One should _always_ offer a respectful hand to their international allies that they've served alongside. Much respect, Pete. Thank you for your service.
I know that our (the US) military is pretty much the scariest on the planet, but it's nice whenever we're willing to give our dues to our allies. An important understanding when it comes to military superiority is that allies are not to be needlessly disgraced. Given how buddy-buddy we are with the EU, it'd be in our best interests to remember that at least a _little_ more often than we've been doing.

I, myself, served on a 'boomer' (ballistic missile submarine), and I can testify to their readiness and their stealthiness. We exited Guam, and submerged. At about 250 to 300 feet below the surface, there is a temperature inversion that reflects surface sonar. That means the enemy 'fishing trawler' surface ships can no longer find us. This means that we can go ANYWHERE, and the enemy can no longer know where we are. When I served ( 40+ years ago) I was aboard the USS Nathan Hale (now retired and scrapped) which carried Polaris missiles. We had 16 missiles, and each had a {classified} number of individually targetable warheads. Current subs carry more missiles, and each have more warheads ... and we have more of them, than when I served. These are ACTIVE warships, not static "Minuteman" occasionally inspected installations. So, no matter who starts a nuclear war, WE WILL END IT! The most horrible part ... is that NO ONE wins a nuclear war!!!!!!

The US has silos all over the states. It’s considered to be almost impossible to find these unless you stumble on them. A lot of people hike trails and find abandoned buildings that house ICBM silos.

What is concerning is since the Iraq war the military has shrunk in size considerably due to depleted government funds for a variety of reasons relying more on reservists . In the Iraq war 2003 the UK deployed around 60000 active troops and mechanized units , the largest deployments since WW II. This level of deployment is not possible now which is unfortunate

I was on a boomer (Ballistic Missile Submarine) from 05-10. We drilled daily on “Battlestations Missile” as we called it. It was second nature to employ these weapons systems within minutes of the launch message being received. Probably as efficient and effective as any system on earth. Sure hope our countries leaders can keep us from using them, it would not end well for any of us.

He talked about hearing the ice when they were under parts of the ice caps. I don't know what he did but he one of those people with a alphabet behind his name and he was pretty high in the Navy. He is a 2nd cousin so I'm not real close to him. He has a hard time talking with us common people. I do enjoy hearing what he could tell us about the subs. We went to the ship memorial in North Carolina and toured the retired ships. I can't imagine how big the new ones are. Thank you for your service and much respect for serving in a tin can.

Then you might agree..... submarines are probably the only people that will be left unscathed if a nuclear war happens. Those people in each sub, may be the only people on earth that has a place to live that escapes the fall out world wide. And it's possible, submarines are probably the only way to avoid global destruction, natural or man-made.
Truth be told, those are probably the best people, we want to re-populate the earth, the majority of sub operators are in shape, healthy an of high intelligence, more the likely the whole boat has intelligence well above average. Makes perfect sense that these are the people who would be last on earth if any thing happens

Yes, they do!! in world war, one after the French and the British had been gassed & millions and millions of young men and boys had just been slaughtered in this nasty war, by around 1917, and about three years into the Germans knew the Americans were coming, but it was gonna take them a while, and they believed that the British morale was wearing down. Nope!!! Just because the British were outnumbered at the time didn’t mean they lost their morale to fight on it all.. the French were a little messed up and a lot of it could’ve been due to their leader ship or just simple shell shock because they all suffered from it, and it was beyond shellshocked, but just horrifying fighting all the time. The French mutinied, & then they got their crap together again, and came back. By the time the Americans got over into Europe around late 1918 or early 1919, despite the fact that Americans have been going over to Europe since 1917, but the Americans just didn’t have a big built up force that President Wilson, and the department of war wanted to have at the time. If the USA would’ve had everything we needed in 1917 we would’ve just hopped on over and gone straight in but it didn’t work out like that way.
The Germans in 1917 hearing that the Americans were coming and were honestly dreading millions of Americans coming in with their tanks. I guess tanks weren’t too popular in World War I, but America was getting ready to send them over in the multi thousands. Well, millions of Americans and thousands of their artillery in tanks, came on over in a much larger number around the beginning of 1919 and that darn war was over in about 4 to 6 months… I don’t know all the specifics, but I was watching a world war, one video the other night and just watching it made me sick. It was an imperial war and how the European empires and their monarchies nobles and aristocratic were fueling the flames of war, and yet it was the poor and working-class man who had to go fight the monarchical wars.. sick!! no it wasn’t really any different during the Vietnam war with America should’ve never been in the beginning to begin with and JFK didn’t really wanna have anything to do wit it, as President Kennedy was an anti-colonialist & believed like I do now that it was ridiculous for these empires to have countries halfway around the world, and they couldn’t manage them. Hi Chi Men went to Versailles in order to try and get the allies to allow them to control their borders and Indo China but it wasn’t allowed. Sadly, 10 years later, a large group of the French military just got slaughtered over there and it’s because the people they are one of their own independence and the United States should’ve just left it where it was.. but once Johnson became president after Kennedy’s assassination, rather than the USA, having a small presence with some navy ships over in South Vietnam-Indochina, President Johnson sent in the whole Darned military industrial complex, and it was just ridiculous. Johnson was all up in that and mostly used to promote the military industrial complex. they could say they were fighting communism. All they wanted blah blah blah, but a lot of it was really more about the people who had big-time investments in the military industrial complex, and got super rich off of war and people dying in wars.. I still think that’s what Iraq was all about because otherwise it was based on a big fat lie from President George Bush, and Tony Blair!! Even though the Republicans were pretty stuffy I was a registered Republican, when I was younger, even though I wasn’t old enough to vote, because I was a Navy brat, and I believed government needed to regulate industries, etc. etc. but they didn’t need them over regulate in micromanage like the Democrats did and the Democrats were more pseudo socialist at the time and big government taxing and spending. Plus I grew up in the south, and the Democrats were what I grew up learning in school for the proslavery pro segregationist, and I was completely against that. Kennedy wanted. The civil rights act passed for the good reasons and genuine reasons, but Johnson wanted the civil rights act on the expansion of welfare act pass for trickery reasons because he wanted the Democrats to own the black boot for 200 years and he used the N-word in the video I saw. It makes me sick every time I think about that video and it bothers me even now because the Democrats still believe that the black Americans are just beholden to them. If a black person desires to switch parties, then they get called all kinds of barbaric names and they don’t care because the Democrats are just a bunch of boys and for years they’ve always call people names whether it’s the N-word or they call people, Coons etc. etc… because the party hasn’t changed. They are the bully party & The only difference is that when slavery existed, and even after the Civil War, the Democrats or four more state, power and less federal government power but when the Democrats gained more power of the federal level, they turned around and they were the exact opposite, and they wanted all the power.!!! They wanted all federal power, and they want All states power to the max.
The only reason they did so well in the midterm in 2022 is because Joe Biden, and all of these socialist in Marxist, scared people to death by lying to them, and telling them that the Republicans were going to do away with their Social Security Medicare, and welfare , which was absolutely nonsense . Republicans are absolutely no welfare for immigrants because they’re not citizens and the sanctuary cities and states just seem to think American taxpayer should pay for everything but they’re just really buying votes at the expense of American citizens.

