I love your breakdowns of Jalen. I can tell that you're not leaning one way or other...if he makes a good play, you state it, and if he doesn't you state why. Can't ask for better analysis than that for your QB.

  • @JMH94

Good thing to note on that second to last snippet of Saquon's first long TD is the fact that Jalen flipped the play when he recognized the defensive front of the Rams. He motions Saquon from his right to his left, checks into the run and the rest is as you see.
Jalen has made big strides this year calling protections

@@Mojojojo335as someone who played QB and has been in countless hours of film sessions, it’s a common misconception that it’s a basic concept to auto flip plays for a numbers advantage. I’m not saying you are fully wrong because sometimes it is that simple, but It’s just not that cut and dry all the time. Flipping to a numbers isn’t always that simple. It’s times you don’t want the numbers advantage for blocking scheme purposes, it’s also times where film study comes into play and your looking for something to figure out if it’s showing 1 way to turn into something else. It’s also times where it is that simple. But that’s why you see plenty of times that ppl don’t flip to advantage and what makes the great ones special are the ones that can always get it right. I think Jalen is good at it, but def not elite by any means. I also think Jalen is actually good at reading the field pass wise, but he needs to read it quicker. Just my opinion.

If you did a comprehensive, holistic analysis of Jalen's play this year, it would be the most watched video in Philadelphia. It's nonstop "he's incredible" "he's trash," and people are HEATED Philly-style about it. It would be clipped and shared SO MANY times across all platforms. Just saying.

I think a lot of the hesitation we’re seeing from Hurts this year is probably intentional. Hurts has really improved in the turnover department this year. His INT% is down from 2.8% to 1.4%, his completion percentage is up to damn near 69%, his passer rating is the highest he’s ever had in his career… and he had a 75% completion percentage in THAT weather. Clearly the focus in a game like that is gonna be protecting the football. The Rams didn’t, and you saw what happened to them. They gave the Eagles extra positions, took points off the board for themselves and gave the Eagles a few in the process. Turnovers can be big momentum swings. I imagine that was a focus all week for the offense. They knew the defense was up to the task. They just needed to protect the football and not take any unnecessary risks that could give the Rams a chance to swing the momentum back their way. One INT could have changed the outcome of that game.

@ prevent? They didn’t go into a prevent coverage or defence up 10 lol. The Rams went with a faster tempo and as a coach you can’t get certain personnel in or get aligned to certain coverages and fronts.
But, yes Stafford is a baller. However, there is a big difference when Puka makes that great catch along the sideline and when AJ drops a ball at the 1 which would have set up a two TD lead going to the half for Philly.

There are alot of passing plays they call at certain moments in the game that don't make a lot of sense. Maybe its Jalen not seeing it or being off rhythm or just not comfortable making those types of throws. BUT I would say he didn't have these issues with Shane Steichen's Offense. Old QB here. So with the Devonta Smith Post throw. Why are the Eagles Sending AJ Brown on a Dig route making the other side corner back being able to make a play on Devonta? I just dont understand the scheme. Wouldn’t you run like a 7 yard comeback, just enough to keep the corner with AJ but not allowing the corner to get all the way to the middle of the field. Just not understanding some of these WR route combinations. Just looks very basic and seems like they make it harder on themselves. This team’s best friend should be the play action pass but yet we might see 1 Or 2 of them a game from Kellen Moore. This team should be way more explosive, idk if they are waiting for the Super Bowl 😂 but just seems like they need more play action and zone beaters. Obviously man to man its crossing routes, but Kellen has to set Jalen up in a better position. He’s making it tough on him.

Which is why we needed to fire Nick last year. We need a HC play caller so Jalen can build with him. You need that consistency. Just look at KC. Even if Andy Reid isn't calling the plays it's still his offensive system. When a coordinator leaves, and he just goes back to play calling. All of the coordinators run Andy's system.
We're going to have success one year and then lose our coordinator again and again.
U'm not saying that Nick deserves to be fired. I'm just saying that best practices indicate that if you want to have long-term success, your quarterback having the same play caller is going to be incredibly helpful. It's not fair to Jalen to have a new offensive play caller every f****** year.

My frustration with Jalen Hurts is that he doesn’t get rid of the ball quickly. Why is he going for the option of losing the yard when he has an option of throwing the ball away? Can someone please explain? I have heard no one asking this question to him at the press conference.

Just seems overall like the pass game playcalling doesn’t match Jalen’s strengths. Especially in a weather game like this. A lot of these plays seem like the check down should be the second read. Especially with a defensive line like the Rams have and especially when you’re standing in your own end zone.

Why does no one get it! By design. Jalen is not throwing the ball unless it’s 99 % gettin caught or incomplete, the most important stat for winning is turnovers with our Dominant D, excellent run game and the deep go ball options with some play action in the mix and we have a gritty hard nosed football team that can score, take the ball away and grind clock, it is literally the secret to their win rate why change it because it doesn’t look pretty. The play on Devonta is a defenseless receiver because he launches himself into the head and neck area of the WR. Not at all a hard concept to grasp per the current rules. Could of easily made a play on the ball but chose to establish and launch himself into the players head/neck area.

I know this is a qb analysis channel. But it amazes me even in the highest level of football. To see the linebackers move their feet before knowing where the ball goes. Wasted steps.. I played ball in high school and I was taught to stay planted til you're 100 percent sure where the balls going. Eventually with great patience they would be able to read the ball a lot quicker if they just stood still and remember what their train to look for. Always the little things

@@BillionaireJig The point is he haven't had to do it this season, the only time he had to do it playing from behind was game vs Bucs the Eagles had to play from behind and Hurts couldn't throw them back into the game they got boat raced and then Siriani and Moore took the ball out his hands these are facts just look at his pass attempts every sense that Week 4 loss to Bucs they obviously don't trust him to win games. It's great as long as Eagles are leading Barkley and running game is a great formula but what happens if they get down 10-14 points like week 4 can he win a game with his arm from the pocket? Especially if he's not 💯 with that knee and can't use his legs to scramble or extend plays or effect the run game with Barkley by being a run threat and giving the numbers advantage to Eagles because he can pull it and run. For instance if he can't run BAM run he scored vs Rams or Tush push in short yardage. Y'all Eagles fans can't assume that because he did some s*** in 22' that he can win games with his arm this year cause we haven't seen it. Eagles traditionally starts slow because it takes time to get Barkley going some times they bottom of league in 1st quarter points and if that happens Sunday and Skins get up 10-14 points then it's a different game
