As someone who used to professionally ice skate, the fact that she's doing this on wet ice is insane. Most skaters are extra careful right after a zamboni sets the ice because of how wet it can be, and snow is one thing because it stays more dry on the ice but that ish is WET. Geez. That's some bravery and mad skill.
A bit water on the ice makes it more slippery. Only when it gets deeper and there were puddles on the ice, it would slow her down. The ice skates by the way glide over the ice by melting a tiny bit of ice instantly. (It freezes back quickly).

Skating at Bryant Park with no people around AND in the rain.. lucky girl!! Last week we went to ice skate we walked straight out of the park after only a few minutes. It was packed!!

@On Ice Perspectives thank you. I misspelled backbend. I was a Ballroom dancer since childhood. I did a very similar step. I lifted my dress up on both sides & my left leg behind & did a slow backbend during a Vienese Waltz. Anyway, this made me so happy to watch & with my daughter who also loves dance & rain. I'm a fan. I miss my youth & the feeling when you are physically in your element. I look forward to her other performances. She is a beautiful inspirational dancer.

Gosh darn it, I'm so jealous right now. That's so impressive: the technical skill of her skating; the fluidity of her lower and upper body; the expressiveness conveyed throughout her movement; and of course, that perfectly executed spin! I'm jealous because I'm an ice skater, and I feel so far from being able to move others the way her performance just moved me...I must redouble my efforts if I'm ever going to move like this.

That cameraman has some moves as well keeping up with you. Thought rain would make it harder to skate but you make it seem so elegant and easy. Props.
