I am a Norwegian fan! I have sailed on the Epic, Breakaway, Encore, Prima, and all are beautiful and a lot of fun. I will sail on Pearl on June 2024 and I have sen videos of it. I love that it looks like a trip to the past of cruising and this doesn't bother me at all. She looks beautiful and I will enjoy those 9 nights.
I have been on the Breakaway 4 times Escape once Getaway once Prima once Pearl once and soon to be booked on it for 2025 as my Panama Canal cruise was cancelled by NCL and I loved the Pearl! Especially the Summer Palace MDR. Get a table by an aft window and see some awesome sights and enjoy excellent breakfast or any meal with so much more choices of places to dine! My cruise will be a 12 day ABC island cruise out of Miami which will be different for me.
I've sailed 3 times on this ship. All of these were full charter rock 'n' roll cruises, and the most recent was just last month. The performance venues included the main theater, the Spinnaker, Bar City, the atrium, and the pool deck where they drained and covered the main pool and set up a full outdoor concert stage complete with full sound and lights (that little gazebo became the control booth). Someone referred to our cruise as a 5-day Woodstock with beds, bathrooms, and food....
The muster on last month's cruise consisted of (a) pre-watching the video from home, and (b) reporting to the muster station, where our cards were scanned, and that was all. No sitting around in life jackets for an hour as on prior cruises. Easy-peasy.
And I have to say, on our 2019 rock 'n' roll cruise (which was on a different ship and different cruise line but the same charter company) the muster drill turned out to be one of THE most epic moments EVER, and we hadn't even left the port of Miami. Right in the middle of muster (where our station was outdoors right next to a lifeboat) Alan Parsons, who was one of the guest artists on board, won his very first Grammy (in absentia). His wife (who was standing right next to me) was live-streaming the ceremony on her phone, in blatant disobedience to the "no cell phone use during muster" signs. Our entire muster station cheered for Alan. Not exactly a moment that could be repeated... but as I said, it was epic.
Just wanted to let you know that they changed the muster situation. I got what you're saying by the way I've been on about 25 cruises and you do definitely feel the age of this one but there are some charming things about it for sure. The destinations are definitely what the cruise is about. Starting it now and we are going to the DR twice, Aruba, Curacao, Tortola, St Thomas, and stirrup kay for 11 days.
That’s great news they changed the muster situation. I’m back on NCL in May
When you say they changed the muster, why not say to what?
Is it now eMuster?
Thanks for saying which restaurants where included and what they had, great video
Thanks for the kind words
I'm going to be on the Pearl in November, on the transatlantic from Spain to Miami! I'll have to see if the Cedar Point book is still there! Love me some Cedar Point.
Excellent, let us know if it is still there
My first ever cruise was on the Pearl this past November Boston to Bermuda. We wanted to try a shorter cruise in case we didn't like cruising but had an amazing time. It was just the right size for first timers
Glad to hear this! We are going on the Pearl Boston to Bermuda 7/14-7/21
@Aileen Rein have a wonderful time!
7 days is a short cruise?
@@B-ch6uk it was a 4 night cruise
I’ll be on the Norwegian pearl for the first time in November. I literally plan on living in the pool lol
Best tour of this ship. We miss Molly as you guys make a great team. Great job
I missed her on this one as well
Thanks for the tour of the ship. It was excellent. We will be going on this ship later in the year for a heavy metal music festival. I can see this has a good set up with various places where live music can be played. Thanks for the video. I'm getting even more excited now.
Im going on the pearl this friday from Boston to my homeland Bermuda 🇧🇲 cant wait my hubby and i celebrating our 25th anniversary❤ great video
Did you like it ?
Glad you posted this. Definitely an older looking ship that I’m not interested in, until a refurb.
Bet you got an amazing deal! 👍🏻
I'd read that it just had a refurb.
2021, but most sources only mention the one before that in 2017.
the jewel class is my favorite class of ship ever. unfortunately, I have never been on the pearl but i have been on her sister ship heaps of times.
Great video to share with friends! We cruised the NCL Pearl 3 times and are going again this year... very soon! You produced a wonderful video of the Pearl that show others what we enjoyed about the cruises. Last cruise in late October 2022, (our best time cruising ever) we met so many nice fellow cruisers and we hid 75 ducks... I found 3 of other peoples ducks. It is fun hiding ducks and watching people find them. #CruisingDucks, #NCLCruisingDucks. Enjoy 🦆🦆🦆
Looking forward to the Summer of 99 cruise, on this ship!
Great video thanks. 2 orders of pot stickers lol delicious. Will be sailing June into July
Great video! Can't wait to be back on the Pearl in March for the chartered 311 Cruise.
That would be a good time, have a blast.
I’ll be on that cruise!! Not my first 311 Day, but it is my very first cruise! So stoked!!
@@IntheLoopPodcast Thanks for the great video. You give lots of helpful info and details. I can’t seem to find much info on a couple of things anywhere, maybe you can help. What are the pool/hot tub hours, are they 24/7? And what is muster? That’s a safety drill? When does that happen and how long does it take, and are you required to attend (like, what happens if you don’t)? Thanks!
@@LaineyTsangthe muster is a mandatory report to an area on the ship that shows you how you use the life vests if you need to know you just ask the staff now that the muster is an eMuster and when boarding you report to the place shown in your room key which might be the theater or a restaurant or another place where if there is ever a need to abandon ship you go to that area with your life vest put it in and the staff will guide you to a life boat for evacuation from the ship. After the eMuster you are required to view the video on your room TV and then your eMuster is done.
