The Japanese anglers have added so much to our sport. Imagine driving around a foreign country and fishing competitively on waters that are nothing like you are used too. They got some great stories to tell the grandchildren some day.

Crazy how the rest of the field is catching fish on crazy realistic looking minnow baits and taku is out there slinging around a cube of plastic and whooping ass. Straight up gangster

I grew up in Japan and used to import Bassmaster Magazines reading all the new techniques and such, buying a bunch of American lures in the mid 80s. That's when Japan started to create their own baits, and the founder of Nories, Norio Tanabe, the first ever B.A.S.S. tournament winner as a foreigner, played a big part of it. The legacy goes on. Taku is Nori's disciple and fishing together all the time.
I remember back in the 80s when the Japanese economy was good, some of B.A.S.S. anglers came to Japan for promotion; Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon, Guido Hibdon, Ricky Green, Jack Chancellor, Roland Marten,,, to name a few. So, yes, B.A.S.S. had a huge impact on Japanese anglers and you live in their memories big time. Big respect from Tokyo.

Takumi uses a special shallow water technique using a flip cogill. He calls his technique Bau-Bau.

      O shut up.
Why don't you wade in barefoot with a willow branch you whittled down with a piece of slate ? Hollow out a log with fire and a stone tomahawk and use as a canoe ? How bought deer sinew for string and a bone sharpened on a piece of slate for a hook ?
So ridiculous, flasher depth has been around 50+ years, paper graphs nearly as long. The price will come down in time just like 50 inch TVs.

No more screens then no more sight fishing for spawning Bass in 2 ft of water 🤷‍♂️
There was a big tournament in the South earlier this year that made it no FFS.
Then they showed the eventual winner standing on the tip of his bow and casting to spawning Bass he could see in 2 ft water 😂
      What’s worse? 🤡
