At a hindsight, when all the judges can sit down and analyze the answers of the 5 finalists, it will stand out that Bea has the best answer to a politically polarizing question. She answered it directly without deviating outside of the question. No cliches, no embellishments. Just straightforward answer.
The moment I heard Bea question I had an Adeline Castelino flashback. She was the best speaker in that group but got the toughest questions. The covid question was difficult to tackle when it's a touchy issue in india. And her body language showed nervousness.

That showcases that her answer came from the heart and from true beliefs. Paraguay was so cringe both times she opened her mouth. She was pretty but that was it. Miss India had the same question on the national pageant and Miss Universe. It is also difficult to think of a new answer from the same question and she still nailed to provide a well explained answer. She answered not just exact and precise but also with a heart💜

As a South African, I feel that you are being fair here. I think that Lalela is one of our most beautiful queens, even deserving of an international crown. I was, therefore, horrified when she said "cancel culture". I am sure that she meant "call out culture", as you said. Remember that, like many others, English is NOT her mothertongue; she speaks isi-Zulu. But this is an international stage. I was proud of her nonetheless. Queen of my heart.

Even if I have already been vaccinated, I would still not support a universal vaccine passport not because I don’t believe in the efficacy of vaccines but because I believe that a person’s right of control over his or her body takes precedence. I think what governments could do is to implement stricter guidelines for unvaccinated people without curtailing their right to travel among others. And as individuals, what we could do is to continually educate people about vaccines and to encourage them to get vaccinated not only for themselves but also for the people around them. P.S. I think Bea gave a strong answer and she deserves to be on the top 3. But either way, still proud of her.
To be honest, if you come to think and analyze the body and context of all the questions by listening to it a couple of times, among the five, Bea was the only one who answered the real question. Now it seemed that Miss Paraguay only made it to Top 2 because not only she was given a generic question (on body shaming) but she did use an interpreter so she could buy time to process her thoughts when she can easily respond to English (apparently she's a good speaker). Miss Philippines definitely was given the toughest question and because she, being an active navy reservist participating into the country's pandemic mitigation, answered appropriately and politically correct regardless of her level of calmness while answering. Too bad that in order to win the Q&A round, you need to impress not only the panel of judges but also the organization itself and while I am satisfied with her (Bea) Top 5 placement, she should have been in Top 3, replacing Miss Paraguay. You can easily cancel body shaming but you can have a difficult time justifying your sentiment towards universal mandate for vaccination passport.
I think Miss Paraguay shouldn't be on the top 3. She didn't really answer the question. It was only because of her delivery and perhaps her beauty which is why she was there.
I could say that Bea should be in the top 3 however the way she deliver her answer is kinda weak but among the 5 of them only bea answered the question.

All of them have great answers, however, I go for the Philippines because she answered the question directly and it's straightforward. Tbh while watching the finals, not to be bias my list were india, south africa, and Philippines. Columbia didn't answer the question and Paraguay, both s. Africa and india redeemed their answer at the end, but not really answer the main question. But i think MUO is looking for a relatable person, who has the emotion to speak with influence. Bea, our candidate, answered directly and went well. However, if only the Miss Universe organization allowed vloggers to have their clips, then we can rewatch and observed how the top 5 candidates answered the questions. Questions are hand pick on the first round and it depends on how easy and hard they pick the question. Delivering the answer is challenging especially if you are answering in front of hundreds or thousands of viewers. Bea got nervous and sometimes she pauses. I love her and let's be objective and please do understand that most of the Miss Universe winners answered confidently. ☺️

