I have a 2001 UK, I think that model came out in the US in 2003,... had been dropped damaged the fairings.... so I cut it in half removed the air box and fitted air pods, lowered the seat hight low behind the thank, made a lower set of rails removed All plastics made forward controls out or spanners mounted onto the lower rails and went all out rat basically a naked fjr with a low seat and feet forward like a cruiser.... And it is wicked quick

I never get that off-throttle exhaust popping. The only thing about the '12 FJR I don't like is the heat in the summer, even with the louvers open.

I get those pops even with the stock mufflers. It's hard to stay out of the heat though
