      @@hinamatsuro1908 that is true but vi was hurt bad. Silcos people was still alive and out there cause we see them join silco when he was with powder. In my opinion if they could have escaped it would be slim and when they finally stop to recover I feel silcos guys would have still found them. But it would have been cool to see what the firelights could have been with vi, echo, and powder leading.

      @@hinamatsuro1908 Actually, I think it is Powder that would actuallly jump in and protect Vi. I think she would have been seen her sister's fear. Remember, Vi just witnessed her family's death and fall out of a building. I think she would have been too emotionally compromised to do anything. If anything, this minor difference of Powder seeing Vi's fear and tackling Silco, probably ends up in her being captured and Vi running away on instinct, can make for a very different scenario.

    Honestly, Vi's and Jinx's lack of separation would be super unrealistic. Vi being a bruiser, solving everything with her fist, losing her family to the Enforcers and the other for her sister's miscalculated bomb, it just not believable that she instantly overcomes grief. She only "abandoned" her sister to cool down and avoid hurting her more.
    Also, Silco appeared not soon after with his goons. Between Marcus and Silco, Vi and Powder would hardly escape together.

      Pretty much. Generally, as "ideal" as these "happy resolutions" for the sisters, they come done VERY hard on Vi. With the burdens of responsibility overwhelmingly falling on her 14-15 year old shoulders (at the time). "Its all on her" ... is the default manifestation of her own trauma, she's kinda always been forced to bury deep down and set aside in service of protecting Powder. And this is highlighted in Jinx regularly passing the blame for her own actions onto Vi (hell, that final song is literally about blaming someone else for your own choices, made in response to their inability to love the monster you've become unconditionally). That said, the only thing that saved Powder was her latching onto Silco to fill that codependent void insider her. Had Vi not left, or came back, and prevented that ... Silco would have killed them both.

    I actually think if Vi and Jinx/Powder were Firelights, they would pose a serious threat to Silco’s power. Possibly the Underground would have ended up in full civil war with itself, and Silco would never have taken over the Last Drop.
    I also wonder if Powder would eventually have stolen a Hextech gemstone anyway, except to use to make a weapon for the Firelights rather than Silco. And would she still suffer from the trauma of killing her family, even with Vi there to reassure her? Who knows?

      You're right, she would still suffer from trauma no matter who will be their to reassure her. Vi or Silco it doesn't matter to Jinx, or Powder in this context, she would still feel like a jinx anyways, but you are right that she would probably still steal a crystal anyways, because since Vi never goes to prison, and doesn't meet Caitlyn. She, just like Jinx, would hate piltover and enforcers in general and unironically, be just like Silco, doing anything to gain their own independence, just like Ekko who would hate them as well, the only difference is if Heimedigger still gets expelled from the council and meets Ekko. Ekko would still change and he wouldn't hate Pitover as much anymore. The only question is how is he going to convince Vi, or even Powder to agree with him? Marcus would still want his piece of meat in Stillwater so he would still be working with Silco to capture them and lm tired of writing now. You get my point.

    I'm pretty sure a creator of the show has said that Arcane isn't completely canon to the game. A lot of the lore and the characters backstories in the game don't match up with arcane. This being said I really do not want to believe that Jinx and Vi will be split up forever. I just don't wanna believe it. I know it's super unlikely that Jinx is gonna get a redemption or that Vi is gonna leave Caitlin for Jinx, but I wanna believe that they will reunite some way that isn't punching or shooting at each other. But what I do know is that Jinx has literally nothing to lose anymore. She killed her friends, both her adopted fathers, and her sister doesn't except her for who she is (Jinx). I am really curios to see where that gets her because she's not fighting for anything anymore. She didn't care that much about the nation of Zaun but she knew it was important to Silco that's why she helped him. But what in the world is she going to do now? I'm so excited for season 2!

    Actually it is a good thing that Vi and Jinx are separated... I know many of fans would wish otherwise 😅 but the thing is Vi does not really see that Jinx/Powder has her own personality and is her own person. She wants to have her little sister back and shape her personality how she sees it appropriate. Even if it is for her own good, she could never become totally free of her sister's expectations. Yes Jinx twisted and chaotic but I can relate, as younger sibling, to the idea of freedom to be what you are, good and bad, without being in shadow of the older sister.

