Biggest bowl I have seen turned! Great grain, too. I surely would appreciate Brad's products: The abrasive paste, the tung was and tung honey. Brad's workbench is marvelous!
Brad’s Workbench. The double feather and size of the blank make this absolutely stunning. I love cutting and turning blanks for the feather. Also, good choice of where you trimmed the edge of the blank to make the final natural edge. Thank you Hayden for sharing such a beautiful elm blank.
That is an impressive piece! Liked how you turned the bark off - showed some real patience and talent. Using Brad's Workbench Tung Honey was an excellent choice for the finish.
I've never turned Elm, but apparently I need to find some! Gorgeous. Great use of the Tung Honey finish from Brad's Workbench too. Thanks to Haden for making it possible.
Thank you for explaining the use of sanding sealer before adding AC glue to fill cracks. Also helpful was your explanation of the use of denatured alcohol. By the way. The bowl is amazing.
Beautiful bowl, Daniel. Not only are the crotch grain and feathering great, but the figure around that inclusion adds so much too. Thanks to Brad's Workbench for sponsoring the drawing. Bill
Oh my… I forgot my comment earlier. Very nice piece. Really like the grain pattern where all three branches intertwine. Also a big plus with the live edge. Oh and the Monster Size! Brad’s Workbench 😊
Brad’s Workbench! It’s amazing what a hunk of wood that would be split for firewood produces! Great job bringing out the beauty in this piece. I just received an order from Brad’s and am anxious to try it.
Brad’s Workbench. With winter coming it would be great to get some wood honey to finish pieces inside the house rather than a freezing garage. Beautiful platter.
Brad's Workbench This piece has some serious character! Love the feathering in the grain, the inclusions and the bug trails! Gorgeous piece! Thank you for always sharing these great videos my friend!!
Thank you for watching, and good luck! I have a video on details of the lathe, and did a follow-up on a video of a pen recently that I talk about my dislikes.
Brad’s Workbench. Brad’s products look good. I loved the video because I was considering the Rikon 3040 and it was great to see you use the movable bed to turn an oversized piece. Chas
Thanks! This was my biggest, too. I have a larger piece of Pecan in the works now (started off at 27" diameter). Got it rough turned and now in the kiln.
Nice work. I couldn’t find it anywhere but what brand/model of face shield/respirator are you running? I have something that works but it’s heavy and clunky and I’m looking for something better. Thanks!
I can understand that! I have it in the description of some of my videos, but forgot to add it to this one. Here's the info! Powered Respirator I use: pekesafety.com/collections/respirators-and-dust-masks/products/cleanair-pro-hepa-papr-system?variant=39701921267790 I appreciate your feedback!

Brad's Workbench, Love this piece it came out so well. I am really liking this Rikon lathe as well looks like it is pretty versatile in the pieces you can turn on it. Whats the name of the engraver you use?

Brad’s Workbench. With winter coming it would be great to get some wood honey to finish pieces inside the house rather than a freezing garage. Beautiful platter.
Thank you very much! Finishing in the cold is quite unpleasant, so I agree with you! Good luck!
Very beautiful. Really nice lathe. That moveable bed is really cool … Brad’s Workbench
Thank you, Mike! Definitely like the smaller footprint this lathe has while not sacrificing turnable length!
Good luck!

Brad’s workbench. Just curious - have you tried just using glue in the cracks and then a quick sanding - it will makes saw dust to cover the crack automatically and not need to use all of the CA. I prefer doing that over the ca.
Good luck!
I have not done that before, but will certainly give it try down the road! Thanks for the feedback!
Very nice! What is the make and model of your handheld laser etcher? Thank you!
Thank you, Fred! My laser engraver is the LaserPecker 2, and I love it!
