Had the same issue. Took it in and they said it was a heater servo.
I got it back however and it did blow heat, no problem. However it came back with a faulty vent control arm and because of that, I get a loud intermittent cracking sound when I start it up and if I press "auto", then the temperature goes right down to zero degrees.
Thanks for comment. Mine also makes a noise like servo is moving more than it should but stops eventually and heater works just take awhile to warm up.
I have a cl500 and it has the exact same problem and I do the exact same thing you do to keep it warm and worm it up. did you ever find the solution or the problem?
It gets really hot after driving for about 20 minutes and the heater works great. I think it's a plugged heater core.
@@coriesn yes I understand i have the same issue. I'm going to compare the temperature of the heater core hoses tomorrow to see if they are both hot if they aren't it should be a clogged heater core.
Ok sounds good there maybe a valve not opening completely that's my issue on a Nissan truck I own. I just manually turn it by season.

You clearly have issues on your HVAC system.
Having the recirculation constantly on is not a good thing, especially because it promotes condensation inside the cabin.
Moreover, the air qaulity will degrade over time.
