I miss when TV shows had 24 episodes, 40-50min each, and had a new season every year. Now I wait 2-3years for a new season that has 10 episodes.
I think the answer is somewhere in the middle. Cuz during those days actors literally were tied down to one projects sometimes for a decade while not being able to do any other projects.
I think networks don’t want to pay the actors and crew for a show that goes that long now. They’re so cheap, they will squeeze every penny they can
I agree with waiting 2-3 years for a television season is ridiculous but I like the 6-12 episode seasons. 24 episodes is too much and you end up getting about the same amount of story because of all of the time-wasting filler that has to be added to meet a 24 episode demand.

Edit: it’s not a matter of “just don’t watch it” or here’s a college version of euphoria. It’s about not allowing the sexualisation of minors. If these scenes where acted out in corn they would be considered cp. broadcasting them on HBO only normalizes cp…doesn’t change what the director is trying to convey.
I agree there’s a lot of heavy stuff but a lot of the big plots revolve around the illegality with minors with Nate going to the police about the assault with Maddie as a minor, Cals bs with the Jules and recording and how that’s shaping the storyline
But like this stuff happens no matter if you’re college age? If you wanna sugar coat it don’t watch it?

@houstonbby, I feel like a lot of those plots can be swapped a bit to keep that heaviness. The Maddy storyline wouldn't even have to change that much. The Jules storyline could have been swapped for the Dean or professor. Nate could still be his son making him a Nepo baby on campus. Alot of that could have easily been changed to fit into a college setting.

They wanna do a time skip unfortunately which means they can write out friends who "drifted away" or recast people since they're older but it feels so sloppy like they're just never going to give a good ending to Fez because he's either going to be killed off in show or his story abandoned since he was arrested at the end of the last episode. And a time skip feels like we'd miss so much like the weeks following the play that was put on... Idk I feel like with half the cats gone and with everyone being so much older and more popular now it should just be cancelled

Honestly, Angus's passing really was a turning point. I would not be able to go back on that set, which is already rumoured to be quite toxic, without his light if I was a cast mate. R.I.P Angus, you are missed 🕊️🤍
From an audience standpoint it just feels like nothing the show does can make up for not being able to give that arc a proper end. Most people don't want 100% bitter endings for characters they like. Even in a gritty show, the audience at least wants to be able to see the character get back up and find some semblance of peace in the aftermath, and that just isn't possible here. Which is an interesting and realistic concept, but not exactly one everyone is going to be happy with especially considering the reason why that isn't possible. His absence is going to be felt immensely.
I'm worry for fans , they will not enjoy after the finish production. Zendaya isn't really honesty with the fans and working with her enemy director. She is only thinking 💰💰💰. It doesn't look good for fans. Just cancel!!!
Which character did he play on euphpria? Its been so long since I saw the 2nd season.. I don't even remember seeing him. If he played one of the side characters, I'm sure the story can move without that character

(18 year old girl) but he a 23 year old man can watch euphoria and think about how sexy teenagers are. The reason he dated me was because I was as close as he could legally get to dating a child. These shows aren’t for girls. I wouldn’t watch this crap .

they need to cancel it, I feel like 2nd season was already pretty bad, the best thing they can do is not to contnue it, I have been fentanyl addict ( sober for 8 years now) and I have had problems like Rue had in season 2...I hate that she just got clean like that, it takes ALOT of time to go trough a detox, it doesnt get better within few days, I was like in a torture chamber for 1,5 months and the fact that she owed all that money was just forgotten....no in the real world it doesnt work like that , if you owe soo much money then its not just going to be forgotten, there are very serious concequences to these things, I also hate how they sexualize these KIDS , cause they are meant to be kids, I just feel like they are giving young people an idea that all that stuff is actually not that bad...and you get away from it easily which is not true at all

the biggest issue euphoria faces is that its sam levinsons 'baby' and he wont let anyone touch it anymore. season 1 was good cause the actors got to work with sam on character storylines, season 2 declined cause sam put his head up his ass and decided he can write everything with no help at all.
sam levison was never as good as he was ever made out to be, that's why euphoria is his only actually successful show/movie.
6:00 The fact we got the idol which was cut to only 4 episodes due to the backlash instead of season 3 of euphoria is beyond. Sam definitely thought the idol would be bigger than euphoria since Lily and Weekend would be on the idol. Wow. Cancel euphoria now, make a movie to wrap up the storylines or just publish a book to tell it.

It’s so clear that the second season wasn’t ready to be produced, the writing was messy- ALL of the character’s motivations are messed up and backwards. ALL of the characters are hate-able and annoying. There’s NO reason to watch anymore. The good characters are gone, the characters they have suck, and the writing by Sam is hot garbage.

Funny enough, it WAS ready, There is an entire script for season two that was written immediately after season one wrapped that we will never see. Sam Levinson was the one who was NOT ready to continue the story he had created. From the original draft to what we got in season two, almost everything was rewritten to fit the overwhelming popularity of the show, and Levinson's own biases. He realized he had more things to say about the audience of the show that didn't fit the original narrative, so he threw the original narrative out of the window and rushed into a new one. That is why there is all this gossip about unplannedness behind the scenes. Everything was new and betrayed the characters original narratives. All because of Sam Levinsons ego and his obsession with defying the stakes of the first season.
After angus passed away, the show was done. I can’t imagine it coming back without him. Also, everyone looks so much older now.

