tbh, it is the nobles that is doing this, not the kingdom. they command that you are not allowed to enter, even when a hostile army is apporaching to besige it. such castles should be left to their deserved fate. stay true to the king, then when the time comes and he tries to break them, join him and exact your vengance on the petty nobles.
What gets me if I behead the King of Battania, Why would someone in all the way in the Khuzaits or Aserai care? It's a stupid mechanic that makes zero sense.
