I know he was living in front of the synagogue in Aldi street. but 1st of all your family is not Egyptian. But Iraqis origin. and you as American Jewish are welcomed in Egypt any time. our problem is with the people who stool our brothers land. not with Jewish as a religion but with Zionist who want to take a land who they don't own it from the original people who lives on it for thousands years. Do you know that Israelis people visit Egypt completely safe since 1979 after peace agreements . so don't hesitate and come to see your family roots .
He did not inhert because of the inheritance laws in Egypt period not because he is jewish in particular. Mounir Mourad on paper died a muslim, and therefore, inheritance laws were followed, would have been the same had the surviving family been christian or any other faith. Another point, if i am not wrong, Mounir Mourad converted to Islam when he married the legendary egyptian comedian Sohier Elbably in the mid 50s, a marriage thar lasted till 1967 and you can read Sohier's accounts on that mareiage for context. That being said. This doesnt mean i agree that Mr Mourad's biological linage is deprived of even the intellectual rights to his music and work, art is a purely secular matter that needs someone to think of out of religious inhertance laws. I wanted to address that forst poi t because the way the bubbly host presented, intentionally showcased it as begining just because of being jewish, which in the bigger picture of this propaganda driven channel, only helps distort the picture and provide justication to injustices the State of Israel's government is committing.
