieved I was wrong.
Not even gonna lie, 75% of this line is jacked up lol
this is the only place in all of north america with high speed rail
Those NJT double deckers remind me of a train I took into Chicago once when on a trip to one of the burbs but still wanting to see the city itself. The difference of course these NJT trains do not get held up by freight trains.
Because Norfolk southern and csx don't own those rails
Could probably get MUCH FASTER speeds on this nice long stretch of straight. The curves at each end of it don't look too restrictive either.💯
They’re not, speeds in between in this location & New Brunswick could be slightly faster, the Amfleet sets might have a chance of hitting 135mph between New Brunswick & Hamilton stations
The motion blur really puts into perspective how freaking fast these trains are going. The camera is having a hard time capturing it!
Not quiet sure wdym here

Where is Princeton Junction located at? Because I have always wanted to record Amtrak trains to put up on my UA-cam channel.
I only ask because I am autistic.

I saw online that NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line is the most busy Train Line in the country, that's a fact.
On the northeast side yes mam ☺️ feel free to check out more from me

Those Acelas can COOK at Princeton Junction, sheesh!
Been at it for over a year now ☺️
One thing I notice after watching this video (unless I missed it somewhere) is why was there no video of Amtrak's Crescent train 19 or 20 on this video?
The subtitle “Amtrak Crescent 19” was stated at 29:58, not sure how you missed that. As for 20, i didn’t film that one because it had stopped at Princeton Junction & it’s really stupid for Amtrak to even have an LD train stopping there
I’m from jersey so how about the 12 car arrow III moving in that middle track like the Acela
It was a deadhead but the driver had it moving

How old are those amfleet cab cars?
I would say at least 4 decades i think overtime they been painted and repainted thought the years from phase 1 to 5 schemes
The AmFleet cab cars are repurposed Metroliner cars

PASSING AT SPEED 200 Km
For the acelas it's 241 km
52:50 I can tell you for a fact he was doing over 150😮💨
Perhaps 155 😉
Thanks for the video i find it pretty entertaining, do you know if they go at least 125 miles an hour for the whole north east corridor?
sadly they don’t because most of the tracks on the northeast corridor are horribly built & too curvy
@@jayydarailfaner549 oh for real well hopefully one day, hey thanks for replying 😃
@@jayydarailfaner549 the northeast corridor really wasn't designed for high speed rail
Awesome trains 👌💯
Good captures 👍👍
Thanks Ms Ma’am 😇
Very nice catches
Thanks Mr NJT. I’ll be at Rahway railfanning tomorrow or Friday
What does deadhead mean in railroad terms?
What would really be nice if a line was developed for the entire United States Eastern seaboard. The United States Atlantic bullet line from Boston Massachusetts to Jacksonville Florida, stopping in one city in each state it travels through. You could move millions of americans up and down the entire United States Eastern seaboard with great comfort each year. Reaching speeds of up to 225 mph and not a ripple on your martinis. 4 to 6 hours by bullet would be better than 11.5 to 12.5 hours by car or 13 to 14 hours by EV. This would also put the United States of America on the list of top 5 fastest trains on earth. Far cry from maglev super train technology which reaches speeds of up to 375mph but better late than never. Hats off to the far more advanced countries of the far east and Europe. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream.....
A good collection of 🚂 's the only thing I wish it was only Amtrak
Why? The more trains the better the video
When’s the best time to see the most trains(possibly the new Acela being tested)
I would probably be at Hamilton and or Princeton Junction
The most trains usually from 5:30 am till around 11:30pm
16:33 why does the Carolinian have a Northeast Regional Cafe Car?
Not sure but I believe all Amfleet 1 full cafe cars say Northeast Regional on it
@@jayydarailfaner549 The 48100 series Cafe/Club do not.
