Trimmed Can Height - Why Quality Matters

  • Trimmed Can Height is measured at the end of the Front End of the can line. After a can goes to quality, the can height is measured around the perimeter a number of times. The can height is important for various reasons, including:
    1) Avoiding narrow flanges (which cause issues at the filler)
    2) Avoiding wide flanges (which cause issues at the filler)
    3) Necker jams can occur with cans that are extremely tall or short.
