SPOT was short for 'Special Production Orange Tenere' Orange Tenere being the name of the paint shade. The UK market also had a special edition named 2CV6 Bamboo, which was painted in Vert Bambou with chrome headlamps, based on a 2CV6 Special.
Nice video. Couple of glaring errors though (sorry!):- SPOTs were 435cc on the continent, not 425, as that engine hadn't been produced since the 2cv4 (435) and 2cv6 were introduced in 1970. Also, the Charleston was based on the 2cv6 Club, with the larger speedo surround, plastic door capping, ashtray etc... Oh, and the Sahara had two fuel tanks - one for each engine - located under the front seats and with a filler in each front door. I'm surprised you didn't mention the France 3/Transat/Beachcomber of 83/84, which is probably my favourite of the special editions.
Thanks Mike I really like Morris minors especially low lights and travelers. We've had an A30 and a few minis in the family but no minors not yet anyway haha
Good to see Jason has got his video! I think I’d love a Sahara just to see how good they are off road although the 4x4 can now be achieved with a rear differential so you don’t need 2 engines.
@@OliverPickard You are a young fella with lots to learn i'm sure but.... so far so good in terms of your broadcast quality and quantity. Good luck with everything you do.
About the 2cv Basket and the 2cv Márcatelo, I have to say that it isn't the correct name. The Márcatelo name was really 2cv'82, because it was a promotion during the days of the 1982 FIFA World Cup, that took place on Spain. "Márcatelo" can be translated as "score it". "Márcate un gol" = "Score a goal". They made 300 of them, but what is sad is that they couldn't sell those 300 cars, so many of them were stripped of the stickers, painted all white and sold at whites. How can you tell that you have an all white 2cv'82? Because you would have TWO color codes on the firewall. This is how some cars were restored to his former colours.
Hi There was The first special edition from 1977/78 in yellow A 435, with 4 windows Because The factory had founded some carrosserie from the 1970 and they would get rid them

Yeah the 425/435 thing was a slip of the tung and some Sahara's only have one filler but it's on the driver's side 😉
Very interesting video Oliver. I'm not a 2CV owner, I'm a Morris Minor man, but always find your films fascinating. Thank you.

Another great video. Like em all so far, even if they do contain the occasional gaff! Life is like that too.😎
I'd like to think I've gotten better over time

One version I love is the german Sausss-Ente a.k.a. the flying duck ;) look it up!
I know all about it but I could only choose 10 maybe next time
Hi
There was The first special edition from 1977/78 in yellow
A 435, with 4 windows
Because The factory had founded some carrosserie from the 1970 and they would get rid them
Love your films
Great information again, I only have a common Dolly But it’s special to me 👍
Like everybody else’s car
You also have that gorgeous 7
I would love a Safari here in the Idaho desert. I always like to think of them as F/RWD due to the bonkers twin engine setup.
TOP are you from colne?
No I'm not I remember passing through it as a child though
Captions desperately need editing. Some of the mistakes are pretty funny!
As in subtitles or my on screen corrections?