    If Vi managed to get through to Jinx on the tower in episode 6, it wouldn't have been too long until Jinx felt betrayed. Deep abandonment issues don't go away overnight. It's easier to create an insecurity then overcome it.
    Vi didn't know about the crystal on the tower, but I believe that if she found out about it after getting Jinx to go with her she would try to pacify both Caitlyn and Jinx. And ultimately, Jinx would overhear a conversation where Vi promises Caitlyn to help her return the crystal. Abandonment issues still deep, Jinx would leave and meet up with Silco who would be looking for her. Her trust and bond with Silco would become stronger as she finally chooses to fully become Jinx. Vi may realise that she can't have both Caitlyn and Jinx in her life and she will have to come to terms with that somehow.
    Anyway that's just my thoughts, plus, I really wanted Silco to live.

    The only way Vi doesn't leave Powder is IF Powder had of done what Vi told her to do and not be a part of rescuing Vander. But this is where Powders volatile nature caused by abandonment comes in to play. Like the situation was hopeless either way and due to the bomb killing nearly everyone including the bad guys at least vi escaped.
    I love how the story is being told currently and it's so much more compelling this way, but it also makes me anxious, sad, and stressed.

    Here are the dominos: if Vi stayed with Powder, there would be nothing to distract Silco from his search from them.
    Worst case scenario: he catches up to them with his crew and that jagged knife.
    Middle-ground scenario: they would run into Marcus. While there are two of them, they are in no shape to fight, or at least leave the fight quietly. At best, they would shake him off, only to alert Silco. At worst, one of them or both of them would end up in Piltower's hands. And it is highly unlikely that Powder would be put in a prison, like Vi. So an orphanage, or maybe even left in the streets. If picked up by Silco, she would become Jinx, but more actively at war with piltover. If by, say, Ekko, she could become part of the future Firelights. But, being the same age as Ekko and his crush, she could sway it in much, MUCH darker direction.
    If they somehow evade Silco, evade Marcus, and escape, they still have to deal with what happened. The contempt will be there, or, in Powder's case, the percieved contempt. Without Silco or Vander, there is no one to empower her to be a stronger version of herself. Especially since Vi would be extremely unlikely to invite Powder to join her for any dangerous future actions. Both to protect her and out of fear of Powder endangering a mission. Eventually, this would break Powder.
    As painful as it is, I fear Powder would sooner or later join the shimmer addicts.

Given how close of friends they were, it's almost guaranteed that he has tried to bring Powder back. Ekko knows Vi well too, so for him to admit to Vi that Powder is too far gone, it wasn't an easy conclusion. Vi is the one who could not face the fact of what her sister has grown to be. She wanted to believe that Jinx is just a brainwashed product and that the good old Powder can be "awaken" and come back. She was wrong til the very end of the show. Also, Ekko would've thought that Powder was dead for some time, until he finally met her as Jinx working for Silco. The moment they found Jinx was when they were finally isolated, away from the city, and unfollowed. That's why Ekko's group showed up then. They got Vi and Jinx outnumbered. If Jinx represents Zaun then Vi is the toxic air that Zaun is entrenched in. Silco truly was the independence from oppression that "Zaun" needed.
    Funny how Vi later on becomes an enforcer. What a sister who thought you'd miss her.

    I don't think Powder would've kept her name tbh, Silco didn't change his name so it's probably something that came from her. Given that she has a trauma with being perceived as weak, like in real people the transition between the two was probably slow, were Powder started to slowly hate herself more and more till she chose to distance herself comepletely from her old persona.

  • @lastgirl7071
    @lastgirl7071 2 роки тому

    I think Vi would have either heard Silco and his goons approaching and hidden herself and Powder, or she would taken them down in a fit of rage (like we see with Sevika)
    Then it gets murkier. I think Vi was only able to miss, and sort of forgive, Powder because she was locked up and away from her. If they had both managed to escape together, then I believe Vi would have distanced herself from Powder in an attempt to give herself some space to grieve (like she was trying to do when she initially left Powder). Powder will still probably internalize that she’s a jinx and will have flashbacks of Mylo and Claggor but not as violent, as Vi will still donher best to help her.

