I hope he legit doesn’t think that talisman is the ending 🤣 Imagine him going to the ending and then realize “Oooh shit I needed to hit the wall behind the chest?” 😂
Based on lore, Merika made Hoarah abandon his warrior ways and become Godfrey when they married to appear more as a king. The lion is his animal guide (like Blaiid is for Ranni or Malekith is for Merika) that kept the warrior persona in check. Once he killed the lion it symbolized him returning to his true form.
If you want the “other” ending (coolest one in my opinion) begins where you just fought mohg again, hit the altar (Before you go through the doors at the bottom it DOES lock you into 1 ending and the others aren’t available after that (unless you use mikelas needle in Placidusaux’s boss room)
@marshrover V EXACTLY!!! It's by far and away the coolest if u didn't let her die cuz then it creates an open ended ending with her promising to kill u but with her dead it just feels like you're jerk that manipulated everything and it's not satisfying imo.
Godfrey is the name Hoarah Loux adopted when he became elden lord. He was always a rough and tough badlands guy, but as elden lord he was expected to have a noble persona, hence the change.
Afro, there's a secret area behind the altar in Mohg's boss room. Hit it, and you can access the other unlockable ending. ⚠️ THIS WILL LOCK YOU OUT OF OTHER ENDINGS (unless you use Millicent’s needle in the Placidusax arena)
This is the first time I would have liked to see him struggle more 😂 I was so jealous of the calmness of Godfrey. He stomped for 2 minutes straight when I fought him
Hey Afro, when you finally got to the end of the dungeon crawl and battled mohg again, you have to hit the wall behind the chest and that leads to the most obnoxious platforming level I’ve ever seen, but at the end of that is the secret ending you’ve been told about

