I've stayed at Thalatta Resort in Dauin, nicest infinity pool I've ever seen. Also in the next town over (Zamborangita?), a retired sailor was planning to build a hotel with a boat theme. This was five years ago, I don't know the current situation.
That first place was the dumaguete springs resort before went there and it was lousy then hope it is better now.(dumaguete springs apartments dgte same people, which was also lousy and rip off)
Atmosphere is way way overpriced. You could stay at Thalatta resort for 3 days for the same price. Thalatta is also much prettier and value for money dinning

Unfortunately in general Philippine accommodation tends to be more expensive.
