I knew someone who's brother in law's friends wife is a ceo and got them 2 tickets 5th row platinums, and it was the first game they watched all year and on phones the whole time. The most hilarious thing is, the Bruins' PP was atrocious down the stretch, like the Leafs right now. The fact it's white hot right now is baffling to Bruins fans too.
That probably has something to do with the competition.
It’s not particularly baffling. Biggest reason is that the Leafs’ PK unit stinks. In the last dozen regular season games, the Bruins faced Florida twice and Carolina twice; both opponents have strong PK units. I don’t think the B’s are doing anything significantly different now, versus Toronto on the PP, compared to what the B’s were trying to do on the PP vs. Carolina and Florida. The big difference is the weak Leafs’ PK.

Leafs: It's a 60 minute game.
That frederic shot was perfect, sammy probably saves that shot but it was post and in, marchies shot was a beauty, he had that same exact shot on debbrusks rebound goal. Marchie had a great game.
Rewatched the Frederic goal, and to me it seemed like Samsonov reacted a touch late to the shot. With the shot being so well placed, above the leg pad, below the blocker and on the post, looked like he didn’t get his blocker on it in time. It almost seemed like Samsonov was anticipating Frederic was going to circle the net with the puck versus put a shot on net.

Very sad, but obviously you've closed the case on the Maple Leafs, you once and for all identified the reason the Leafs don't score: It's been their first playoffs-capable goalie (of the Matthews era) all along. Apparently Samsonov doesn't score enough goals on the PP. And you've figured it out. He's the evil, he's the problem. You solved the case eternally. - Great job!

I wonder if they should have just went with 11/7. Put TJ Brodie in and take Holmberg/Robertson out. They were using Jarnkrok a lot for the faceoffs for that line anyways and then you can double shift Marner/Matthews, which I think Keefe was doing already 🤔

Nick Kypreos just keeps making excuses for the Leafs no matter what. And it doesn't matter if it's the atmosphere in the arena, players, couching staff or management, Nick always finds some lame excuse. Nick, for God`s sake, you are journalist - not the Toronto Maple Leafs PR guy! You're not doing them any favour by not criticizing them!
By the way, the Scotiabank Arena is by far the quietest NHL building in Canada and yesterday was no exception. The reason is, that there is a very few real fans in the building. Overwhelming majority of them watch the game in the TV, because they can't afford to buy the tickets - plain and simple! Most of my friends have never seen the Leafs playing on Toronto, but a lot of them have seen them playing in Buffalo or in Ottawa, where by the way, the Leafs get a much bigger support from those few thousands Leafs fans there than they get in Scotiabank Arena in Toronto during their home games.
I mean, Boston did not show up to play in Game 2, and Ullmark was good in Game 2 and did some huge saves. So honestly, I don’t mind Ullmark in net, think they would have won Game 2 if Boston actually showed up that game

This is such a quintessential Leafs broadcast. “The first period validated the Maple Leafs as a team that can win” after losing that game.
Also, the irony of referencing Marchand’s comments about “a bigger, stronger Toronto team”, not realizing that Marchand was probably trolling and baiting donkeys (like Kyper) into thinking he [Marchand] actually believes that about Toronto.
That Sammy goal was a backbreaker. Samsonov is a wildcard, you just don't know what your going to get from game to game. Start Woll imo.

Its obvious the reason why the lower seats are not as noisy is its not real fans its the fans with the most money.

The refs blew and cost the Leafs the game. Just be honest. It is, really, that simple. They call it like they should have and there is no way that game ended up a loss for the Leafs - in spite of the Leafs' d being absolutely $hite(is even one solid outlet pass, just fkn one, too much to ask?).

Specifically, in game 3, when Marchand scored before the arena announcer could call the Bertuzzi goal, it was crickets. Good on Marchand for the dagger but as fans, you can't be defeated that easily or it bleeds down into our bench.

Kypreos is the only one who hints at the fact that perhaps the Leafs just aren't that good. JB acts like they are the dream team, and it's just bad luck, or bad coaching, or the refs that are to blame.
Mitch Marners skates do not come within 10 feet of the crease. Tavares is talented, but where is the passion? The defense is below average. The goaltending is way below average. Just stop already
Even though we lost the game, I have to say for the first time in years I really feel like we need to keep this core group together. We got something going here.
You let marner walk, or trade him, not sure where his contract is at, nylander replaces him in the lineup, since he hasnt played yet, its like a replacement. You use the marner money for a top 4 dman and another depth forward who can score, and actually show up in the postseason. Non leaf fan, who would of gutted the core after the montreal series.
What have you got going? Lack of depth, average defence and average goaltending? Good luck winning the cup with that template.

lower/platinum levels are about status...a first class on the titanic if you will, all about saying you have those tickets, showin up in your dress clothes and networking during games. seriously go try and be a fan down there, yell and chear and the corporate and marketing comped ticket holders will not just look at you funny, but actually make a deal of it and get security involved. and no im not talking about the exceptions IE profanities and slurs, oh no just team support chants. its a joke...ive personally seen this in both my experiences at leafs games. actually quite disturbing, theyre like snobby robots taking up the arena. watch when the intermissions are over and you see how non chalantely they are returning to their seats and compare around the league. yes youll see some people moving but for toronto, sections are empty minutes into gameplay.

What's a "real fan" ? The goal by Frederic took all the air out of the building. When you watch Swayman stop everything and how hard the Leafs worked to score then Samsonov allows that go in the fans are floored.
