  • Band-Maid finished their 10th Anniversary tour at Yokohama Arena on November 26, 2023. They finished the show with this song, dedicated to their fans. We hear it for the first time here.
Band-Maid is a Japanese rock band formed in 2013. Their music style is often described as a fusion of hard rock and heavy metal with elements of pop. The band is known for their unique concept of combining maid costumes with their rock music, creating a distinctive visual identity.

The Yokohama show was the final show of their 10th Anniversary tour, it was I believe both their longest and largest show (audience capacity) of any show they've done. They were at their absolute best for that show (I wasn't there, but I watched the live stream). This was the final song of the night and it was the band thanking their fans for being with them, not that they need to. We know they appreciate us, and we obviously love them... that's why we can get a bit cranky when someone says something we perceive as negative. Some fans can't handle people not liking the band, I can, not everyone likes the same music, but not seeing the emotion in their music is very weird to me as I haven't connected to a band like this in... 30 years? And the connection was almost instant for me. 2 songs in and I was hooked. 150 songs in and it's not even remotely fading.

    From Japan
I was at that live show. It was a live performance of 3 hours and 30 minutes and 33 songs. It was their 10th anniversary live show, and when they formed, none of them thought they would last 10 years. As they continued their activities, a concert at Yokohama Arena became a distant goal for them, and Kanami composed Endless Story in order to sing along with their fans there. The concert had many highlights, and the three and a half hours passed in the blink of an eye. The last song, Endless Story, was a song that promised to the fans as well.

I flew from Norway to be there and this was the first Okyu-ji I've ever attended. One thing is for sure, it wasn't my last.

I bought the livestream and woke up at 3:00 am to watch the entire event. I’m very proud of them. Such genuinely nice people who sincerely appreciate the fans.
This was the first time I had seen all five of them in tears. The Yokohama show was incredibly special for them and we are all very fortunate to be living in the time of their success.

Yep, this was the closer of a 33 song, 3+ hour long concert at Yokohama Arena celebrating their ten year anniversary. This is an older song, and i think because of that has a huge emotional impact with fans that have been with them a while. It's like your whole relationship with the band (and they really make you feel like you have a relationship) is spread out before your eyes, culminating in a joyous singalong. People that were at the show say that the crowd was 100 times louder than it shows on this venue, and having experienced one of their "one man shows" I can fully believe it. Their fans adore them, and they give the love right back. Life, at least in this moment, is indeed beautiful. Arrigato!

This was the last of 33 songs. And a tear will be shed if you're a full fledged Maidiac. Get to know their story and get to know the Maids and get to know how they really appreciate their fans and you will need a tissue the next time you watch this. Peace. 2.35

"Endless Story" was the final song in a 33 song set list. The concert, Band-Maid's Tenth Anniversary Tour Final, was three and a half hours long, played in front of a live audience of 10 to 11 thousand, and live streamed globally. I got up at 3 AM to watch the live stream that morning, and rewatched it about 10 more times before the stream subscription ended, then resubscribed and watched it 4 more times. Then I pre-ordered the special edition Blu-ray boxed set of the concert. Did I say that I'm a huge Band-Maid fan, a Maidiac?
These ladies knew that this evening might possibly be the greatest achievement of their careers so far and they pulled out all the stops to make it so. The 32nd song on the set list was a new arrangement of a song from their very first album "Forward" and it was a fitting lead into "Endless Story" featuring a montage of the band from their ten years together. When the ???? premier was announced I was hoping they would post "Forward" but "Endless Story" is just as good.

I got my 60 year old butt up in the middle of the night to get the live stream of this show. Felt intimate even online. I honestly don't know if I've ever loved a band like I love BAND-MAID. My Spotify play list for them is just under 6 hours. I love it all.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a band connect with the audience and each other more than they do, and I've seen a lot of bands. The performances are so tight and good, yet it's clear they're having the time of their lives. During live shows, they have a couple of intermissions when they basically interact with the crowd, hang out on stage, and goof around with each other. They even did it at this show--in an arena in front of something like 10.000 people, during a 33-song, 3.5 hour show. It was spectacular.
I'll let others talk about some other well-known US tour antics from the last couple of years like, "The Bowling Incident" and "Minneapolis Mayhem."
And there are several more from other shows and tours.

Thank you for the reaction. Really beautiful song and performance. This is one of those rare bands where the harmony between the members really shows in their music and performances. They care for each other like sisters. And they really appreciate their fans, and have written numerous songs just to express it. They even one year created an April Fool's alter ego band just to surprise their fans (that band is called "Band-Maiko" - same band but they're dressed in apprentice geisha style costumes and incorporate traditional Japanese instrumental sounds into their rock). I'd recommend checking out Gion-Cho by Band-Maiko (a song written only for Band-Maiko so I don't think they've ever performed it as Band-Maid) for something to make you smile (the official vid is posted on their YT channel).

Yokohama Arena, yep I was there! AWESOME!!! What was great about this version...they added an additional verse specifically written for this show, when Saiki walks down to the runway to the forward stage. A very heartfelt and personal addition for both the fans and the Maids. 😭 PO!🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!!!🤘😆🤘

This song didn't catch my attention much when it came out, but it has changed.
Saiki's emotional and powerful vocal live delivery lifts a song to the next level. And this was the closer of the legendary live where their Budohkan live was announced, and then Covid hit and the concert was cancelled. They didn't play this song at all during Covid from how I remember, until US tour 2022. It has special meaning to it now, the song that united the band and the fans with shared memories.
This song may sound mediocre to non-fans, but triggers emotional responses of fans and band members.

I just took a look at the songs you have reviewed and I really don't think it's been the best representation of the Band Maid sound. Their
catalogue is huge but I would recommend Blooming, Choose Me, Domination Live. I think this would give you a better feel of the band.
These girls are really something special and after seeing them live, it really blew me away. I have seen all the "great bands" in the last 40
years and these girl are the real deal and can rock with the best of them.

You picked a song and it was fabulous, right? That's the way it works with them. It might be what you expected and wanted, or not ... but it will be fabulous. You have several comments saying this one was written "for the fans" but it didn't start that way. It was just another one of their ballads. They closed their servings with it pretty much the whole year, so they added that last verse which made it for the fans. There was no encore. From the sound of it, Saiki pretty much left it all on the stage and didn't have anything left for any more songs.
