She seems to play very sharp and very well-articulated here, very playful - light and with an overall strongly coherent story - in some of her later performances she doesn't always come across as such. May be subjective. Great that you found such an old recording of her.!
She is a great pianist, but to unconditionally support Russian aggression in Ukraine, which Putin sees as a country led by Nazis, and which oppresses Russian-speaking nationals (which is a blatant lie) is incomprehensible and reprehensible. Especially since she knows how real life is in a democratic country like the US and Ukraine. And please think TROLL, of her husband is not a profesional soldier, then, why he must be in a war? So why You don't go and fight for Ukraine? The Great Hemingway fought in Spanish Civil war!
@@Desireyso58 I don't want anyone to go to battle in this senseless cruel war. What I am trying to convey to you TROLL is that this pianist supports this war without any empathy for the civilians who are suffering and also for the Russian young men who are forced to fight as conscripts. If she promotes this war, then you must also be willing to fight and fight. It is still understandable that ordinary citizens are indoctrinated by the Russian state TV in which they are presented against the Nazis, that is what the Ukrainians and Western Europeans are held for. They know nothing else. But Valentine knows the west and also Ukraine and should know that state propaganda only incites violence and hatred. Watch the other videos on the channel of the link, which regularly calls for cities such as Berlin and London to be reduced to ashes with nuclear weapons. It's not a parody. @John Valk Valentina's mother lived in Kyiv. So, I don’t think that her position on the oppression of Russian speakers in Ukraine is based on Russian propaganda. Her husband is a US citizen. He doesn't have Russian citizenship. Even if he had it, no one would have sent him to Donetsk, because he is not subject to mobilization due to his age. You left this comment under a video that was filmed when Putin wasn't yet elected president, and Valentina lived in the USA and didn't say a word about politics. Your comment is a little out of place here, isn't it? It would be better to place it under Valentina's interview (and not under the video of her playing the piano in 1999).
