Slayer sounded OLD after this set. Much as they rule, there was such a fresh and exciting vibe coming from Machine Head that day and it was a really mind blowing set.
I remember recording this on my parents sky box back in the day when I use to watch Kerrang and Scuzz TV. Aged 16, this was the best performance I had ever seen. I rewatched this a hundred times and it never got ‘old’. Amazing.
I was in the pits for this and slayer back to back. First live gig me and my mate had gone to 😂 We still have a laugh about how fucking brutal and awesome this weekend was.
Well...it is difficult to follow Machine Head...that day was fricking awesome: Turisas, Bloodsimple, Machine Head, Slayer...even Bowling for Soup kicked ass and Linkin Park were pretty good too (reminded me of back when I was 16)

@Grimeyhoob I wouldn't do it myself but I'm not going to deny it was fun to see. They shouldn't have been there man, not at all. Download is for rock, metal and punk. Not for new age trashy bands who capitalise on how sensitive and lame the ego generation of kids are supposed to be. That's pretty much why MCR are famous, that and the fact the -look- like a band. That's not to say they were the only ones who shouldn't have been there... They shouldn't have headlined though it drew attention.
To be fair your right.... why not check out Korn on the second stage................... HAHAHAHAA dude because they shouldn't have been on the "second stage" ........Plus it was funny as foooooooooooock to see them bottled with piss. i laughed so hard i pissed 'into a bottle' dude they came they saw... they got pissed on..................

Instead of booing them, why didnt you go check out Korn on the second stage? Why do you feel the need to impose your music tastes on everyone else who might enjoy MCR. I hate MCRs music, but I def dont find it cool to go out there and bottle them and fuck it up for those who paid to come see them at download. Its disrespectful and immature. its not metal