Godfrey is a perfect leading to last boss. His fight constructively is fair, his attacks do high damage but are predictable, his pressure is manageable making the fight way more epic for the player, and the backstory of this man really makes you want to root for the guy. Appearance, move set, and abilities 10/10. Best boss I’ve I ever seen.
I really liked how his first phase lets you play defensively with high defence and blockable attacks and his second phase goes the all offence no defence route it’s a fun switch up
You actually see Horah Loux hanging in a tree impaled by several weapons in the beginning cutscene of the game. Just like all the other tarnished, he too died long ago but was brought back by the grace of the Erd tree or something. If you're wondering why he died and all the other god's didnt (besides godwyn), it's because once he slayed his last worthy foe, he lost he godliness and was exiled from the lands between. The lore can be found in his armor when you buy if from the finger maiden.
I’m looking forward to the final episode, but I would love if before you killed the elden beast you go a find as many smaller bosses to kill and fill your inventory and give more content in this amazing series
This is one of my favorite bosses in the entire soulsbourn series. The way he transition from being just another big guy with axe to a berserker like in Norse mythology is so cool I wanna make a build around using his stuff.
Hey afro, I recommend turning music on on the last boss fight because it just adds so much to the fight and I don't even know how to explain it but it's such a beautiful soundtrack it's just the cherry on top. also I've loved watching your Eldon Ring videos it's going to be a better sweet ending but it was fun gg afro gg
in case you were wondering, YES there's more you can do after Mohg for a secret ending but it LOCKS you in that specific ending unless you do something specific regarding Millicent questline that you already did to "cancel" it beforehand. So it's a different ending but not really a choice you can make at the very end, you have to decide beforehand what you gonna do
You were so close to the ending you were talking about, there’s also a bunch of lore behind the questions you’re asking, that lion that Godfrey has was to contain his fighting spirit or something when he became an elden lord, obviously becoming the warrior he was prior in his second phase
As far as his name change goes. Every lord has a "shadow" ex: Ranni had Blaidd. Or an animalistic spirit battle pet. But I think, in killing his lion he reverted back into what he was before he became a lord. Which was the grand warrior chieftain Hourah Loux. ... I think?
When he dies, the way he falls to his knees and says "They strength befits a crown" When I first defeated him, I thought he was taking the crown of his head and handing it to me. Best Boss fight in Elden Ring
Honestly, I love the story of this game, especially the optional subquests, but my favorite part of this game is dungeon crawling. Exploring, finding dungeons, & fighting mini bosses. I hope, if we get DLC, it adds more optional dungeons. Like, some areas like the hero's graves suck, but overall, I have way more fun dungeon crawling then following the main story.
He was so close to the Frenzied Flame when he killed the second Mohg. It confused me too but if he had hit the wall right behind the chest he got the talisman out of, he’d just have to jump or fall down to the bottom using the tombs on the wall and he’d have found it. I wonder what ending he’ll pick.
can’t believe this series is coming to an end. honestly have had more fun watching you play it than me playing it myself and i’ve beat it twice lol. keep up the good work and i can’t wait to watch the man himself become crowned as elden lord.
I know you probably won't see this Afro but I've only just recently caught on to your content and I just wanted to say that it has been helping me through some tough times these past couple weeks. So thank you Afro.
Yo Afro. I know this is late, but those Rainbow Stones items are pretty useful for navigating maze-like dungeons. Each time you drop one it marks the location with a different color so you can remember where you've been too. Very underrated.
Godfrey/ Horah Loux is probably my favorite boss to fight, it's a shame he has so little health and such long damage windows during his partial phase transitions.
We are so close to the end I am both excited and sad. What a series! Maybe Afro will surprise us and do another playthru sometime in the future! Or a challenge run -- or even a pvp tourney. But man what a wild ride this has been.
I know im late to this whole series but man i recently found your channel and its one of the most entertaining things ive experienced. Keep that shit up. Cram
Hora Lou is his original name. He was a great warrior before becoming the first Elden Lord but being a lord meant he had to quit fighting things so much so he took Serosh (the tiger) on his back to channel his warrior instincts into so he wouldn't be so bloodthirsty all the time. When he became Elden Lord he changed his name to Godfrey to reflect his new king>warrior attitude. One of my favorite bosses for badassery alone.
You can get out of it with Miquella's Needle tbf. I'd say Afro wouldn't realise that but he'd probably look up the endings before he chose one so he might.
Fair warning, the ending you were looking for is behind the chest (hit the altar), however that ending will lock you out of all others so if you want options, don't grab it.
To everyone who saying he has the needle, yes I know. However, if he was going to use the needle he would've had to burn the tree using what down there first then use the needle to cure. That and he said he wanted to see the ending it gave which means he can't use the needle if he wanted to see that ending. That's why I'm letting him know if he wants to see it, it'll lock him out of all others. The needle will get rid of the lockout yes, but also take away that ending. Otherwise if he uses the needle at this point, it will literally just be a cutscene and there's little point.
Did Afro completely miss the nameless eternal city area? Can't recall him ever going there in the series, the hidden path he missed in the sewers leads there as well as to the three fingers and frenzied flame.
Afro! In the room where you killed Mohg, behind the chest is a weird looking wall. Attack it and it will open. Then make your way down to the bottom of the hole. After that, take off your armor and approach the wall. I won’t spoil what happens next.
If you wanted to get the secret ending after the second Mogh fight, you need to hit the altar in the room to open the secret path to the very bottom. Spoiler: there's gonna be some tight platforming to be done in that area, lol.
If you wanted the other ending you have to hit the altar behind the chest where you fought Mohg. It leads to a different area. If you want the ending though when you make it to the end you gotta take all your armor and weapons off to interact with what's there. I hope you like platforming 🙃
@@mixtract oof, what many people going into that area didnt realize was it was actually another secret boss. Probably the toughest boss in the game. Gravity
Afro if you hit the wall behind the chest where you fought Mohg there is a hidden wall that unlocks the frenzied flame ending, but once you do that it’s the only ending you can get so beware
To simplify the name change between Godfrey and Hoarah Loux, Hoarah Loux was chosen by Marika to be her consort and the first lord because of his strength but he was really battle crazy and was given something to chill that out and to behave more like a lord (the spirit lion Serosh). Along with the lion and more lord like behavior he took the name Godfrey to represent that change. During the fight you beat him to the point where said "Fuck that back to the old me" killed his limiter (Serosh) and went back to his old name
So basically for some background information, Marika (whom I assume you know enough about) wanted to basically bring order to the world and make it under her control. To do this she needed to destroy 3 different factions that posed a threat to her order. To do this she basically appointed Hoarah Loux (Godfrey) and his warriors to defeat said factions. After doing this Marika rewarded Hoarah Loux by making him the first elden lord. However, as the first elden lord he had to change his true nature as a warrior to something that was more… diplomatic. Hence why his name was changed to Godfrey.
Afro ya can't be calling bosses easy when you spam weapon arts and use bleed! I love you but cmon now! AND PLS DON'T PUT MUSIC OVER ELDEN RING BOSSES AAAAA
When he says "tarnished warrior, spurned by the grace of gold", he's not talking about you. He's talking to Morgott. Also Godfrey's golden shade boss fight also includes the Elden Lord title at the bottom of the screen so I don't know how you didn't know he was the first Elden Lord. BTW you're egregiously overleveled.
If you recall from the intro of the game Hoarah Loux was the chieftain of the badlands and one of the tarnished rising up try to become Elden Lord (for the 2nd time for him) along with Fia, Gideon, Goldmask and Dung Eater. Hoarah Loux is the name Godfrey took when he lost his grace and was banished along with the other tarnished by Marika to the badlands presumably. Serosh the Lion made an agreement with him to hold back his true strength and lust for battle until he needed it. When he killed him his true power was unleashed.
I will say out of all your weapons, these dual wielding swords are my favorites. It gives me Roxas vibes from KH; sad to see this series end but it was a fun ride. Can't wait to see how it will end
In case you wonder why sometimes your roll doesnt work, it's cause you were suppose to jump those stomp attacks. Rolls will get caught if you are too close
i like how godfrey has 3 phases you think its just like his spirit then he hits with a stomp that challanges you to jump instead of dodge, then a phase where he rushes at you giving you little room to breath with pretty much all grab attacks its very well done
It’s a bit late I know, but if you’ve died and you’re worried about losing your souls on the trek back, just throw on a sacrificial twig and even if you die again your souls will remain to go collect
Okay 2 things. In Mogh, the Omen boss room, the altar behind the chest is fake. Roll into it and a secret path will open up. Head further down. (WARNING: IF YOU ACCESS THAT ENDING YOU CAN NOT CHOOSE A DIFFERENT ENDING UNLESS YOU USE A SPECIAL ITEM AT A SPECIFIC SPOT (spoiler: ((that ending causes you to destroy the world)). Number 2: the lore behind Godfrey/Horah Loux. Horah loux is his original name and he was a mad and badass warrior, he was chosen by Queen Marikia to be her husband and was given the lion Sherosh to keep his skill tame. Thus got his name changed to Godfrey and was the first Elden lord.
So one of the cooler things about the intro to Godfrey's fight is this... after he greets his last living son, Morgott, who then dies in his arms... his own Guidance of Grace points to YOU.