But, I personally think she did not directly answer the questions for the top five. She delivered her answer full of conviction and confidence, yes, it was not a bad answer, but for me something is missing. The question is how can you convince me? She could have provided an answer based on concrete evidence or effects brought about by climate change that are real like: increased heat, drought, rising sea levels, heavy rains, extreme cold, etc. one or two of these can convince the audience that climate change is not a hoax. Further, she could have talk how India experienced climate change to make it more personal and closer to home. It was a great answer by virtue of the delivery and power words she mentioned but for me, it lacks evidence. Show me evidence to convince me. Like what Boy Abunda said, search your core, what is your core, if you answer based on your experiences, on what you believe in, on where you passion lies, you can never go wrong and it makes you relatable and believable.
hello! luis, hope ur ok! during ms universe pageant i thought philippines, india nd south africa. bea's question s hard nd politically related. she answered direct to the question. but pinoy loves queen Harnaaz so much.
The problem with both India and Columbia's answers is that they're both rather passionate about what is being asked but are not really answering the questions asked. Columbia talks about women being 'capable' of making a difference but the question was 'what difference exactly?'. India similarly was asked how would you convince naysayers but her answer was more to the question 'how do you feel about climate change?'. She did have the best delivery though and could come up with a good catchphrase that probably stayed with the judges and pushed her to top 3. Paraguay's answer also did not really address what was being asked. How are you supposed to cultivate inner beauty when you're perpetually being shamed for how you look on the outside? South Africa answered the question but started with the negative and then flipped to the other side which sort of makes one look indecisive and generally just trying to hide a mistake. Again she had good delivery so that probably also works in her favour. Philippines probably had the best answer of the 5. She was decisive (even if controversial) and talked about what works best in the present situation. I wish she would have mentioned 'research' somewhere in her answer but otherwise too it was perfect. She was only let down by her nervous delivery. Just based on everything I'd say South Africa gave the best answer followed by the Philippines...followed by the rest of the 3 in whatever order you'd like to place them coz in my opinion they didn't really answer the question.

The panelists probably have a list of conditions that the winner must satisfy so that they could effectively represent the MU organization for the next year. I already said she has the best delivery of the 5 and is able to think and talk off the cuff on different subjects without hesitation or too many fillers which is an important attribute for anyone who's gonna have a role as a public speaker internationally. Whether the answer perfectly fits the question is not the criteria here but the delivery, confidence and way of talking and I think she ticks all these boxes. Here am just analyzing the answers given not whether the contestant deserves to be Miss Universe.
The main question for india is how she will covince others who didt believed in the climatw change .. It should be a process . Eitherway, still proud of her .. She trully nailed the last question though .. Congrats Miss india for bringing again the crown to Asia.

Interesting fact about Harnaaz's finale silver gown was that it was made by India's first transwoman design "saisha shinde". When designer n harnaaz was discussing about finale gown harnaaz told her that she want a orange gown bcuz it was her luck colour. But designer was not sure about orange gown. So she decided a silver gown. But keeping her Lucky colour orange in mind, she stitched a Lil piece of orange fabric inside the silver gown. So her Lucky colour be with her.
Bea's answer was on point but she should have answered it with conviction and confidence. Let's remember that judges don't have that much time to digest the answers of the candidates and MU is looking for not just pretty face but an eloquent speaker.

For me the question for bea is the hardest question and it's hard to make a satisfactory answer to both side and any of her answer depend on the judges point of view if the judge is against the mandatory vaccination passporting then that person will give bea a failed or low points/score so for me the level of question for the top 5 is not fair I think the plot form, the pattern of the question or the topic must be in the same level and content

Personally, I think Miss Paraguay shouldn't be on the top 3. She didn't really answer the question, instead, she just answered it in a loud manner. She even used a translator along with Miss Colombia but they were able to answer outright in English. I thought Miss South Africa would have been deserving of the crown. Miss India didn't answer the question too. She just answered with conviction. It's a 50-50 for me, not answering it on her first statement and making amends on the second statement. If I were the judge, I would have to place Miss Paraguay on the 5th spot, Miss Colombia on the 4th spot, Miss Philippines on the third, as she stuttered and I don't agree on mandating vaccine passports, Miss India for first runner-up and the crown going to Miss South Africa.

The term Universal Vaccination Passport is something that we haven't talked in the Philippines and therefore I understand why Bea, everytime she mentioned the term, stuttered.
No matter how good and correct the answers of the ladies, but it is still the average scores prevail. Unfortunately, Bea’s answer to a contoversial question can be assessed in a kinda personal point of view of the individual judge. I guess no delibration but tallying of scores is the only thing happened after the q&a portion. So, the ave score of the ladies is very close to each other and that explains the top 3. (This is just my opinion) I do love Bea’s answer. Her calmness made her answer not sounding imposing/dictating. Otherwise, people who don’t believe in universal vacc passport will have a violent reaction in their mind esp if the answer was delivered in empowering tone.

