I hate wizards. Maybe they could focus on how to make a good set again, rather than how to make 20 sets that suck. They deliberately print cards that are overpowered just to boost sales. Examples like Nadu or One ring, Orcish bowmaster and many others. Overall they increase the powercreep so much that if it was a slide it would be illegal. They trade quality for sales. They're already milking the cow they're cooking. It's getting to the point that the sets have a shelf life now, and it ends when they ban the cards that they thought would make the set marketable and thus interesting for them. And it's not helped by massive reprints that have killed many cards like wrath of god. (I bought two for 406 and in 2 months they were worth 50 and then I opened a retro frame foil in a new set that was worth 20.) It completely disrupts my most favorite formats like legacy and before modern horizon 2 even modern which is now in a state of being unplayable. I used to like legacy but this is too much so now I'm going to start playing only competetive pauper and formats that don't manage. Congratulations you're killing the game, Wizard's Maybe you could do something like last time sell 60 proxies for $1000 cause it was a success and don't forget to sell this at grand prix yeah actually now it's a magic fest.

The way I see it they cannot kill the game itself, players will adjust, reject some sets, reject some formats, or simply make their own variations as I have with my closed Modern ecosystem. That and regular groups will police themselves tighter, by discouraging or banning outright cards the group does not want to see. I did that with Cube, told him if he plays New-Newlamog (Ulamog, the Defiler) in his premiere Eldrazi deck (he has two now, one colourless and then the MH3 precon) he's going to spark an arms race, going to push Azami down from an Ostruzna deck to Prague and he did not like her when I tested her against the lads here. Powercreep is not going anywhere, apparently (look at what's coming out in Duskmourn) though they have given indications print runs and reprints are being reigned in. As I said in the video my position is WotC needs a 'reset' set, one where the power level is throttled back the way it was when Kamigawa followed Mirrodin. Sure, some players would complain but they'll buy the cards anyway. 😀