    I reallly hope the writing in Arcane season 2 doesn't get bogged down by the pre-existing lore of League of Legends. Arcane is so much more well written than League, it's a masterpiece and deserves to be treated as something stand-alone. Bascially I just don't want the chracters to have to stick to their original lore because I think that would be predictable and unecessary, when there's so many different directions things could go and when the writing in this show is already so brilliant.

      I think it will result in the same lore as LoL. Going with a different path but still arriving at the same destination. And ultimately the path taken will be much more detailed and exciting to give more meaning to the final destination. Example of this is Powder becoming jinx. I knew she would become jinx but as the episodes progressed, i really hoped that she would not become jinx, even if i already knew the outcome. And thats one of the things i like abt this show, completely twisting the outcome from my expectations. It can make some super major twists happen very unexpectedly, which makes me second think my own expectation and prediction. I knew powder was gonna become jinx, but in the last few eps i thought maybe not, but at the end she became jinx.

  • @The_Story_Of_Us

    If Vi and Powder stayed together of course Jinx would never happen. They would have gone back to Ekko and they would have founded the Firelights all together. As Powder grows up and becomes more capable, her insecurities would naturally start to fade as she would be able to make herself feel more helpful and as we end up seeing, her inventions start to work even better than she could have hoped for as a kid. We see how fast Vi ultimately forgives her for killing Mylo and Claggor when they are separated from each other in Arcane, so when together it would lead to the same outcome. All that extra muscle and without someone like Jinx to fight the Firelights for him, Silco would have way more trouble against the Firelights with both sisters thrown into the mix and his enterprise and position may struggle much earlier.
    And if you think about it, without Jinx, Silco never would have gotten that hextech crystal, but also without Jinx he’d be making the moves on Piltover and putting himself on the counsil’s radar much sooner, but fighting on his homefront as well, he would be in a far weaker position to demand anything, maybe even leading to an early Chem-Baron takeover as they weren’t interested in his dream of Zaun, only the enterprise he ran, one that would suffer at the hands of his campaign against Piltover and war with the Firelights.

  • @catroyalty6360
    @catroyalty6360 2 роки тому +2

    I'd like to think that Jinx and Vi wouldn't separate because I love them and want them to be sisters again, but realistically? I think this is how it'll happen:
    Jinx is having one of her episodes (y'know when she sees Claggor and Mylo like demons) after a fight that she almost lost, when she was fighting alongside Vi, and she suddenly sees someone new. Vi, but not how she is in the show. Vi, like a demon, smiling at Jinx, taunting her, calling her weak, calling her a Jinx. Jinx tries to shrug it off. It's her sister, she wouldn't do that, right?
    But the hallucination becomes more and more real. Screaming in Jinx's ears. Telling her that this is why she left her. That she's better off dead. And then she snaps out of it. But she can't just forget it. The real Vi notices that Jinx isn't ok and tries to step forward, but Jinx won't let Vi touch her. Jinx runs away and leaves Vi crying but unable to follow her (for reasons), perfectly paralleling how Vi "left" Powder.

    I doubt there ever would have been peace if Jinx was not seen by Silco as his daughter. The council would have gone to war with Zaun because Silco had nothing to offer, but himself as terms for an agreement. Also Jinx might not have become the antagonist she needed to be without Silco showing her that the best way to get respect from others is through fear. Which is the whole point of her character she uses fear to intimidate others. I dont think Vi would have taught her that. The story went the way it did because that is what makes the most sense. For all we know that rocket that she fired could be a dud; this was her first attempt at using it. It makes no sense to kill of Jayce or Victor since they are in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if she meets up with Victor at some point and Victor mentors her; the show didnt mention him recognizing her "inspired" talent for no reason. There so many directions the show could go. I certainly hope that there is more than just tragedy present with the show; although with Warwick all but confirmed I am pretty sure there is going to be a lot more tragedy in season 2.