I mean s1 to s2 took about a year, s3 took about a year and a half, and s4 took about basically almost 3 years. But then again, the strikes, covid and the higher production, time and quality compared to the last seasons could have a reason for it. So true. Not even Game of Thrones (also HBO) made us wait this long, and they had so much CGI/editing to do in the final season. Euphoria shouldn’t be taking this long
On top of that those two guys from the cast were giving the show bad publicity. People were annoyed that they had to wait that long for another season but on top of that those two guys were acting insane online. It just made the whole show unlikable.
The Creator, Sam Levinson, made it so much worse because some of the cast members said it was toxic and demanding, and few cast members are not returning after season 2.

This is a terrible show. No good music, no good fashion, no good plot and absolutely depressing. I was assigned to write an article about it right after the first season ended. I had to binge watch it entire night. When I finished I was sooooo stressed. The aura was beyond dark. First time in my life I felt close to depression.
Yeah, Zendaya was great. Yeah, Fezco was likable due to his caring nature and Angus himself. The rest? Trash! Toxicity! Please, people, set higher standards when it comes to music and cinematography.

Sam Levinson being a "bad dude" for not liking a person isn't the worst thing ever. Yes, the whole thing is creepy but we all watched the show so being "above" Sam Levinson is grossly hypocritical to me.
Again, Angus Cloud was *the best* part especially when Rue went too far with the "becoming a dealer" angle. Cassie was so hyper dramatic but I couldn't do another season of that many aggressive tears.

I don't think Rue should stay sober. Thats not really how addiction works. I'm on maintenance and I'm still haunted by the dreams at night of IV heroin. It consumes you forever, whenever you get sober, there's only like a 5-15% chance you won't have a relapse, meaning majority of addicts relapse at some point... and she's nowhere near through the cycle. Hasn't reached rock bottom. Rue's drug scenes were some of the best in the show.

honestly it should just be cancelled. I've been rewatching gossip girls and Gilmore Girls recently and it's made me wonder what happended. Both shows had the 20 episode structure both shows were 40 minutes long but most importantly they both took 1 year a season. now I'm not saying these 2 are the golden standard of television they've had their ups and downs but with shows coming out now we get 10 episodes less and triple the wait time

i really feel like, we can still get Euphoria season 3, with a new writer - and new upcoming creators who could replicate or even push what sam started. i’d come back around for that
sorry but this whole show is so over rated since the beginning. there is nothing revolutionary about wearing minimal makeup with glitter. the only good thing about this show was some of the artistic compositions in scenes. the storylines are so unrealistic. the scene with jules and cal still makes me shudder, it was so gross and unnecessary, much like the rest of the sex scenes. the character assassinations were horrible too.
There was a 3 year break between season 1 and 2. We will have a 4 year break for season 3. I’m willing to wait. I love Euphoria and I’m glad they will be in college. Season 2 left off with so much going on, and so much story that I want to know about. I’m fully invested in these characters. Hopefully, the story will be worth it. I’m actually watching season 1 right now. I’m still invested.

i lowkey think the hype died bc of the directors other show
i don’t think it’s ever coming back, BUT IF it did, it would probably be with a whole new cast & Sam’s lackluster direction…. it’ll never be the same, unfortunately.
Bruh Euphoria happened to have top tier cast, Sam just happened to be lucky if you base his skills on the idol
It's been 3 years. At this point, who even wants another season? The quality dropped so much already and with two characters leaving they should just cancel it.
People who say they feel uncomfortable for the sex scenes but continue to want to watch more are SO weird.

At this point, scrapping it is probably the best idea. If they intend to bring it back, they could do a time jump storyline where the main characters are in college and maybe come back together for Fezco's funeral and Ashtray getting out of prison or juvie
The show is done, it's never coming back. Normally I'm very much of the mind that there are two sides to every story but if you are fighting like this with Zendaya, the problem is you.

The stars have moved on to better, bigger things. It’s like the reboots they’ve done of iconic shows (iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place) that ended up tanking so hard. They’re almost laughable.

Sam Levinson is not as much of a genius as he'd like to think he is and seems to lack organization and a willingness to get help from more experienced writers.
I mean instead of a whole season they could just tie it up with like an 1:15 minute movie.
If it actually comes out the views are gonna flop so bad and no one will be happy.
I feel that the actors outgrew the show and after the passing of Angus it should be canceled
I remember binging seasons 1 & 2 when I was stuck inside with Covid, & that was in 2022. And I think by then, it had been out for a little while, I'm not sure.
Guys if you want the show to get canceled then don’t watch it if and when s3 comes out. Don’t even hate watch it don’t watch it it period. That’s how companies respond. They respond to their customers.
Yea, they should just scrap it at this point. Most of the leading cast are super famous now and have so many projects booked up, so you know their pay grade will need to match the demand 😂
It should be canceled because it is creepy, why do people want to watch 'high school students' have sex and do drugs? Also it is basically grooming high schoolers who see it, it tells them "this is how high schoolers are supposed to act" and them being at their impressionable age, they will probably emulate what they see. I don't understand how we can condemn influencers who are groomers but when an entire show is made to essentially do the same thing everybody is okay with it. It's disgusting and ridiculous.
Devil’s advocate- my high school was LIKE this. This is real to some people. Down to the clothes. There was no dress code at my school. I have friends who went down a similar path to rue. It is relatable.

^ this is why it isn’t cancelled because people will bend over backwards to find reasons as to why the characters should be high schoolers and completely ignore how Sam hyper-sexualizes women (again characters that are supposed to be high schoolers). And yet whenever someone mentions how odd the plot of the show is, all the euphoria fans come out of the woodworks and attack you.
I feel like we do NOT need a third season of Euphoria. The actors can no longer believably play teenagers, and there's been so much conflict behind the scenes, especially involving Sam Levinson, not to mention the death of Angus... It just doesn't make any sense to continue with the show. Season 2 wasn't even that good, and S3 will likely be worse.