Now it seemed that Miss Paraguay only made it to Top 2 because not only she was given a generic question (on body shaming) but she did use an interpreter so she could buy time to process her thoughts when she can easily respond to English (apparently she's a good speaker). Miss Philippines definitely was given the toughest question and because she, being an active navy reservist participating into the country's pandemic mitigation, answered appropriately and politically correct regardless of her level of calmness while answering. Too bad that in order to win the Q&A round, you need to impress not only the panel of judges but also the organization itself and while I am satisfied with her (Bea) Top 5 placement, she should have been in Top 3, replacing Miss Paraguay. You can easily cancel body shaming but you can have a difficult time justifying your sentiment towards universal mandate for vaccination passport.
I think Miss Paraguay shouldn't be on the top 3. She didn't really answer the question. It was only because of her delivery and perhaps her beauty which is why she was there.
I could say that Bea should be in the top 3 however the way she deliver her answer is kinda weak but among the 5 of them only bea answered the question.

If you will rank them by their answers, how will you do that Luis? All of them have great answers, however, I go for the Philippines because she answered the question directly and it's straightforward. I think if the MU committee will deliberate well with all their answers, I can surely see India, Philippines and South Africa as part of Top 3.

Tbh while watching the finals, not to be bias my list were india, south africa, and Philippines. Columbia didn't answer the question and Paraguay, both s. Africa and india redeemed their answer at the end, but not really answer the main question. But i think MUO is looking for a relatable person, who has the emotion to speak with influence. And i think if Bea enters the top 3 I guess India would still win because she's just really a empathic speaker. 😁

Bea, our candidate, answered directly and went well. However, if only the Miss Universe organization allowed vloggers to have their clips, then we can rewatch and observed how the top 5 candidates answered the questions. Questions are hand pick on the first round and it depends on how easy and hard they pick the question. Delivering the answer is challenging especially if you are answering in front of hundreds or thousands of viewers. Bea got nervous and sometimes she pauses. I love her and let's be objective and please do understand that most of the Miss Universe winners answered confidently. ☺️

I love Miss India and I think seeing her interview and performance cemented her status a contender and frontrunner and she live up to the expectations.
But, I personally think she did not directly answer the questions for the top five. She delivered her answer full of conviction and confidence, yes, it was not a bad answer, but for me something is missing.
The question is how can you convince me? She could have provided an answer based on concrete evidence or effects brought about by climate change that are real like: increased heat, drought, rising sea levels, heavy rains, extreme cold, etc. one or two of these can convince the audience that climate change is not a hoax.
Further, she could have talk how India experienced climate change to make it more personal and closer to home. It was a great answer by virtue of the delivery and power words she mentioned but for me, it lacks evidence. Show me evidence to convince me.
Like what Boy Abunda said, search your core, what is your core, if you answer based on your experiences, on what you believe in, on where you passion lies, you can never go wrong and it makes you relatable and believable.

hello! luis, hope ur ok! during ms universe pageant i thought philippines, india nd south africa. bea's question s hard nd politically related. she answered direct to the question. but pinoy loves queen Harnaaz so much.
The problem with both India and Columbia's answers is that they're both rather passionate about what is being asked but are not really answering the questions asked. Columbia talks about women being 'capable' of making a difference but the question was 'what difference exactly?'. India similarly was asked how would you convince naysayers but her answer was more to the question 'how do you feel about climate change?'. She did have the best delivery though and could come up with a good catchphrase that probably stayed with the judges and pushed her to top 3.
Paraguay's answer also did not really address what was being asked. How are you supposed to cultivate inner beauty when you're perpetually being shamed for how you look on the outside?
South Africa answered the question but started with the negative and then flipped to the other side which sort of makes one look indecisive and generally just trying to hide a mistake. Again she had good delivery so that probably also works in her favour.
Philippines probably had the best answer of the 5. She was decisive (even if controversial) and talked about what works best in the present situation. I wish she would have mentioned 'research' somewhere in her answer but otherwise too it was perfect. She was only let down by her nervous delivery.
Just based on everything I'd say South Africa gave the best answer followed by the Philippines...followed by the rest of the 3 in whatever order you'd like to place them coz in my opinion they didn't really answer the question.

