Some advice for you kind sir, use the pad of your trigger finger instead of the groove of your joint. It should keep you from pulling your shots! Good luck brother and great video!

I got a Marlin 1972. I reload for mine 165 grain ftx leverevolution powder I use the Hornady book 2200fps. Shoots great, shoots 170 grain factory pretty well to.
Love that lever gun! I have 2 model 336s, one in 30-30 and one in .35 Rem, 1965 and 1973 respectively. Here in the Southern Appalachian’s, we very rarely get over 75-80;yd shots at white tails or black bear, so we love the “Appalachian Assault Rifles”! I know finding ANY ammo is tough right now, but don’t discount 170 grainers. My 30-30 sprays those 150s around, but just switching to 170s resulted in 1/2” groups at 50yd and slightly over MOA at 100. Just a thought. You’re right on about trigger control and cool off between groups, but hang in there with the old girl… when she’s on, you’ll be glad you did! Happy Hunting😎👍

I inherited that same exact gun built in the 80’s. I was shocked to get .75 inches at 100y. Couldn’t believe it and have shot it many time since then with groups from .60 to 1.5 of an inch. That was all with Leverevolution loaded by Hornady. If I use Remington core lock I will get 1.5 to 2.5 inch groups. I highly recommend three things. First, CHECK YOUR SCOPE to see if it’s loose and try a different scope if it’s not. Second, put a light in the barrel and pay particular attention to the last six inches of the riffling. If that is in good shape check the crown of the barrel for gauges, etc. And lastly if you still can’t get better groups, you might want a gun smith to look at the head spacing. Good luck, have fun and be safe.

You appear to be anticipating the recoil and "jerking" the trigger. When the rifle goes off, it should be a complete surprise. It'll be a little loud and you'll feel a tap in your shoulder, but that's the extent of it. Hold your breath and practice focusing on nothing but the crosshairs as you slowly squeeze your entire hand. With my kids, I would have them dry fire practice this over and over. I also recorded them shooting so they could see themselves flinching. Takes time, and you'll get there my friend. On a side note, the trigger on the 336 isn't the best, so it'll be up to you to overcome it. I appreciate your honesty, respect, and patience with those who weren't so nice in their comments. @@easttexan2933 yea man the comments don’t bother me they just help me out , I still have learning to do but I will do what your saying and I don’t like shootin in lots of wind either, I have good luck before with monarch , I do plan on getting some trigger work on my rifle also, and thank bud for all the input it was very well detailed I appreciate it
@@tx512outdoors nothing but bullseyes for you !!
@@easttexan2933 yes sir that’s the plan, you know what’s weird, or whatever you wanna call it but I’m shooting sub moa with my Ruger predator 308 and my ruger ranch 450 bushmaster just the 30-30 had some difficulty but I’m working on it
Federal fusion 170 grain is what shoots the best in my marlin 336. It shoots terribly with any 150s like yours.
Mine likes 150gr but after shooting it with a hot ass barrel she don’t like any kind of ammo in her
Ever read much about barrel harmonics?? YOU are causing this rifle to shoot crazy. Dont rest the barrel tube or any part if the barrel on anything… it throws off the harmonics! Rest it on the forearm and see what you think.
Yes sir I’m aware of that now I’ll be visiting this video again to redo it
@@tx512outdoors cant wait.
No gun likes running a hot barrel ! Having this channel and name doesn't make you someone that should coaching others ? Owning a scalpel doesn't make you a brain surgeon ? The blind leading the blind !
@@dannyf100 I’m not coaching others, my channel isn’t about that, it’s about me showing everyone my time in the outdoors. I’m sorry you feel that way but thanks for watching this video and letting me know how you feel. Have a great day
Get the barrel off the rest. You're altering harmonics! Butt and forearm only on the rest.
Wrong way to to sight in a rifle……..
Yes sir I was told that and I’m working on it
Didn’t even seem like you zeroed it. Never saw you adjust the scope
I adjusted the turrets off camera, my GoPro was dying and I had to hook it up to my power bank
