Ok so I understand I shouldn't daisy chain more than 4 gauges per circuit. If I wanted to add 6 gauges to my truck, I can use 2 separate circuits right? Can I put a second set of expandable circuits on my fuse panel, eg. 2 separate yellows, 2 separate reds etc. etc.?
Hello and good day, I have a2001 F350 7.3L dually XLT and my truck has glowshift 3 gauge setup and all 3 gauges work my problem is I can't change the colors of the gauge, the button isn't stuck and the gauge is a bright red but I can't change it to other colors. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Wouldn't it be better to put gauges in first and then route to EGT probe, Boost, and Trans. probe? That way you can cut the excess wire and make a much cleaner install.
I know one thing the kit I got brand new from eBay that doesn't have the fuel but has egt, boost and transmission gauges didn't come with nearly the things mentioned in this video for the install. Like the green and black wire, the bolt that the egt probe threads into that threads into the manifold, the wires that come off the gauges are only 6-7" long not nearly long enough to reach power, grounding or dimmer. It's BS spend $200 and have to splice every single wire and supply the wire myself
We are sorry that you had that experience with our product. The adapter for the EGT probe comes attached to the probe in the packaging, simply unscrew it to install it onto the manifold and then insert the probe back into it. We do recommend purchasing a wiring kit which will make powering the gauges much easier.
This video needs to be updated, the kit you get when ordered DIRECTLY FROM glowshift is now way different. Even the included instructions aren't fully correct
The gauge in this video only shows boost and not vacuum so the gauge will only show a reading when the gas pedal is really floored. Which is not shown in this video.
@@GlowShift there is no need for a boost gauge if you have to push a gas pedal but if you have to push the throttle pedal that's a different story because diesels don't run on gas they run on Diesel fuel..LOL... yeah I know I am a smart ass but had to do it so you knew I am paying attention
Sorry i know this is not the video but i have a 2004 350z that i got a water temp gauge for and i installed it and everything right but when i go to turb it on it turns on but my radio and my cigarette lighter wont work i used the expanble circuits
The flickering in the video is caused by the refresh rate of the LEDs in the boost gauge being different from the shutter speed of the camera that was used to film the video.
Isn’t it kinda redundant to put a transmission temp gauge when the original gauge cluster has one? I just bought a 7.3 and would like to put this kit on my truck. Is there a different gauge I could run in the trans temp gauge and still use this harness?
You can run another gauge in it's place. If you do not want the trans temp gauge, we would recommend the DS2 gauge package which will give you a fuel pressure gauge instead of trans. And then you would need to purchase any additional gauge to fill the 4th place in the pod.
Just so you know the transmission gauge in your truck is NOT accurate. Yes, its a factory gauge however it has "Set points" so your transmission could be running at 180 but then if the transmission temp sensor saw 220 the gauge will immediately jump to red. NOT gradually. This is why an aftermarket gauge is better because you can actually see the damn temperature rising rather than have it surprise you when it jumps up to red and be already too late and your transmission be fried. There are numerous reports of how unreliable the factory transmission gauge on the 02 - 03 models are. Just look it up for yourself.
Unfortunately the transmission temperature gauge will only work with an automatic transmission. A manual transmission is sealed and does not have any ports the sensor can go into.
@@GlowShift would have been really nice to know this prior to ordering the gauges and spending the last 2 hours covered in trans fluid trying to find a port for the sensor!!!!!!!! Nice !!!!!!!
@@riosuave3977 research buddy. Best thing to do before ordering stuff like this. My dad did the same thing for his 7.3. But I have a 7.3 with a automatic trans so I took those gauges and bought him the right ones.
Boost 0:43
Air heater Intake method 2:26
Fuel pressure 7:10
EGT 8:00
Trans temp 10:10
Pillar removal 13:10
Also around 4:34 for the drill and tap method for Boost. The other methods for boost are before that.
Almost 6 hours into the install so far. Just need to wire everything together and then power everything. Takes longer than i expected
Thanks GREAT VIDEO, I'm now going to order my gauges
Haha found you here man!

The EGT probe wire cannot be trimmed but the boost line and trans temp wires can. Which you could do from the side inside the cabin.
Thanks!!!
Are there any benefits or downsides to any of the methods used for installing the boost gauge?
Yeah, solder the connections instead of using wire taps and connectors.
So u can attach all the wires to each other ? You don’t have to use the piggy back adapter for each wire ?
You can connect the wires together that are the same color. All the oranges, all the reds, all the yellows, and all the blacks.

Does the headlight dim wire need to be connected
No, it's optional.
The boost gauge never moved? Or my eyes failing on me lol?

Is it the same install on a 7.3 van
is there a way to dim the boost gauge a little more at night? Even dimmed its really bright.
This series only has one dim setting.

Sounds like you may need to move the circuit to a different fuse in the fuse box.
If I have a boost fooler will the boost gauge still read accurate
No, you need actual boost and vacuum for the gauge to read.
Can i get this package for a 1st gen cummins?
does this kit comes with all the wire connectors to connect all the red and yellow wires together?
No it does not. Those can be purchased from your location automotive parts store.

Do you have pillar gauge in mitsubishi gsr coupe ?
www.glowshiftdirect.com/mitsubishi-eclipse-gauge-pods/
How about the boost Guage not reading boost at all!
Jason Colbert bc boost only builds up when you are accelerating when you are just cruising there is no boost
You should change the link so that it actually goes to this set up. Link goes to gauges only no pillar pod included.
Done 😉
Does anyone know where to install a water temp sensor
On a 7.3
Does it fit a early 99 model
Yes.
Did anyone else notice the boost gauge flickering
The flickering in the video is caused by the refresh rate of the LEDs in the boost gauge being different from the shutter speed of the camera that was used to film the video.
It would be nice if my double vision fuel pressure gauge read properly, my snap-on gauge reads 62 psi at idle while the maxtow reads 32 psi
Please contact our customer support and they will be able to help you resolve any issues you may be having with the gauge.
So is the trans temp sensor for GM?
The sensor itself is not vehicle specific. the adapters are vehicle specific.
Do you have a video on installing an air/fuel ratio gauge on a 2006 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti?
We do not have that specific install video at the moment.
I have the 3 gauge egt trans and boost. But i have 3 wires that appear to not be needed?
Every wire should be connected somewhere.
Ended up being two wires in the harness mechanical, that i didnt need. operation. Thanks

Early 7.3 Superduty's didn't have trans temp
Actually the stock tranny temp gauge is not accurate cause on cold days i never see it move on to COLD

Are there garages that do the install?
Metal shavings into the engine? Wow. The vacuum wont get them all. Especially if there is any oil residue in the tubes.
i believe it will only get into the turbo but a pen magnet and vacumn will get it out
You lost me at wire tap.