@Megan Baker I'll preface this comment by saying I stopped watching at 3:44 to make this comment.
Making videos about how events could play out for a possible WWIII is a pointless endeavor. The people who make them hold one of three positions, they are the either anti-West, pro-West, or "neutral." The last group are only fooling themselves into thinking they can make a video like this from a neutral point of view. Neutrality or "all things being equal" is an impossible stance for humans, and by default the machines we make (computers) to take.
People need to go back and watch the 1980s movie called War Games. As corny as that movie is by today's standards the final conclusion of the movie was and is absolutely correct. The computer in that movie came to a conclusion, after running all of the possible scenarios WWIII, that NOBODY will win WWIII. That conclusion still holds true in 2022.

My father was a light bird stationed at NORAD in the 70s. As a child listening to him and his friends (even then), their ability to track anything flying worldwide was amazing. There were times when they went into "Lockdown", and didn't hear from him or see him for a day or two. He would come home and at times lock himself in his office with a bottle of Johnny Walker. Always wanted to ask him "How close were we to dying?". Never asked, and he never had to say. And that was 30+ years ago.
Years later, he opened up that the times he was most concerned was when they were tracking objects that could not be explained that just "appeared" flying faster than anything manmade. He (they) would be on the phone with the Russians asking "That's not ours, yours?" "No".
As he said, "Bluebook, hell. They have an entire library of shit they can't explain".

Something to know too…. The US ICBM missile silos use floppy disks (the “save icon” for the younger folk) as their “passkeys” because 1 they can’t be hacked (there’s no internet connection to manually insert a disc into the launch sequence) and 2 you need to manually insert the disks (so the enemy needs to literally insert the disks to either cancel the launch or start it) which means infiltrate a nuclear silo, find the officers with the disks, neutralize and insert the disks (next to impossible in Colorado, North Dakota and Montana) so the land based ICBMs are fairly fool proof and the US uses special aircraft’s that work as “doomsday” aerial command centers so even if the white house is knocked out (along with the designated survivor) can order a nuclear strike/response ( one was seen recently off the coast of California with a different call sign/civilian designation) so the land based ICBMs even if “vulnerable” can still be operational in the few minutes that an enemy nuke is on the way…..

I don't agree with what you are stating, if the missile silos are knocked out, the analog doomsday aerial command can order the missiles be launched remotely. Probably by satellite communication, I don't think the internet would even be working in the event of a doomsday event. Just curious, no disrespect intended.

Thank you so much for all you do. As a 12 year U.S Army Veteran, I have been blessed to train with the Royal Marines during my tenure. Great guys. I was surprised the video did not mention strikes against the Pacific Fleet and Camp Pendleton. Being a resident of San Diego, I am pretty sure I would be one of the first to see the balloon go up. Best of luck in your boxing endeavors. I will be sharing your channel. I got your back, brother.

8:01 to take out a MInuteman LF, an enemy would essentially have to score a *_direct hit_* on it. anything less would be ineffective at removing launch capability. with the physical and EMP shielding in place, they're virtually impervious until they see sky. and it is even MORE difficult to knock out an LCF.

I am a former US Army soldier and now I actually build nuclear submarines for the US Navy and you're right... Those subs are seriously no joke. Their capabilities are unmatched. The work I do is also interesting because we also help build submarine parts for the UK. Just last month we sent off a missile cylinder for a UK sub. The money they cost to build is also no joke but the Navy actually pays for it and has plenty of money, without costing the taxpayers more.

The ability to recall bombers without dropping their ordinance is the biggest value; at least twice in recent times, we've mistakenly detected what we thought was a launch. Having the ability to recall is the reason we're all still here.
