It's best to install the EGT before the turbo, but certain times you cannot. If you do install it after the turbo just make sure you know it will be running a little lighter on the temperature readings. We are currently in the process of updating our installation videos so stay tuned!
You are 100% correct that a rag should have been used during tapping as well, but it creates a minute amount of shavings compared to drilling. We will be releasing updated installation videos soon so stay tuned!
@uberbadnoob6699666 The through dial lighting of the gauges are always on, we did this so it is always easy to see the gauge readings. If you need anything else just ask!
@uberbadnoob6699666 Unfortunately they are not included with our gauge packages, because they are not required to complete the installation. We recommend using them because they make the install a lot easier. We greatly appreciate your purchase, and if you have any other questions or concerns do not hesitate to ask. Have a great day!
@glowshiftgauges The proper spot would be before the turbo, in the exhaust/turbo manifold. Otherwise the temperature is a effected based on the turbo temperature. Therefore your egt would really be a turbo temperature gauge, not an accurate reading on the engine temperatures, which after all should be your real concern. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, feel free to msg me. I love your guys stuff.
@uberbadnoob6699666 If your gauge is not remembering the color, the yellow wire is not properly connected to a constant 12v source. I would check that yellow wire. If that does not fix your issue please contact our technical support department.
@Catamountfootball99 @Catamountfootball99 Ok, I am very sorry that you are having an issue and I will certainly get this taken care of for you. If you could please just send your contact information to jason @ glowshiftgauges . com and the best way and time to contact you. I will have my Technical Specialist Justin contact you and he will make sure you gauge is 100%. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to ask.
i have all the guages on my 97 powerstroke and my tranmission temp guage had a broke wire on the harness so i replaced it and there is a orange wire and in the instalation guide it doesnt say anything about a orange one and it says ER when i turn it on. What should i do?
+MrAnsweres Thank you for the interest in our product! Unfortunately, the Super Duty gauge pods will not fit the E-Series. We do not sell a gauge pod specifically designed for your vehicle, unfortunately.
Why do you install the egt probe after the turbo. It is WAYYYYY more accurate if installed on the manifolds. Its a bigger hassle but well worth the extra work

not gonna lie, i never realized how easy it was to install temp guages. video helpedalot thank you
Jake Lindy Glad we can help out!
unless i remember the sequence wrong, u may want to tap the hole in the intake and then vacuum it out. Cutting threads creates shavings too.
Lucky Red I no longer have my 7.3 now I gotta 6.0 with all the guages I could ever need in it haha
I think you should be vacuuming inside after you tapped it
@8300JohnDeere
We are in the process of filming new videos, so stay tuned! The install for the 6.0 is very similar to the 7.3 install.
Why removed the rag before tapping the hole, tapping creates metal filings as well?
@clovakid
I am going to check with my technical support department, and will have a response for you shortly.

I'm confused about egt location. After or before turbo? If you have an updated video please share the link
David Molina After turbo; normally I put it before the turbo, but whatever works

What is the size of the sensor that screws into the transmission test port? Thread diameter and pitch?
Our sensor is 1/8NPT-27
will any of these gauges work with the 5.4 gas. would like to be able to see the trans temp. thanks
Yes, our gauges will work on a 5.4 gasoline engine.
Do you make some for a v10?
The gauges themselves are universal so yes, they will work.