I hope he legit doesn’t think that talisman is the ending 🤣
Imagine him going to the ending and then realize “Oooh shit I needed to hit the wall behind the chest?”
😂
Him repeatedly calling Serosh a "tiger" triggered me more than it should. My guy is unironically one step away from calling a turtle a dog.
Is this Dog?
11:43 he literally called him Lion and tiger in the same sentence lmao
Fr I remember him calling maliketh a tiger lol
What is his pet? A lion?
@@vsolou Yep, Lion stuck on his back to keep him from going beast mode.
Serosh was the Lord of beast, or also called the beast regent? Not a shadow of an emperyean
If you want the “other” ending (coolest one in my opinion) begins where you just fought mohg again, hit the altar (Before you go through the doors at the bottom it DOES lock you into 1 ending and the others aren’t available after that (unless you use mikelas needle in Placidusaux’s boss room)
the ending isn't as cool anymore because he already let melina sacrifice herself
@marshrover V EXACTLY!!! It's by far and away the coolest if u didn't let her die cuz then it creates an open ended ending with her promising to kill u but with her dead it just feels like you're jerk that manipulated everything and it's not satisfying imo.
Thats why I think im going to use fias ending for my first run

and also he has to take his whole armour and equipment off to interact with the door in the end
Godfrey is the name Hoarah Loux adopted when he became elden lord. He was always a rough and tough badlands guy, but as elden lord he was expected to have a noble persona, hence the change.

