... and had you shown us all 80, I would have sat here watching it, not realizing the time passing away. Thank you so much for this. Dougal is a darling...
From someone who is not really a Caravan and Motor home enthusiast I really enjoyed the content thank,s for sharing my neighbor from across the way as a Hymer and regularly goes off on trips away I shall tell him of this and I,m sure he would be keen to see
What a fantastic place to visit and not just for the caravans and motorhome! The cars were something else too! Absolutely loved the pink Randger, it was gorgeous! I bet Cameron was in total awe!! I liked the Car Cruiser the best but they were all wonderful! This video was one of your best if that's possible! This I think will be an epic series, you're back with a vengeance!! Loving all this from you, thank you it was wonderful!! Sending love and hugs! xxx 🥰🐕💕
Absolutely magical, Andrew, I would have been very happy to see every exhibit. We had a Thompson back in the 60's, I think it was a Glen. Happy travels. Tony
Isn't this amazing! Really great commentary on how current van designs aren't really advancing as much as they should be, to be more functional than just leisure, and the overview that current designs are just repeating what has already been thought of before and presented as 'innovative'. This is a really great video Andrew, really interesting and engaging, cheers and glad you are having a great time! 👍🇮🇪
Hi Andrew This was so Retro Heaven ! You chose well visiting this Museum absolutely loved this Video Thank you for sharing. Enjoy the rest of your travels, lots of love to You & Dougal 💖💖🐾🐾XX
OK - so I might’ve watched this one more than once…! Thank you so much - like some of the other commenters, I’d have been happy to see every exhibit at length. Oh, didn’t comment until now because I was making green tomato and cucumber chutney whilst I was watching the other day, and didn’t fancy getting the keyboard sticky!
Hallooo from Albuquerque NM. It's my dream to visit the Hymer museum in person one day. Thanks for the vitural tour. Looking 4ward to my own Hymer one day too. Allen
Thank you Andrew for another fantastic video, a great insight of past years great caravans and motorhomes. the colours of the interior and exterior of these vehicles were just amazing thank you again great video 👌
Awesome! You could go on sharing this all day as far as I'm concerned. I would love to see more of the 70s and 80s tourers and motorhomes. Thank you so much for showing!
Superb, truly amazing and brilliant to see how far things have come along, developed and progressed. Never heard of this place before but this is high on the list now.
That’s AMAZING! Adore those curved roofs, such wonderful shapes, brilliant innovation, what a place!!! The car park’s impressive too. PS Great registration plate on the borrowed one ;-)
That was awesome. Such a nostalgia trip. No words really, but being me I'll try ;-) So many innovation gems to admire here, some of which modern manufacturers would do well do re-invent! The old microlight caravans were particularly thought provoking, in terms of design ideas. I'd love to spend a whole day there, one day...
I'd like to be there since years, hoping to be able to make the tour by myself as soon as I can. At the moment just a big THANK YOU to Andrew to make me so happy seeing this video. 😍
Hello. I’m happy to see you every night after my journey. This an amazing museum visit. I hope visit it one day after Covid but for this moment you are my eyes and thanks a lot. I hope a very good night and kiss for me your treasure Dugo who never smiles and you naturally 💚 Sam 🇫🇷 Pyrénées
hi Andrew, caravan at 27:14 is actually Czechoslovakian model, with drop-down floor....in CS/CZ we call them submarines as the nickname, while original name follows its author's name Wenzel caravan
Well this is the wow factor. One jest want too run around over and over looking at everything. Thank you so much for sharing spectacular art off vehicle's. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
This probably makes me very sad but when you get home, it would be lovely to see another video about the museum - all the bits that hit the cutting room floor from this one . . . until then, I am just going to have to watch this one again 😉
Nice tour!! Fascinating to see the oldies!!..always wondered at what point did the have electric hook ups start.. cause I'm assuming their batteries didn't last very long?
@@andrewjditton thanks fit the info, was watching intently thinking " Is that a plug socket i see?" But as you say, the teardrops, pop ups they've been done before.. funny how it's all going full circle! Any how safe journeys and looking forward to the next.
Andrew you don’t know your viewers as well as you think as I am sure most of us would have sat very happily and looked at very exhibit. So I suppose you could always go back again and do a full review, or maybe that was the plan LOL “Hellooo” in all of those vans but you missed doing it in the Airstream.
the early ones show that it shouldn't cost 6k or 18k or a million to deck out a practical comfy interior...just look at that pop out real basin like used to be in homes!
... and had you shown us all 80, I would have sat here watching it, not realizing the time passing away. Thank you so much for this.
Dougal is a darling...
Please Andrew, Never stop to “haalllooo - sorry”! I love it 😂🖖
Drooling. Dribbling over keyboard! Worth going to Germany just to see this, I wish you could have shown all 80. Thank you so much.
That was fantastic. I think I could have easily watched the entire exhibition without any complaints. Thanks for that.
From someone who is not really a Caravan and Motor home enthusiast I really enjoyed the content thank,s for sharing my neighbor from across the way as a Hymer and regularly goes off on trips away I shall tell him of this and I,m sure he would be keen to see
Glad you enjoyed it, and I hope your neighbour enjoys it too - thanks for sharing!
Thank you Andrew so lovely to see, enjoyed every minute. I certainly wouldn't have been bored had you gone in every one !
Best wishes
Glad you enjoyed it Nick!
I could quite happily spend the entire day there, possibly two! The styling of those vans and cars really is something.
Thanks for this absolutely great visit of the Hymer museum. We really loved it. A must-see for us when we are around. 🤓😃👍🏻💚

