I just booked the Pearl for next year. I’ve never traveled on Norwegian, so I’m very curious on what to expect! I was on the Harmony of the Seas last month, and it was fantastic-but pretty overwhelming. This is a wonderful video, very well put together and informative. Thank you! Subscribed!❤
Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the channel! I am really keen on trying Royal Caribbean again, haven’t been since Allure of the Seas in 2011. I loved it then, but being 10+ years older now I do wonder if I’d also now find it overwhelming. Gearing up for my first Holland America cruise in a few months time, which will be my first more “classic” cruise experience. I really love Norwegian, it’s a nice combination of quality food and drinks while still having that fun, resort style atmosphere. I hope you have a great time on the Pearl!
@@daradventures I have never been on any other cruise line and after my next NCL cruise I'll be Sapphire latitudes level, so after achieving that unless another cruise line matches levels of loyalty I can't see myself in another cruise line. We'll see if NCL really appreciates loyalty though. Having 2 Platinum and above in the same room NCL seems to think the perks you attain with them should be diminished by stating that only 2 Specialty dinners per cabin and if 2 Specialty dinners is a perk of Platinum and above then that seems like breech of Latitudes perk contract. At 1 point per day it takes 11X7 points to get to the Platinum level with 75 points. They didn't mind your cruise money from those 11 cruises.
I was booked on a Panama Canal cruise on the Jade and NCL canceled it. This is the 2nd Panama Canal cruise on the Jade NCL has canceled on me, but at least they offered a 10% discount on a future cruise, so I booked the Panama Canal cruise on the Pearl, but it's just a half-way canal cruise into the Gaton lake and back into the Caribbean.
That’s what ours was as well - the ship turned around halfway in Gatun Lake. It’s still a really great way to see the canal though, I don’t think you need to go all the way across to get a good sense of the experience. Frustrating that they were canceling your cruises though, hopefully that won’t keep happening!
This is one of the nicest reviews I've found! Informative and has helped me decide that I'd like to go on the Pearl. How was the food in main dining and the buffett? 😊
Glad it was helpful! The food was very good in both the main dining and the buffet. No complaints, but I do think the buffet on the breakaway plus class had maybe a bit more variety. But overall the food was extremely tasty and I definitely gained a few pounds 😂 Roll Tide!
Is it? This is only my second Norwegian ship - didn’t know it was an old favorite! I love the colors on the hull. They were often touching up the paint in ports to keep it fresh and pretty!
Great tour. Better than others. U said there was a nightstand on both sides of the bed but I could only see one in the video. Is there outlets next to the bed? I ask cuz both us have a sleeping machine? Thanks
Yes, as mentioned above there are plenty of outlets near the beds for whatever you may need. Nightstands have decent storage space as well. And thanks for the compliment on the video!
@@daradventures thank u I kept telling my bf that y’all said there was some by the bed but the email we got from Norwegian says no outlets by the bed to bring extension cords.
@@crosscountrylife4253 if the cruise line is advising you to bring one, then probably best to do so. Might be the case that the outlet placement depends on which room you’re in, it is an older ship. My boyfriend uses a cpap machine and had no problem plugging it in next to the bed. But Always better to have something and not need it then be stuck out at sea needing something you don’t have!
@@daradventures when I was last on the Pearl my brother and I separated the bed and put the ONE end table between them. As I remember it the inside stateroom had only one outlet on my side and to charge his phone I ran a 10ft charging cable along the wall over to his bed so he could charge his phone. So an outlet extension would be necessary for two CPAP or whatever devices to be plugged in at the same time.
Just ended a Norwegian Pearl cruise to Canada.Sept 1st . 90 % OK but the loud games in public areas ruined the restaurant experience. Also disembarkation was an issue at some ports.
Yes, the games were a bit loud, agreed. I thought the music by the pool was too loud for relaxing. And yes, good point about the disembarkation as well - at the end of our cruise we did a local excursion in the home port since our flight was later that day, and the organization for that was poor - sounds like maybe it’s a training issue with the staff.
Not great from memory…. A few channels, but not a wide variety. I don’t think there were any free on demand movies. We didn’t turn on the tv much, there wasn’t much to choose from.
Smoking is allowed for active players in the Pearl’s casino. That said, I don’t remember it being too terrible - I can’t stand cigarette smoke, so I would have recalled if it was intolerable - but the level of smokiness probably just depends on the makeup of the passengers on that particular sailing. Some of the newer NCL ships have dedicated smoking rooms within the casino, but the Pearl is not one of them.
Only wish NCL would ship alcohol home for you if you purchased it in their store. If flying to the port i usually have bags just below the 50lb limit and can't put it in there.
That’s a good point. I wonder if any other lines offer that service. When I’m on cruises and want a bottle of something I always keep it small, due to the weight restrictions while flying. It would be nice if shipping was an option.
Make sure that you don't book on deck 9 on NCL Pearl. The toilet was not working in our room 9622 for 5.5 days. Customer service did not offer any help or compensation of any kind. I wrote a letter and we were offered 100.00 ship credit each. Pathetic customer service. There were issues on other toilets on deck 9 as well.
We had some less than stellar customer service as well, with a post cruise excursion - we were disappointed with how it was handled. Sorry your experience was bad, it’s upsetting to save for a nice vacation and then have something ruin it. Hopefully you’ll have better sailings in the future.
Thank you. Your video is great and very informative. I hope to cruise again, but it won't be with NCL. They need to be more concerned with their customers, and less concerned with the almighty dollar.
@@IreneGallant I hear you… I’m trying Holland America for the first time in a couple of months, excited for a new experience! Hope you find another line that works better for you 😊

You did an excellent job with this tour. Concise but covered everything. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment 😃
Went on the Pearl back in 2007 as a kid. Funny how some things have changed, but some are exactly how I remember them.
The Pearl was refurbed in 2022, so I hope the rooms got some nice upgrades.
Thanks for the informative review. I'm booked for an 11-day Eastern Caribbean on Nov. 17. Can't wait!
I love the longer cruises 😃. Have an amazing time!!
Really nice job on the ship tour!!

Both sides of the bed have nightstands and there are outlets, including a USB port. I just stayed in one of these on the Pearl about 6 weeks ago.