Hey Afro, when you finally got to the end of the dungeon crawl and battled mohg again, you have to hit the wall behind the chest and that leads to the most obnoxious platforming level I’ve ever seen, but at the end of that is the secret ending you’ve been told about
I heard its not that bad on pc but i raged so hard about that jumping part when i tried to get down there with console/controller input D:
@@raphusgirafus9021 it’s the exact same thing, I use controller on pc
@@solarft afterwards i found out that u can jump hold O/B on controller while in the air and then ur character doesn't need to run a few feet to be able to jump over longer distances but instantly does the sprint jump when giving directional input + pressing x/A.. but u need to hold O/B while doing so
This is why i love this game. The rush of defeating a hard boss over and over. Heart pumping and since of achievemnet. Nice work sir!
If you love ER because of that, then go play Dark Souls 1-3, and Bloodborne, they do a much better job at giving that feeling.
0:23 "This looks fire bro" You don't say...
I just like the move where he throws you into the air then slams you into the ground, shit is so awesome. Man elden ring is goty.
I really liked how his first phase lets you play defensively with high defence and blockable attacks and his second phase goes the all offence no defence route it’s a fun switch up
the only thing I don't like about him is that he can spamm his stomp attack way to much hahaha
So apparently godfrey was first elden lord but he was then banished and let to die and so he become the first tarnished knows as his second phase

The best Elden Ring playthrough yet! Heck yeah Afro man you killing it
in case you were wondering, YES there's more you can do after Mohg for a secret ending but it LOCKS you in that specific ending unless you do something specific regarding Millicent questline that you already did to "cancel" it beforehand. So it's a different ending but not really a choice you can make at the very end, you have to decide beforehand what you gonna do
also, the ending is less cool rn because melina's already sacrificed herself
You were so close to the ending you were talking about, there’s also a bunch of lore behind the questions you’re asking, that lion that Godfrey has was to contain his fighting spirit or something when he became an elden lord, obviously becoming the warrior he was prior in his second phase
As far as his name change goes. Every lord has a "shadow" ex: Ranni had Blaidd. Or an animalistic spirit battle pet. But I think, in killing his lion he reverted back into what he was before he became a lord. Which was the grand warrior chieftain Hourah Loux. ... I think?
Godfrey is easily my favorite boss. Mechanics, drip, lore, all of it.
Hey, Afro if you don’t know, there’s an invisible wall behind the chest you have to hit, it opens up the area to that different game ending

This elden ring arc with afro is almost as goated as the persona 5 arc. Character development is bananas
And as our hero walked into the great unknown never to be see again, historians tell us his final words were.."Oh my Gosh that's loud..."
Lmao
I know im late to this whole series but man i recently found your channel and its one of the most entertaining things ive experienced. Keep that shit up. Cram
Hora Lou is his original name. He was a great warrior before becoming the first Elden Lord but being a lord meant he had to quit fighting things so much so he took Serosh (the tiger) on his back to channel his warrior instincts into so he wouldn't be so bloodthirsty all the time. When he became Elden Lord he changed his name to Godfrey to reflect his new king>warrior attitude. One of my favorite bosses for badassery alone.
I’ve recently discovered your content and im already in love with your channel. Consistent quality posts. Keep up the good work man👍
these bots man
Afro you missed a hidden wall that was right after the chest in Mohg the omens boss room, access it to get to the hidden ending
I’m so glad he didn’t find the “ending” he was looking for - It locks you out of every other ending, and it’s the evil ending!! Finish with Ranni😁
You can get out of it with Miquella's Needle tbf. I'd say Afro wouldn't realise that but he'd probably look up the endings before he chose one so he might.
ranni is the true evil ending
When that Nier: Automata kicked in I started tearing up. The OST for Nier actually goes so beautifully with Elden Ring.