    • @joyc.e.7511
      @joyc.e.7511 2 роки тому +2

      I do believe that the rocket will work, but maybe not be as devastating as it appears. Jayce and Victor will definitely survive, along with Mel, I think. Her armor was shining and she seemed to sense the rocket a split second before it hit the glass. I'm dying to know what that was about, as well as get more backstory on her and the type of family she comes from. At least some of the Council members will die, which may include Caitlyn's mom. That will separate Caitlyn from Vi due to Jinx's actions, with Caitlyn going after Jinx.
      I want Jinx and Victor (Jayce as well, to a lesser extent) to meet so badly. I'm not sure how the interaction would go, but they're both quite intelligent and could learn a lot from each other. Victor and Jayce meeting Ekko through Hiemendinger is another way things could go. I feel like most everyone is going to be against Jinx. But there's also the country of Noxus to worry about. Mel's mom mentioned war on the horizon, so I can see them being another enemy. I don't know how the main cast is going to get out of season 2 with no one dying, tbh.

    If Vi (or Vander) had understood Powder's illness and treated her accordingly, this never would have happened. She would have taken care of her sister and made sure she never felt so inferior she had to "prove herself" to begin with, meaning Powder never would have went big boom on the family. In this timeline, Jinx would have only come about from some other inventive (and less satisfying) conflict the writers would have had to come up with. Having the split go down the way it did was the perfect storm for Jinx, and made her character that much more believable.
    If Vi had understood Powder's illness (or shown even an ounce of self control in the heat of the moment), there would have been a rift there, but it would have been salvageable. Maybe the rift would have happened later in life, as Vi had to live with this resentment towards Powder she never acted on in the heat of the moment, so they gradually drifted apart. Or, in this timeline, Jinx sided with Silco because she, too, believed in the cause and Vi chose Vander's principles instead. This rift would eventually bring them further apart, and Jinx's fear of abandonment could have played out pretty close to the same as Arcane canon. Again, this way would not have been as satisfying or believable, but it would have been better than option A.
    Finally, if the re-connect went down post time skip, the answer would be easy, because it is what would have happened at that point (and did happen in later in the season). Vi would never accept Jinx for who she really is. She never even accepted Powder for who she was. So she would inevitably do as Silco told Jinx she would: She would leave once she saw this fictional "Powder" does not exist and never existed. In this timeline, Silco would not have had to die in order for Jinx to embrace herself. She would not have lost the one person who truly loved her, both as Powder and as Jinx (but obviously preferred her strong Jinx self more). She could have remained his fierce right hand, only becoming more unstoppable after seeing Vi was just like everyone else in her life. Vi left her because, of course she would. Silco was the only one that understood her, and she would make him proud of her. That, honestly, is the only version I would have liked more than what we got. Not because it would have been better, but because it would have been easier to watch.
    Jinx learning Silco was the only one that ever loved her, only in his death by her hand, was a punch right in the gut I still get emotional over. All because she could not see through Vi's self-absorbed obsession with a girl that never even existed in the first place. Truly great writing there, even if most people miss that part.

    To your little idea at the end of the video about Vi leaving Jinx in the later episodes of S1 if Vi stayed with her, visualizing that, I think it would play out similarly to Vi and Caitlyn splitting up in the "messy break up scene," except twice as messy with Jinx's mental health issues. Vi undoubtedly would keep a distance to make sure she wouldn't break her straight face (or not to cry, whichever you'd like to think), taking steps forward multiple times just to make sure Jinx wouldn't reach out for her, which she would, prompting Vi to run off, but not before a few messy goodbyes and assurances for Jinx that she's stronger than she thinks. Jinx probably would either run after her or stay frozen to her spot, either way ending with her having a mental breakdown similar to the one she had in ep3's final scenes. And with Jinx having attachment issues, she'll latch on to whoever, no matter her better judgement. Obviously, Silco won't take her in if she was fighting him, so she'd need someone else to latch onto. That would be Ekko, since they've been friends since they were little, they share the same cause.

    The assertion that the tower was the last opportunity Vi had to bring Powder back isn't entirely accurate, and is actually one of my only nitpicks with the story. The last opportunity Vi had was actually the bridge scene. Ekko was escorting Caitlyn across the river, Vi was heading back to try and rescue her sister, and Jinx attacks the bridge. Vi comes running back and helps Caitlyn to her feet, which causes Jinx to misinterpret this as Vi choosing Caitlyn over her. Ekko then appears and fights Jinx while Vi helps Caitlyn to the other side of the bridge, solidifying Jinx's perception that she had been abandoned once again.
    THIS was the last opportunity Vi had to reason with her sister, and she completely throws it away despite saving Powder being the stated driving force of her character at that moment. It doesn't make much sense to me why Vi chooses to help Caitlyn over the bridge while Ekko fights Jinx - all without even saying a single word to her sister, like "I'll be right back" - when Ekko had been the one who wanted to take Caitlyn to the Council only a moment ago. What motivation did Ekko have to stay and fight Jinx instead of helping Caitlyn while Vi stayed behind? It seems to play out the way it does for no other reason than because the story wanted a cool fight between Jinx and Ekko.
    How differently would things have played out if Vi had passed Caitlyn off to Ekko and then gone to her sister without the gemstone, showing her that she was not in fact choosing Caitlyn/Piltover over her?

