This is a brilliant video that I really enjoyed. I can’t fault it at all. Absolutely brilliant and a guaranteed 5 out of 5. Despite that, as it’s an upgrade on an older version so I have to give it a 3.
This channel is CRIMINALLY under-followed! Have literally spammed your content the last few days since discovering you! Superb!!! 👏🏻 The Dizzy deaths vid was hilarious!!!
Bloody hell four hours! .. season 3 must be where things got really bad 😂 can't wait to get stuck into this .. recently lost my job so need something to cheer me up and this is just the ticket
I think about this fact every time I see people on the internet losing their minds because a new AAA game costs $70 or whatever... modern gaming is certainly not without its problems, but at least the games are cheap 😂
Sir... many thanks for your time and effort into these shows.. I've listed to the first two about 10 times each lol the joys of a 54 year old guy who remembers this show like yesterday lol
The Lan Jam section was honestly inspired and just what I needed. I was beginning to get a bit privileged and bemoaning the fact that series 1 and 2 had more opportunities for your scathing but then Lan Jam put it into context/made me feel sick. Back into the warm arms of Bad Influence.
Love these videos, funny and nostalgic at the same time, I vaguely remember most episodes, strange we don’t have video game shows now with how popular games are, anyway the 90’s was a special time, keep up the good work.
@@RoseTintedSpectrum Episode one is waaaaaay more tolerable than Rise of the robots though. At least there’s duel of the fates. Also, there’s a scruffy flying Toydarian who the Jedi can’t blag. That must give it some credence over the janky shitfest that was ROTR?
Had that Bruce Lee game on SNES, it's down there with Rise of the Robots, but for different reasons. It has AI so unfair that it would make a King of Fighters boss blush, along with most fights being 2 on 1.
My main memory of Magic Carpet was when the Kennedy's got a PC in Neighbours, and Magic Carpet was literally the only game they played on it for about 4 years. Maybe it was a product placement or something. Umm ... not that I ever watched Neighbours ...
As long as you only "Surf" it as we did back in the 90s 🎉 I honestly think 'Information Super Highway' and similar phrases aided adoption of the net. It was a genius phrase that explained to non technically minded people what it was.
What an amazing time for gaming. Saturn, Playstation, N64 on the horizon and 32x, MegaCD, Jaguar, 3DO, Amiga, ST, PC, Megadrive, SNES, Lynx, Gamegear, and Gameboy available. Will never be a time like that again.
"youve only got four direction buttons" how many direction buttons was she expecting? 😂 Did Killer Instinct arcade and Gold have ring outs? 😮 I hadnt seen any of series 3 so this was great ❤
Eight? I always hated the PSX pad with its four individual buttons for directions as it made quarter-circle motions impossible for me. I could kick everyone's arse at any Street Fighter game *except* if we played on PlayStation.
Started watching since, seeing you on This Week In Retro. Hilarious stuff. (Yes the 3DO had some alright games, if you chuck enough shit there are about 10 good games)
Was that really the first time music from a game was released on CD? I thought we already reviewed Donkey Kong Country? Perhaps not. Im sure other games had their soundtrack released?
2:14:50 - Holy shit, i know it's obvious but the amount of things this segment predicts in the most charming slightly wrong way is incredible. Wikipedia, Netflix, Just Eat, Amazon, Teams/Skype, PSN, Peloton - all mentioned.
As someone who has actually played club drive i can honestly say no The san francisco level was interesting, but on hindsight was done better in Vette 😂
Geeze there's 4 hours i won't get back. Did they think they were Tomorrow's World in this series. So many off game topics and VR. You done good though buddy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🤘✌
3:51:34 Now this I can vividly remember watching for the first time as a little kid, and even tho back then I took everything at face value and wasn’t full of cynicism like I am now, my feet curled up as tight as Bruce Lee’s fists with secondhand embarrassment. But after seeing that Lan Jam abomination? Andy and Berlin are tops in my books. At least they gave a shit, and in the end that’s all you can ask of people innit?
2:58:55 Warning! DO NOT stare at the magic eye picture to try and reveal the hidden image. Andy Crane sudden pops into frame and will undoubtedly scare the shit out of you, as he did me.
The Lan Jam set looks like Del Boy and Rodney decorated it with Triggers illumious paint. Might explain why the camera men are all over the shop from being blinded.
The problem is requiring a tier system. So if we start at Super Console, what comes next? Mega Console? The Bodacious Era? The Max Daddy Big Boy Systems? We need to plan ahead if we're to install this new methodology.
Micro Machines 2 had 54 tracks????!!!!!??? I wish Violet was the real person in Sega All Stars Racing instead of that Nascar woman. All the virtual reality and Rise of the Robots stuff that BI backed huge - were they part of why the series ended? They were buried with angry letters that virtual reality never launched, let alone dominated the market as promised? This show made me question if there was a battle of virtual reality more intense than any console war 😂 I really want to play Socket. Dynamo Duck with a new title screen or Sonic with a new character? I liked Z. He was like a British persons politeness and well spokenness in a black American from New York. I really want to know what happened to him afterwards now. ❤
These vids just get better and better! The binge continues :D However, I did watch the past two vids so I have to dock points for unoriginality under the new old scoring system. Thus, a disappointing 5 stars out of 5.
You’re right 1994 was the best year associated with the Internet. It’s been all downhill since there as it expanded and all the great ideas disappeared into a cloud of making money. I was only 9, saw the internet for the first time in ‘94 and was blown away even though I didn’t really know what it was yet. 95, 96, 97 everything was progressing but the ideas were becoming GeoCities sites. 2000-03 were about messaging, then Social Media appeared.. it all went horrendously wrong. Let’s re-do 1994.. PCs with Doom, early webcams, PlayStation, Blur, early Green Day, Amiga and Atari systems still relevant, Windows not connected to the web and controlling the world, Forrest Gump, The Crow, Ernest goes to School.. I’m sure there’s so much more. We peaked.. it’s all been going downhill since then.

I really didn't like this rebrand. There was always a nice distinction between Bad Influence (intended for a younger audience) and GamesMaster (for the older kids... at first), but this always felt like they were trying to emulate the look, without delivering what made GM so good.
I hadn’t even gotten to the “this is just gay” bit when I made the comment on the ‘90s being gay! How gay is that?! Plus, this series sucks. No jean shorts.

This deserves at least 1000 times more "likes" than it currently has. Screw UA-cam's algorithms.
It's an issue for the whole channel. 😭 Just keep recommending RTS everywhere you go and every time you comment on another games channel ❤

Still can't believe the cost of games back then. With inflation, they're probably closer to £150 now.