Because our each action could kill or save nature." Why would that person be bothered if they don't believe in climate change in the first place.
@ishaan soni See am not saying she doesn't deserve the crown. Am Indian, am just as happy as you are. The panelists probably have a list of conditions that the winner must satisfy so that they could effectively represent the MU organization for the next year. I already said she has the best delivery of the 5 and is able to think and talk off the cuff on different subjects without hesitation or too many fillers which is an important attribute for anyone who's gonna have a role as a public speaker internationally. Whether the answer perfectly fits the question is not the criteria here but the delivery, confidence and way of talking and I think she ticks all these boxes. Here am just analyzing the answers given not whether the contestant deserves to be Miss Universe.
The main question for india is how she will covince others who didt believed in the climatw change .. It should be a process . Eitherway, still proud of her .. She trully nailed the last question though .. Congrats Miss india for bringing again the crown to Asia.

If she may have sounded right when she delivered her answer, she could have easily gone to the Top Three. Bea struggled, but that's okay, we are still happy with her performance and are proud of what she did last December 12. She is still one of our best bets in the Miss Universe competition.
Interesting fact about Harnaaz's finale silver gown was that it was made by India's first transwoman design "saisha shinde". When designer n harnaaz was discussing about finale gown harnaaz told her that she want a orange gown bcuz it was her luck colour. But designer was not sure about orange gown. So she decided a silver gown. But keeping her Lucky colour orange in mind, she stitched a Lil piece of orange fabric inside the silver gown. So her Lucky colour be with her.
Bea's answer was on point but she should have answered it with conviction and confidence. Let's remember that judges don't have that much time to digest the answers of the candidates and MU is looking for not just pretty face but an eloquent speaker.

BEA should have been in top 3 if only the judges deliberate the answers of the girls because its about the content and the substance of the message.
For me the question for bea is the hardest question and it's hard to make a satisfactory answer to both side and any of her answer depend on the judges point of view if the judge is against the mandatory vaccination passporting then that person will give bea a failed or low points/score so for me the level of question for the top 5 is not fair I think the plot form, the pattern of the question or the topic must be in the same level and content

Thank you for your analysis Luis- I guess the answers given by the top 5 contestants were perceived subjectively by the judges.
The true top 3 should have been: India, Paraguay & Philippines!
Personally, I think Miss Paraguay shouldn't be on the top 3. She didn't really answer the question, instead, she just answered it in a loud manner. She even used a translator along with Miss Colombia but they were able to answer outright in English.
I thought Miss South Africa would have been deserving of the crown.
Miss India didn't answer the question too. She just answered with conviction. It's a 50-50 for me, not answering it on her first statement and making amends on the second statement.
If I were the judge, I would have to place Miss Paraguay on the 5th spot, Miss Colombia on the 4th spot, Miss Philippines on the third, as she stuttered and I don't agree on mandating vaccine passports, Miss India for first runner-up and the crown going to Miss South Africa.

Philippines should be in the top 3, really! It's because she's the only who really answered the question. Compared to the 4 other girls, she got the more difficult question but as I said she's the only one who answered the question directly. It's just that the 4 girls sounded right coz of how they deliver they're answer. Bea stuttered but she was able to answer and gave her point.

The term Universal Vaccination Passport is something that we haven't talked in the Philippines and therefore I understand why Bea, everytime she mentioned the term, stuttered.

No matter how good and correct the answers of the ladies, but it is still the average scores prevail. Unfortunately, Bea’s answer to a contoversial question can be assessed in a kinda personal point of view of the individual judge. I guess no delibration but tallying of scores is the only thing happened after the q&a portion. So, the ave score of the ladies is very close to each other and that explains the top 3. (This is just my opinion)
I do love Bea’s answer. Her calmness made her answer not sounding imposing/dictating. Otherwise, people who don’t believe in universal vacc passport will have a violent reaction in their mind esp if the answer was delivered in empowering tone.
