Maker&Son | Australia Wool Manufacturing

One of the unique things about Maker&Son is that everything we make is by hand, by talented craftspeople. The wool we use in Australia comes from an organic farm that is less than 50km from our workshop in Melbourne. The sheep are reared in a beautiful grassland habitat and the farm they live on extends over 440 acres. As a result of how the animals live and their varied diet, the wool and the wadding that is produced is incredibly soft to handle. One of the added benefits of wool is that it is naturally fire retardant and there is no need for chemical treatments to ensure we make it to the highest safety standards. At Maker&Son we try to source sustainably wherever we can and we will always be transparent about the materials we use and where they come from.