I love the guy who voices him one of the best syfy voices...he's a legend! You f him up afro!
The series is coming to an end, but it was a fun journey all the way through
Fair warning, the ending you were looking for is behind the chest (hit the altar), however that ending will lock you out of all others so if you want options, don't grab it.
use the needle
and FYI even if he gets locked into that ending, he already has the Miquella's needle so he can reverse its effect whenever he wants.
He has the needle you know.
No, he didn't. I remember going there in the Dragonscale blade video or the few videos before it.
Behind the Chest in the Mohg arena is a secret door for the ending
Spoiler: there's gonna be some tight platforming to be done in that area, lol.
it locks out rannis ending lol
If you wanted the other ending you have to hit the altar behind the chest where you fought Mohg. It leads to a different area. If you want the ending though when you make it to the end you gotta take all your armor and weapons off to interact with what's there. I hope you like platforming 🙃
That platforming gonna take a whole episode 💀
@@mixtract oof, what many people going into that area didnt realize was it was actually another secret boss. Probably the toughest boss in the game.

Afro if you hit the wall behind the chest where you fought Mohg there is a hidden wall that unlocks the frenzied flame ending, but once you do that it’s the only ending you can get so beware
Serosh was on Godfrey's back to quell his bloodlust, ridding himself of Serosh allowed his true warrior self to come out
To simplify the name change between Godfrey and Hoarah Loux, Hoarah Loux was chosen by Marika to be her consort and the first lord because of his strength but he was really battle crazy and was given something to chill that out and to behave more like a lord (the spirit lion Serosh). Along with the lion and more lord like behavior he took the name Godfrey to represent that change. During the fight you beat him to the point where said "Fuck that back to the old me" killed his limiter (Serosh) and went back to his old name
Are we not about to talk about how this man lost 164000 souls
So basically for some background information, Marika (whom I assume you know enough about) wanted to basically bring order to the world and make it under her control. To do this she needed to destroy 3 different factions that posed a threat to her order. To do this she basically appointed Hoarah Loux (Godfrey) and his warriors to defeat said factions. After doing this Marika rewarded Hoarah Loux by making him the first elden lord. However, as the first elden lord he had to change his true nature as a warrior to something that was more… diplomatic. Hence why his name was changed to Godfrey.
Does anyone know the custom song Afro decided to play for Godfrey’s second phase at 12:38?
A version of "song of the ancients"
you can see a little rainbow formed from the grace between you and Godfrey in his play through you’re the final boss
As much as I love Afros music. Man Godfrey’s ost is too good to leave out.
Afro ya can't be calling bosses easy when you spam weapon arts and use bleed!

BTW you're egregiously overleveled.
morgott wasnt a tarnished since he never left.
He's really not, he's just using one of the best weapons in general

If you recall from the intro of the game Hoarah Loux was the chieftain of the badlands and one of the tarnished rising up try to become Elden Lord (for the 2nd time for him) along with Fia, Gideon, Goldmask and Dung Eater. Hoarah Loux is the name Godfrey took when he lost his grace and was banished along with the other tarnished by Marika to the badlands presumably. Serosh the Lion made an agreement with him to hold back his true strength and lust for battle until he needed it. When he killed him his true power was unleashed.

I love this boss, just the fact he power bombs you as a move made me laugh my ass off the first time I died to it
"Everything looked the same before, now it looks all the same but on fire."
My man really thought the talisman was the secret ending😑
So one of the cooler things about the intro to Godfrey's fight is this... after he greets his last living son, Morgott, who then dies in his arms... his own Guidance of Grace points to YOU.
i love how you fighting godfrey while playing a jojo music i love that
