  • Location number 3 on the whirlwind Korea tour is the second largest city in the country - Busan. We stayed for 48 hours and managed to squeeze so much in! We visited Gamcheon Culture Village, Huinyyeoul Culture Village, Busan Air Cruise, Busan X The Sky and went stand-up paddle boarding on Gwangalli Beach. #korea #busan

    How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these UA-cam videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
    Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
    Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

    Busan is amazing! I lived near there for a year, and I love you showing me what it looks like today. I don't like cold noodles either :). You should have tried Kalgugsu, it is warm noodle soup and delicious.

    These videos have made me miss Korea and think about planning a trip back. Even after living there for 2 years, there's always more to see. Busan, and especially the small towns and national parks, are so very unique and lovely to visit.

      My partner and I plan to honeymoon in Japan and then tag on an additional country for 3ish nights after because we will be so close to so many smaller Asian countries that have amazing food, culture, history, etc. We were leaning towards Thailand or Phillipines because we thought South Korea might be too expensive after going to Japan. Based on this series it seems as if South Korea might be a little more affordable than what I thought, but not as affordable as other options. It gives me a lot to think about.

    I know you already have many lovely travel groups planned for next year, and I love so much that you do them surrounding activities you love. It's videos like these, though, that make me wish there was just one additional group travel option. May I suggest an option for 2025 where the travel style is giving us a taste of everything the country has to offer? This is in no way knocking the trips you plan. They all seem absolutely fab. I just know when I make a larger travel journey, that's the one trip I can afford a year. For instance, I spent 4 nights in Canada and also randomly went to a T-Pain concert the night before leaving. We went to Niagra Falls and Montreal over the 4 nights. We ate well, explored the city, slept in a hotel next to the falls, went out to Montreal's Boys Town, went on a wine tasting, and experienced all of the Tim Hortons and Dollaramas in between. We did what we could to pack as much as we could into that time because that was going to be our big trip of the year. I'm giving this example because I think you would be an absolute blast to travel with, but I've never been scuba diving, and I have never hiked in super high altitude. I live in the plains of Illinois, for reference. Haha! I think doing a group trip similar to the activities you get up to in videos like this one would be an absolute blast, because it is truly a little bit of everything. I think you would have a lot of interest, honestly. Just in case you might think about doing something maybe in Mexico or Colombia or Thailand? Someplace you're super familiar with, but is also a bit more affordable than Australia or New Zealand. This is just an idea I have after every video like this one. Cheers, from Illinois!

    • @TheShauNanigans
      @TheShauNanigans 7 місяців тому

      @BackpackingBananas Oh wow! I didn't realize there was a Mexico trip already. Or maybe you mentioned it, and I forgot. :) I only remembered Pakistan, the boat trip in the Mediterranean, and the scuba trip (which is already a lot, obviously. You are a super star.) Never mind then. Carry on. I am looking forward to learning more about Mexico! I likely can't do anything special until 2025 due to getting married next year, but hopefully, someday, I can join the fun. :) (Yes. That may have been why I mentioned 2025. Haha!)
      Cheers!

    Busan was my favourite place to visit in Korea. The only downside in Korea is the amount of public urination and spitting in the street and getting pushed in ques - something that was much more noticeable in comparison to Japan which is my favourite place to visit.

    When I was stationed at Kunsan, in the USAF, I too tried what I thought was a hot soup. Turns out that had the same thing. It was cold with cubes of ice in it. I wasn't at first offered the scissors, I felt like a fool trying to eat those cool noodles. Finally, a young man from a table across from us brought the scissors. Spoke broken english, thank goodness, And the rest of the experience went quite well! 😅