      Jinx had just killed like 10+ enforcers, pretty much right in front of Vi's eyes. Vi is hard AF from prison and before, but she's not a cold-blooded killer. She was terrified of Jinx in that moment and didn't know what to do. She freezes up against Jinx multiple times and loses her words. Violence, her go-to in difficult situations, is more or less useless (she seems to perceive "Jinx" as a separate and distinct persona, presumably for the sake of her own sanity, which explains why she gives that name to the Council rather than Powder - she hasn't yet accepted that Jinx and Powder are the same person). This is a streetwise brawler we're talking about, not a smooth operator with maxed charisma who always knows exactly what to say. After Stillwater, it's kind of a miracle she's still so functional, honestly.
      As for Ekko, he obviously had a score to settle with Jinx and wasn't just gonna dip with Caitlyn (whom he literally just met and doesn't give two fucks about) while turning his back on the enemy who killed at least 5 of his friends like days earlier, not to mention all the firelights Jinx surely killed throughout the time skip.
      There are numerous plot holes, contrivances, and other writing mistakes in Arcane, but this really ain't one of 'em. Not only can all your issues be explained fairly easily, but I feel that the way things played out was more realistic than Vi busting out audience-level awareness of the circumstances (we've followed Jinx for a while, but Vi only knew adult Powder for like 3 minutes) and LV 100 Speech to talk a murderous, psychotic Jinx down from the edge in the face of a damned minigun. FFS, Jinx had just shot at her like 10 seconds earlier!

    I think you underestimated how important ekko would be in this theoretical storyline. Jinx, vi and ekko would basically found the Firelights together instead of just ekko, and since vi is definitely the leader in that dinamic, she would probably be the leader of the Firelights too.
    The show would be kind of an "resistance organisation" story, with those 3 as the main characters.

    One note, though I like this thought a lot. Powder not crying isn't that strange for a young child. It's hard for young children to process death as a concept that well. She would understand somethings wrong and it's scary, but it would take time before she'd probably internalize the idea that her parents are gone forever. But yeah, it's clear by her hysterical sobbing over being left behind that she's a few cards short of a deck.

    If Vi didn't leave Jinx, Silco would have killed them both. He's pissed, and knows Vi is at least partially responsible for everything that night going to shit. The ONLY reason he didn't kill Powder was because of her obvious vulnerability, and because she threw herself at him. If Vi was still there, that vulnerability isn't the same, meaning she isn't susceptible to his influence, meaning she's useless to him. At that point, Silco, with no emotional attachment to Powder, wouldn't feel anything by off-ing her.

    So in this scenario Vi didn't leave Jinx, but Jinx is still responsible for the deaths of their friends and their father figure. But only Vi would know, so it's not like everyone would hate her. However living with the guilt would still make her unstable and prone to acting out. This would turn people against her in a similar way to how Silko's minions hated Jinx, but now Vi is the one covering for her, leading to Vi gradually becoming ostracised. Ekko is still friends with them both at this point, but he can see that Jinx has problems and what it's doing to Vi. He tries to talk to Vi about it and she nearly blurts out the secret she's been keeping for all these years, but instead pushes him away. Later in a confrontation with Silko, Silko reveals what Jinx did - he didn't see her at the time, but since then he's heard of a young girl who is really good with explosives and he's figured it out. Ekko is shocked and goes to confront Jinx. They have a fight, but Ekko is able to make Jinx realise that her presence is screwing up her sister's life, like she screws up everything else. Jinx disappears. When Vi finds out, she's furious and cuts ties with Ekko. Vi is now totally isolated, so she decides that the best way to find - and protect - her sister is to join the enforcers, despite her hatred for them. Jinx has become a phantom, staging bombings at random. Nobody is safe. It's causing chaos and Ekko wants to stop her, and protect Vi who he sees as doomed if she keeps chasing Jinx. So he decides the best way to do this is by joining Silko, despite his hatred for him. Meanwhile Jinx has attracted a cult following, who name themselves the Firelights after the little bug-bombs Jinx used in an infamous attack, when she blew up a squad of enforcers being led by Marcus, nearly killing Vi who was Marcus' second in command. Jinx never asked for this, she actually kinda hates them, but they're there so she makes use of them. Thus we set up a 3 way conflict between Vi, Ekko and Jinx, none of whom are loyal to the sides they've chosen, all of whom think they are doing the right thing.

