I received the book a couple of days ago. It helps me document my kit bashing, scratch building, using 3D printed parts, and the paints (often blended colors) I use. Really like the book and it will be good to keep track of my builds. THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS BOOK TOGETHER!
Thank you so much for grabbing the book! 💪🏾💯🔥😀 This book was created for us, and I really hope you enjoy your journey with documenting your builds 🔥💯🙌🏾
Your ledger keeps excellent track of what is going on for each build! Your builds ALWAYS look good! My biggest fear is when I leave this plane that my work is cast aside!
Good idea. I noticed from build #1 to build #10 you took more time building it. I think that helps too. But I’m a slow builder anyway. I don’t know how some guys/gals build multiple models at once! I’m looking forward to how you do your F-100. From one Vet to another, thank you for your service Brother. Peace and love.
Thank you so much! I do much better when I slow down the builds. I have to keep a few builds going at one time for the channel, so I can slow down and not get rushed.
I like to list my colors used in the Build List. After a couple of months I couldn’t tell you what color I used on a model lol but if I want to use that same color again on another model, I can check my master plan.
What you are talking about is called "Bench marking" - Where you do something, like build your Olds, and then, on the next build, improve it ... constantly setting the bench mark and then surpassing it.
Thank you for your comments and really supporting the channel. It really means a lot. I just subscribed to you. You're in the right ball park, but let me assist you a little lol. Don't forget Bro has a M.B.A. over here. The definition of benchmarking is the practice of comparing business processes and performance metrics to industry bests and best practices from other companies. In other words: if I was going to start a smart phone company, I'm going to examine a company like Apple and the iPhone, to copy what they are doing right and capitalize on what they are doing wrong with the iPhone. I benchmark all the time when I write and publish books. When I have a book idea, I go to Amazon and examine the bestselling books in the genre I'm publishing. I utilize what that book did right with marketing, cover design, and format. I never copy the words or themes. That would plagiarism lol. I also observe what the bestseller did wrong and try to make my project better. What you are describing when I'm comparing builds is called a comparative analysis. A comparative analysis is a systematic method for comparing two or more things to identify their similarities and differences. The purpose of this is to capitalize off the comparative results and create a better product, system, or process in the future. Man you brought out the nerd in me LMAO! Again, thank you for your great feedback.
@@oneteamgarage I ran a hobby store business for 20 years and I am currently working in a grocery store because I ran my business without a business plan. (I still have an online store, but the sales there are slow.) - I'm also 50 and my mind for all of these terminologies is fading....but yes, you are right. Benchmark vs Comparative Analysis. I'm really getting sloppy in my old age. Anyway, I have been building models for 42 years, running these UA-cam channels for 14+ years and I have been trying to get views and subs over all those years. I recently found a university level book on how to write a business plan and I have read it and going through what I need to write a solid business plan for when I want to reopen my hobby store again. Hopefully I can get it done.
That is a good book you came up with. And nice builds too. One thing I would put in my book is a list of the paints and colors I used through the build. That is so that in the future, if you damage the model and need to touch it up with some color, you know what color you used and what paint manufacturer made it. - and if you did your own custom paint mix, to write down what that combination is so that you can repair it with a perfect color match. Hope you can check out my builds sometime.
@@oneteamgarage Thank you. I just released my first video in a series about building model kits for model car contests. So far, the video seems to be a dud. I released it on 3 of my 6 UA-cam channels. The response is below what my usual videos are. Well...we can't win them all.
I have the book, but I’ll admit that sometimes I get so wrapped up in the build I forget to write things down and then can’t remember things. I’m getting better though.
