Just put a PPE cooler in. its more than twice the size and it bolts right in using factory lines. Yes its over 300 but it performs way better than U can imagine. And comparing 300 to the cost of an Allison rebuild U will be way ahead.
I towed a 30 foot camper for 9 years and never even got close to overheating my Allison transmission. We climbed most every mountain in this country. Those lines will leak now. Upgrade to the flexible lines.
I noticed it being 10-15 degrees cooler. Not a big difference but didn’t cost anything. I was going to do the same thing to dads GMC but it has an opening to allow airflow to the trans cooler. It’s just the Chevy that’s buried behind the bumper.
Why not just leave the bracket as it was, leave everything as it was and just flip it 180°? Back flush the cooler if you’re concerned about reversing the flow

You know you can just take the cap off the transmission lines and there’s a retaining clip don’t have to break them loose with a wrench
Did not know that. I’ll go that route if I have to take those off again
Zie Ties is the best fix in most cases.
If it’s loose and shouldn’t be use zip ties and duct tape. If it’s tight and should be loose use wd40. That’s most repairs covered with 3 tools.

My trans runs cooler on a hot day so it was worth it for me. After 8 months, no leaks so far.
So how much cooler is it keeping the trans?
