I couldn’t believe just how much Stephanie’s style, sound and playing had improved in such a short time, after watching the two different videos of her playing A.C. Jobim’s Felicidade, arrangement by Roland Dyens. Thanks for this podcast.
I'm sorry but she is so completely beautiful. I'm not diminishing her talent but good goddess! The fact that's she is a once in a generation talent is beyond comprehension. A unicorn with two horns!!
At first glance I thought she was a "punk rocker"... but what a shock - so far from the truth! Stephanie is a very pretty & talented guitar virtuoso! She is "imaginative & explorative" she brings fresh ideas to music both old & new. Love that she is not a (boring) purist but obviously willing to take risks with the old classics & getting the approval of many professionals & music lovers. Just love the parts of her performances punctuated with the energetic staccato style (dynamic!) & guitar percussion that gives me a glimpse of her personality...& I like what I see & hear! You have a fan in me! What she has accomplished in her short years is miraculous, something many have strived for years & as yet to achieve! By the way Stephanie, keep the fingers warm & don't over practice..."tendonitis of the wrist"! Don't I know it!
Thank you for this inspiring interview. It iwa wonderful to discover that such an incredibly talented musician and performer is also a real nice human being!
I just happened on this website as I was listening to some classical music on UA-cam, and I was so excited to see a side of this beautiful, very talented, usually very serious guitarist, Stephanie Jones. She is more beautiful in person with a beautiful smile in your interview. If it's possible, I will enjoy her artistry even more than I have until now. Thanks. I will keep visiting. And thank you Stephanie. Maybe someday I will get to see you in U.S.
Thank you for the interview with Stephanie Jones. It was good learning more about her as well as the music she has shared over the years. I've been a fan of hers for just over a year, as well as Karman Stendler. I'm looking forward to your interview with Jacob Schmidt as well. See you on the podcast as I have subscribed to CGC and CGCMembers.
What an interesting story Stephanie has and such an amazing player. Thanks, Simon, these interviews are so great and at a time of need. I'm grateful to be a part of hip world of classical guitar!
Well the reason I looked at a number of her videos is that she reminded me of a famous front woman of an Irish rock band. But wow can she play that guitar!!!
Ms Jones, forgive the unexpected comment . . . I always comment on your wonderful musicianship. However, this time . . . I have never seen a real human being with such large (beautiful) eyes! Perhaps it's the makeup and too much fasting, but wow!
Stephanie is indeed a fantastic guitarist! Can't speak to the comment about her eyes -- I've never met her in person! Direct light on a person will bring out more and different in colors in someone's eyes, however. Have a great day. -Dave
Nice she has an interview and is given the opportunity to talk intelligently about her work and preparation - but it does little to explain why - in her quest to be able to fulfill herself through the music before she i-she found a home in guitar playing classical style - after going through a lot of playing other instruments - like jazz on a sax! - . No questions as to why she didn't think she could add anything to the sax playing repertoire.
I've seen her videos before, but never would have guessed this was her. She's very talented and has diverse skills which, as she said, make her a better player overall. Thanks for focusing on guitar and not talking about what's going on in the world. I don't believe in any of it and don't want to hear anymore of that.
She's the bees' knees. I met her on tour and she signed my guitar. How cool is that!
Stephanie should be getting Millions of views, 🌎 class ❤
Stephanie is simply delightful!

Thanks for this podcast.
I agree! She has become an unbelievable classical guitarist. I'm going to see her in Austin this October
I'm sorry but she is so completely beautiful. I'm not diminishing her talent but good goddess! The fact that's she is a once in a generation talent is beyond comprehension. A unicorn with two horns!!
C’mon dude. Looks are but a superficial component of overall beauty. She’s like the best classical guitarist in 40 years. That is her beauty.

Stephanie augers well for the future of classical guitar, music and humankind in general.
i love stephanie dramatic performance.
Nice chemistry between the both of you.
Wonderful interview, Stephanie and Tommy Emmanuel are both inspirational people that put a guitar back in my hands a few years ago.

Thank you so much for this opportunity to discover such wonderful musicianship and charm.

That's very enlightening. Hope to see you one day in concert in US, Southern California!

Met her at CGR Cumbrae Scotland 2019. Wonderful player and human being...
She is my second best young female classical guitarist after Nicola Hall, UK guitarist.

She does have really cool hair.
She shaved her head😯

You guys need to move those lights. It makes her eyes look crazy.

Very good guitarist and very rare eyes (Some kind of lens?)

@@ClassicalGuitarCorner I must admit that I am captivated by her as an exceptional guitarist and as a woman.
Sound got cut off after the film clip
please stay safe, we must beat this virus so we can keep playing!
That sounded like "seedy work" and then she said "work for my CD" - ah, that's better
Steph's eyes?
José Tomás in the *north* of Spain?? No, he taught all the life in Alicante, Valencian Community (Costa Blanca).

What's with Steph's eyes?....the guys eyes are normal.....Steph's have circles around the Irises......surely you folks can see that.
It has to be the upside down eyes when she smiles for real. ( He is a nice man but

I agree!
When Stephanie plays modern junk music where a lot of the notes sound like serious mistakes, I think what a waste of all that talent!