It is a Coast Guard law that no ship can get under way till have done the eMuster fully. To remember where your muster station is the station number is on your room key and on the back of your room door is guidance if how to get to it if you don't remember. If you do not do the Muster your name will be called over the PA system and your room key will be disabled.
Best tour of this ship I've seen! And this is my cruise of choice, and will be doing Boston/Bermuda for the third time April 2023. I live in Boston, so it only takes about thirty minutes to get to the ship........I just won't fly anymore. The Pearl is the perfect size for me, and it's not a "family ship", so it's nice and quiet and relaxing. 😁
Hey I'm going on Boston Bermuda April 28 to May 5... my first time going... learned I had cancer and got the tickets for me and my son the next day... any tips
@@adiesty82 I'm going that week too. Hope the weather is good.
Leaving from Boston on the Pearl in May 😊. Originally in April, but had to reschedule
@@adiesty82 I was supposed to leave on that date as well (April 28-May 5/Boston to Bermuda), but had to reschedule to the following week due to a conference. I recently finished treatment for melanoma and booked this trip in celebration. Hang in there! Wishing you all the best and successful treatment.
@morenabonita7265 thank you and I hope you have a wonderful time.. I'll post on here about entertainment since it's not listed
Beautiful ship... all the ships in this class from NCL are beautifully maintained. I have a personal favourite on the Jade, but I am sailing the Pearl on 11 night in Jan 2024 to ABC Islands. Just as excited. Amazing value on the more intimate ships also, and the pool sizes/pool deck size in general is amazing!
We are sailing on her January 2, 2024! Can't wait.
Us too! We should meet up LOL
My mom and dad are going on this cruse and omg I hope they have fun
Yes
Ham and sweet corn lol was that pineapple??? great video btw thanks for posting!
When recording the food you might consider adding more light. The images were very dark.
I just got off the Pearl and I am sitting at the airport in Boston. I am sad to say I was not able to find the book in ship's library.
Ahhh, that’s a bummer. Thanks for looking
Out of all the cruises you have done, do you have a recommended cruise line/ship that gives you the best bang for your buck? Love your videos as always. Have a great day!
I think MSC & Norwegian give the best value.
I have been on 32 cruises with NCL and sometimes I prefer the smaller ships like the Pearl. I am going on the Pearl this August when it goes to Maine and Nova Scotia. Can't wait!
Going on this in feb 24- only
Been on the carnival sunrise before so hoping this is a bit better. Hopefully
A bit more to do, will be looking into the bigger newer ships for later on in the year or 2025 like encore or royals oasis/symphony
Got a Jay and Silent Bob cruise on the Pearl im going on in February. Can't wait.
That should be a good time
Nice review. I miss molly
I missed her on this one as well.
Hi, thank you so much for your helpful review! Would you recommend this one to families with 2 year old toddlers for a 7-day cruise? Thank you!
This ship doesn’t have much for the little ones to do, so I think you’d have to be going to fun ports for them it to really make sense.
💪💪
Thank you so much for well reviewed video. I am the first time cruiser. I have a question. When you eat at the main dining room(summer place or indigo) will there be extra gratuity?? I know I have to pay $20/day for gratuity. I am curious how that works. Please share your experience.
There is no extra gratuity for the main dining room, that is covered in the daily gratuities each cruiser has to pay.
@@IntheLoopPodcast Thank you so much for your quick reply
thanks for this! i was wondering, how’s the toiletry situation? is it like airport security or is it less strict? i’m not sure if i can bring bigger bottles of these things
You can bring whatever size toiletry items you want.
Crazy you feel like it needs an update since it looks like you were on it right after they updated it haha
There was one in 2017 and another in 2021.
next june for us….
Not happy with ncl we can't make reservations at speciality restaurants the don't tell you they have a limited amount of spa packages. And I could go on with how disappointed I am and we haven't taken the cruise yet.
Going on this boat in august from boston to Bermuda first cruise ever and im going to ask my girlfriend of 4 years to marry me aswell as being there with her family this seems really cool im excited for the food and the views 😂😂
Did she say yes??
There is a poker table right
I believe so
Washy washy!
where is molly?
While I would love her to come on every trip, unfortunately with work it isn’t possible.
I love your critiques of these cruises but the only thing I don't like about your videos is that when you show off the food you get but never tell us how it was, good or bad. Was it worth it?
Noted, will try to add more thoughts on food quality in future videos
I hear you saying it needs refurbished. Wasn't it refurbished in 2017?
Yes it was.
While I’m not sure what they did in the refurbishment 6 years ago, the ship could definitely use some modernization.
There was also one in 2021 but many sites for some reason only mention 2017.
Is this ship good for teenagers?
Probably not the best for teenagers
@@IntheLoopPodcast thanks
Couldn't hear a word you said when you were at the Asian restaurant, I kept playing that part of your video over and over and over too much background noise didn't hear a word you said☹
That is because you were not eating. Once people start eating... it's quiet as a church mouse! 😆🤣😆🤣
So going on cruises is just sitting around eating and drinking all day. Sounds boring to me.
Pretty much
I am never in my cabin... there is so much going on the ship and then there are times when you are in port. Never a dull moment! There is a daily planner provided the night before and loaded with activities and things to do for the next day. This is our 6th cruise with NCL and we have 2 more booked. Loaded with fun and entertainment. And if you gamble, there is a nice casino. Oh, and there are so many dining options... can't go to all of them in a week! Best value for today's dollar!
😂 I agree...now I'm just not spending all that money and I can't get off and drive home.
@@feliciajones6742 lol
Nice guide, HORRIBLE tech!! The crashing of dishware, other passengers' shouting... I couldn't take another minute.
😂