    I feel like having the characters inevitably ending up like their League version narrows down the room for exploring new ideas and themes with their arcs.
    I honestly don't have an issue with canon lore elements sprinkled in here and there, but from what I see so far, the Arcane versions make more sense, to me at least.

      the Arcane vs League confuses me sometimes bc:
      - the League lore still states that their parents are dead but then they grew up in an orphanage.
      - the League version did say that Vi and Powder worked in crimes to survive until one heist involving a mine explosion happened where Vi had second thoughts once she learned that the explosion endangers parents and children. Vi going against the heist now, she managed to save everyone else but suffered from amnesia once the cave collapsed on her which may be what separated the two instead of the Monkey Bomb Incident.
      - League Caitlyn is already a Sheriff before meeting Vi but believes in her anyways and helps her become an Enforcer as a fresh start since she can't remember much about her own life
      - the rest of Vi's League origin involves only memories of crimes and unpleasant childhood stuff coming back. tbh in this lore I don't even know if she remembers and is aware that Jinx is her sister. Bc of Vi's memory issues in this lore it just gives the possibility that Vi only sees her as a criminal and holds no attachment while Jinx remembers everything between them

    Huh, Silco talked a big game about revolution, but he never really did much outside of building his drug empire. It's actually jinx did anything revolutionary. Jinx becoming radicalized against piltover and or the Chem-Barons is just too likely. As for Vi same thing, though the sisters might do time in Bilgwater with Sara Fortune to get the skills for their own rebellion.

    And I think ekko and ezreal could have team up.

    Silko would have for 100% killed Vi first and likely Powder afterwards, who wouldn't have had cooperated or killed the murderer of her sis.

      If they'd survive tigether, my take would be that it's more likely that Vi could work with the enforcers to take down Silco.
      In the current story of Arcane I don't see how she could ever willingly end up as one, if not something hits her hard on the head into an amnesia, preferably in Caitlyns bedroom.
      Like, one doesn't usually take up the profession of their spuse, especially if people of the profession killed her family, got Benzo killed, beat her up in prison and keep their rather fascist stance during stuff at the bridge. All while corrupt af. ^^;

    Just imagine if Viktor is not intrigued with Jayce's Hextech theory...
    Jayce would have probably dead due to suicide, no hexgates, no hexcore, no Hextech, heimer will still be in council, councilors will not be blown up, Vi's Gauntlet will never be invented, Jinx'es gun "fishbone" will never be more powerful, Viktor's Hexclaw will never be invented, Jayce's Hammer will never be invented, Viktor will never be corrupted by the shimmer and hexcore, there might be a chance that Viktor would also be dead due to Tuberculosis, Sky would also not die in dust, Shipment of shimmer might be doubled, Piltover will still be the same or also be flooded with shimmer, Ambessa Medarda might not came to Piltover to weaponize Hextech, Ekko and Heimer might never meet, Jayce and Mel sex scene will never be scene, Caitlyn might also not meet Vi, and there's a lot more that would not happen

    The show would be way more boring and also less realistic/tragic if Vi hadn't lashed out at Powder. Remember, Vi just watched her entire family die brutally for the SECOND time, it's completely understandable that she's a wreck. Vi has an avoidant attachment style, she's the type who needs to be alone to clear her head, so she did the right thing by temporarily walking away from Powder after she realised that she'd hit her little sister, Vi neede to cool off. Powder, on the other hand, is the type who needs constant reassurance, so she interpreted Vi walking away as abandonment.

    Nice theory buuut.
    If that happened the gemstone would have not been stolen by Jinx.
