No bobber stop first? I use braid as my main line and the fabric ones work best (vs rubber stops) - bobber stop - bead - water bobber - bead - swivel - leader (4 to 5 feet) - light wire hook (I use tru-turn crappie hooks). I fill my bobber about half way - you get long casts but the longer the cast along with more water makes the bobber sink lower. You can always adjust the amount of water - let out a drop or 2...or add. Who doesn't like seeing their bobber go under!
Also I use a loop knot on my hook - if you get wind knots in your leader simply replace it. I use line that I spool my jerkbait rod with but there is not enough to fill. Don't toss - use as leader material
This is much like a slip bobber rig. I would choose rubber stoppers than a swivel. Swivel acts as a stopper in this rig. And if you did put a stopper, you should tie a swivel for the hook leader. This way, you dont have to tie a leader with braid.
Yes. The swivel should be up against the wide end of the tube. And then 6 feet of 4 lb fluoro to the pistol Pete. I don’t think the bead is necessary. If you want to fish smaller flies, cut the leader down a bit and tie a double surgeons loop. Then loop to loop a 2’ section of fluoro fly tippet to your smaller flies.
What is the purpose of the casting bubble? Just to give weight for casting? Does it still float if it is partially filled with water? Why different knot for both sides of the swivel (i.e., Palomar and improved clinch knot)? What purpose does that serve? Thanks.
It gives weight and acts as a bobber. As a bobber it shows bites and suspends a certain depth. It floats since the water inside has the same density. Not sure on the knots - I just put a stopper and bead typically.
You put the Bubble on the main line in the wrong direction. The larger end needs to face the bait or the lure. The smaller end back to the rod. I was going to Sub but not sure you are doing it right.
Great video with good info and right to the point.

Shouldn't you thread the bubble at the wider side of the straw? It will keep the bubble straw locked tight when hitting against the swivel etc .

Great setup
