At 1:50 he didn’t actually eat Toad. Dedede can inhale projectiles, and the spores that Toad releases is technically one that can be inhaled. Toad disappeared back into wherever the heck he came from as soon as Dedede inhaled the last spore that Toad emitted, which is why it looked like he was high on shrooms. Just my two cents :)