Thanks for the info!
Thank you Andrew for this amazing vidéo. I loved it.👍👍👍

Thank you Andrew. that was fascinating, Dad bought our 1st caravan in 1958, it was a Berkley!!!!
Wow!
Fascinating, will have to go one day. Even my 2CV might be able to tow one of these!
Wow, just wow what a treat. I will add this to my list of must see places in Germany!
Well this is the wow factor. One jest want too run around over and over looking at everything. Thank you so much for sharing spectacular art off vehicle's. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
just have to pay that place a visit, great vid Andrew!
This probably makes me very sad but when you get home, it would be lovely to see another video about the museum - all the bits that hit the cutting room floor from this one . . . until then, I am just going to have to watch this one again 😉
Sadly, there is nothing on the floor. This was planned throughout the morning then shot in the afternoon, so it was all prepared.
You need to show all of them!!!
I loved every second of this video!! I am totally inspired to go there someday
Brilliant! Then my work here is done - have fun! :)
We can tell how much you enjoyed that, your enthusiasm came across. Sort of place I’d have spent all day in. Gary much less so…
Yeah, you'd have to leave Gary in the Biergarten creche... :)
Ah, that was really interesting, thanks Andrew 😀
Wow Detlefs 1939 little pop top is a tear drop 😳
Wow, what a load of cuties.
Great video, really enjoyed it thank you for that 👍👍👍👍

Just magical, thanks Andrew xx
Very enjoyable. Thank you.

thank you! great tour o/
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video Andrew, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Martin!
Coventry Knight fold down bath .There mobile banks are stunning
Nice tour!! Fascinating to see the oldies!!..always wondered at what point did the have electric hook ups start.. cause I'm assuming their batteries didn't last very long?
It was hand or foot pumps and gas lights a go-go. No batteries, no EHUs. Simpler days. It was in the 1980s EHUs and batteries became more popular.
@@andrewjditton thanks fit the info, was watching intently thinking " Is that a plug socket i see?" But as you say, the teardrops, pop ups they've been done before.. funny how it's all going full circle! Any how safe journeys and looking forward to the next.
@@scottwilson5426 Aha, many people retro-fit mains electrics to vintage caravans.
Great video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Great video that is a art museum as far as I'm concerned 👍
That Mitchibushi for me.
What a great video, need to go.
Glad you enjoyed it!

“Hellooo” in all of those vans but you missed doing it in the Airstream.
Actually Rob, of my last 10 videos, this was the 10th least watched according to the back end of UA-cam.
My favourite vintage caravan is the American Spartan
Beautiful!
🤩🥰👍😁🇳🇱thank you!
🔥🔥🔥
brsitol uk 1910 already making caravans ,1880s starting
I wonder; why can’t we design products like this any more (in general) ? Not only the caravans but the cars look so much better in the 40-50-60’s
the early ones show that it shouldn't cost 6k or 18k or a million to deck out a practical comfy interior...just look at that pop out real basin like used to be in homes!
